A lot of Double GTA$ and RP Weeks

Recently, there's been a few double GTA$ and RP weeks. So first (as far back as I can remember), we had VIP Work Bonuses Week, then we had the Till Death Till Us Part Week, then the Freinds in High Places week, then the Rhino Hunt Week, and now the Versus Missions Week, I think there has been TOO MANY Bonus Weeks and that R* need to take a step backwards with them, as these weeks are starting to be norm with GTA Online now where they used to only occur when a DLC dropped, and then it was only for a weekend! I get why R* are doing these Bonus Weeks to get more people playing and to keep players active but what my point is, we've been having these weeks one after another for about six weeks, but we haven't seen a PROPER DLC since the middle of December, and since then R* have been teasing us mini "DLCS" that have only brought a car or two and an adversary mode to the game, what happened to big DLCs like Executives and Lowriders, I want those back!

You're complaining about Rockstar giving us many opportunities to make double money and RP?

Now I've seen it all.

2x weeks don't come in place of actual updates. It's filler to keep us satisfied until the next one. What's with this forum's ridiculous belief that Rockstar can't multitask at all? Rockstar does anything and people think it means they can't do anything else. Everything Rockstar does is met with the same comments of "I'd prefer an actual update."

I think a Benny's update with tuner and lowrider cars is coming. Possibly up to 8 cars to upgrade! Benny's mods do cost a pretty penny

This is how it should be, special events and incentives to play that encourage people to explore other aspects of the game. I think they need to do more of this. Make each week feel like an event.

Gta hardly has missions that gives us good money these bonus events help to save more money for things you wanna buy like an apartment or a car or a yacht, if they were to stop giving us double money and double rp, you would have to buy shark cards to save yourself time, they're here cause they make things to expensive and double gta$ helps us.

It's really quite linear:

  • Po' people be po'.
  • Yachts come out.
  • All dem po' muhf*ckas be jelly.

Here, have stuff at a discount, you gross gypsy bastards.

what happened to big DLCs like Executives and Lowriders, I want those back!

You mean the last two updates we got? Are you a goldfish?

I'm not looking forward to GTA VI eating away at this forum. The difference between IV and V was five years. This game has not even been out two and a half and is not only kept alive through updates but was re-released on three new consoles. Yet people don't think it's worth talking about in its own forum.

GTA VI needs its own forum.

It's the last 2x train, enjoy it while it lasts.

I really doubt it. There's a lot of salt among the die hard legit players about the fact that items like Yatches (yes, yatches), Lowriders, and upmarket interiors are out of reach for a lot of players.

I feel like this run of discounts and easy earnings are symptomatic of complaints, rather than indicative of anything else.

Considering how long it's been on the air and how old GTAO is, IMO it's not that far fetched to assume it might be the last 2x run.

Hopefully a VERY substantial content update comes out of this though (it most likely will).

It is probably to keep you interested and playing GTA V while they get back to their normal update schedule.

At least to more casual players. I haven't been playing for that long but I got a yacht after just two weeks of good money making. I can definitely see why Rockstar is doing this because more casual players are likely to be drawn away like other games like Black Ops, The Division, Fallout etc Edited by Shneb

Probably see a yacht sale after this one to complete the money drain followed by a substantial update.

Rabid Vulpix

Quoting myself from another thread:

That's why R* hasn't made their next DLC release yet, they are timing it to compete when The Division is out.

Also F4's Automatron DLC is coming very soon, so another reason R* is waiting.

It would be silly for R* to add their new content a week or so before those 2 big events occur.

So in a way, R* is trying to keep players active with these 2x events until they release their own DLC.

The parent company of R* doesn't like these 2x events btw, they love (& even gloat) about Shark Cards.

So it's a 2 fold event:

- R* trying to keep people interested with these 2X events.

- R* trying to make people spend their 2X earnings on already existing vehicles with the sales.

= Thus hoping most players that are kept interested will resort to Shark Cards when the new content is released.

If R* was trying to eat players from the upcoming Division, wouldn't they announce something in advance? People pre-order, and make plans into the future... If i was on a marketing department, i'd give the announcement at very least two weeks in advance, and it would come out on the same date, if not a day ahead.

I doubt they are giving ass about Division.

I believe what they're doing, is setting us up for another soon to be released DLC, but a very costly one. So right now, they're making sure we're getting enough dough to spend on other stuff.

Rockstar release DLC > cry because it's not good enough

Rockstar do 2x events > cry because their isn't more DLC

Rockstar release more DLC > cry because you don't have enough money to pay for it

Rockstar gives a month of ×2 activities - bitch that some of them aren't the ones YOU like to play. I hope there would be x2 races next. My low-level 2nd character could use some wins.

They're also doing the same cash card deal they did recently, where you get more than normal. Cheaper cards get 10% extra and then it varies, all the way up to the Megalodon which gets 50% extra. $12 million for the price of $8 million.

This is going on until Sunday.

Edit: I take it back - it's from 15% upward. I'm gonna post this in a new thread instead.
