What's so good about Los Santos Rock Radio?

Whenever someone asks what people's favorite radio stations in GTA Online are on any site, Los Santos Rock Radio seems to get the most mentions, usually by a long way too.

 

While I think We Built This City is pretty catchy, the rest of the songs sound bland for me. So, what makes this station so appealing to the players?

Kenny Loggins is an incredible personality, and screaming along to 80s rock whilst losing control of a muscle car is the only way I can get off anymore.

I only really like Carry On Wayward Son I think that's mainly because it reminds me of when Supernatural use to be good.

I always saw GTA as a world ready to explore and most of my GTA San Andreas memories include flying a plane over the desert listening to K-DST (Tom Petty's "Running Down A Dream" and Toto's "Hold The Line" are the ones I have clearer memories of) so it's only natural for me to do the same in GTA V. I think most others are like me - there's not really any other radio station that I can see as "nostalgic" except maybe Non-Stop FM and Mirror Park. By nostalgic I mean looking back a few years from now and remembering the radio stations. Mirror Park's "The Setup", Fergie's tune on Non-Stop FM while flying a jet and Kansas on the radio...just feels good having tunes to go to the memories.

Oh really? I almost never have the radio on. When it is on I may listen to non-stop pop depending on the song playing. I prefer Space 103.2, Soulwax FM, Rebel Radio, FlyLo FM and Radio Mirror Park.

Just like it was said here, because people simply like the songs it plays. Los Santos Rock Radio is also my favourite radio station on this game for the very same reason, and also because I dislike the music genres of all of the others (except Channel X, but still I'm not the biggest fan of punk music). Honestly that radio station could be better, there are better and more representative songs of that style and era, some of them aren't really worth listening to in my opinion. But we'll, after all it's just a matter of personal taste.

I like it because I'm an avid fan of classic rock, there are big names and songs in the station that are well-chosen, even if the hard rock songs don't really belong in a soft rock/power pop hybrid channel. It's also the only station I can stand to put on every single time when I'm driving and whatever is playing is catchy.

I love LSRR but i think it's getting boring.

 

But i really hate Carry On Wayward Son. I just hate that song.

 

And every time i turn on LSRR f'n Roundabout is playing and that song is like 10 hours long which really annoys me

That song is the reason why I listen to East Los FM although I kinda listen to West Coast Classics more because of GTA SA memories from the old Radio Los Santos

I'm a rock guy, so it makes sense I love the rock station. While I agree it's not the strongest they've ever offered (I think K-DST with Axl Rose was better) it's got some great tracks. Love Cats in the Cradle and Carry on Wayward Son.

I liked it until about a year ago. Playing this game for two and a bit years listening to the same 20 songs on a radio station gets awfully repetitive after a while. I've resorted to listening to Blue Ark.

If they added more song to it I might listen to it again, but listening to the same generic rock songs over and over again is just boring to me now. I still don't mind Kansas and Queen's tracks (since I'm a Queen fan at heart), but even they repeat waay too often.

I encountered a weird glitch back when I first transferred to PS4 in my Monroe where I hit a ped and he lagged, so I suddenly got launched in the air when Baker Street was playing, when I reached the skybox the saxophone part of the song played as I was slowly spinning towards the inevitable in my maroon Monroe with the beautiful sunset in the horizon and the bronze-lit clouds around me.

 

It was a magical moment and permanently cemented my love for Los Santos Rock Radio, and I still beat myself up over forgetting the fact we have a share button on our controllers now.
