What's so good about Los Santos Rock Radio?

Whenever someone asks what people's favorite radio stations in GTA Online are on any site, Los Santos Rock Radio seems to get the most mentions, usually by a long way too.

 

While I think We Built This City is pretty catchy, the rest of the songs sound bland for me. So, what makes this station so appealing to the players?

 

We Built this City is a travesty. If Hitler and Mussolini collaborated on some song writing, this is what they'd come up with.

Oh really? I almost never have the radio on. When it is on I may listen to non-stop pop depending on the song playing. I prefer Space 103.2, Soulwax FM, Rebel Radio, FlyLo FM and Radio Mirror Park.

I just puked in my mouth a little. I wish I could block all radio stations except LSRR, west coast classics, rebel radio, and non stop pop. I get pissed when I get in my car and any other station randomly comes on.

Music is something very personal, connected to our experience, sensibilites, memories and alludes to our artistic and creative vein. I like the music I like, you could argue that's it motives are complex and therefore interesting from a proper musician's point of view, but I like what I like and I don't expect anyone to understand that.

 

You can't just convey a feeling by linking a YouTube video.

I grew up on classic rock. I've had at least one classic rock station in my area my entire life. I knew every song on LS Rock before I listened to it. But I wouldn't consider it my favorite station. I imagine most people have classic rock stations in their area. So I don't really understand the love. One of the biggest draws of GTA for me has always been discovering new music. I love Radio Mirror Park. And Non-Stop Pop when doing the whole 90s nostalgia thing. And I really appreciate The Low Down because I also grew up on oldies but we don't have an oldies station anymore.

 

If anything else, I think LS Rock Radio is as close to Vrock and Vice City as the game gets, though those other stations I mentioned have some killer synthy Vice City-sounding tunes.

It's pretty sh*t to me, but so are all the other stations in the game. I know other people have a different opinion, which is nice to know because at least others can get enjoyment out of the radio.

Because I love rock music? Growing up in the nineties sooner or later we heard these songs, one way or another. Lemme ask you something... Why do people listen to Mirror Park? Non-Stop Pop? Rebel Radio? Because either we grew up listening to it, or we gravitated towards it later on in life. Rock, grunge and metal are my chosen addiction. If you don't like LSRR, don't listen. I haven't listened to the radio in game in months... I've heard all the songs so many times that it's gotten annoying.

Let's face it, this station and Non-stop-pop are the most popular and best stations on this game (I believe Radio mirror park and RLS are also quite popular) because they both play amazing catchy songs. Some songs are bad in my opinion like the Julian Lennon and Elton John songs but the majority is nice to listen to. I was more into Liberty Rock Radio because it had more metal and songs I preferred but this station is one of the reasons I think this game's soundtrack is great.

"If You Leave Me Now" can also be a runner-up. Seriously, that song has no place in a GTA game. Ever. I instantly off the radio when that comes on LSRR.

I'm normally into glitch hop/dubstep/chillstep, but some good old rock music while going ape sh*t down a highway, or better yet in a jet is something I really treasure about GTA. Also sing alongs with your mates when your riding around together.

Oh come on man, that's my favorite song of his, I feel great passion of his singing in it that I just get this tingling feeling of how awesome it is.

 

But Chicago's If You Leave Me Now doesn't belong there, it was only put there for Trevor and Patricia's cheesy one-dimensional relationship.

Because I'm in my mid 30's and I like the songs from my childhood and the older stuff my dad played when I was a kid better then the current day crap.

 

Los Santos Rock Radio - 60's, 70's and 80's Rock, what's not to love, also Kenny.

Space 103.2 - 70's and 80's Funk, again what's not to love, and also Bootsy baby, ya dig?

West Coast Classics - 80's and 90's Rap, the good kind of rap, most of the stuff the new rappers bring out today is sh*te imho.

The Lowdown 91.1 - 60's and 70's Soul Music, again what is not to love, and there's no hating Mama G

Non Stop Pop FM - Although there a lot current day stuff in there, there's still a very good selection of 80's and early 90's pop music in there

I do wish Self Actualization FM had somehow made it to Los Santos...maybe because their studio got destroyed in the Liberty City flood or something?

 

Also forgot to mention that I bought "I Can't Wait" by Stevie Nicks. Good mid 80s song for Ruiner cruising.

 

I like I Don't Care Anymore too, just haven't bought it yet.

My roots are in rock and I don't enjoy the station much, couple of decent tunes but I tend to stay away from it. Classic American rock is a bit hit and miss for me
