steve_blue5
I just wanted to make a post which I guess is my own little Ode to the Grand Theft Auto series. I also hope it kind of brings back to Earth, albeit briefly, those who are currently upset that GTA: Online is not quite what they want (Deliberate broadness here as I do not wish to offend or cause an argument.) Anyway, the GTA franchise itself is almost 20years old. Think about that. There may be those of you who are old enough have maybe experienced every rendition of the franchise, all the way back to the first GTA in 1997. I myself got hooked the first time I played GTA2, the freedom of that game and the experience it provided was nothing like anything I had ever experienced or played before and this experience has only intesified as the franchise has grown. I must devote some of this post to GTA4 especially, I know it is not exactly the unanimous favourite of the series but its change in tone and maturity hit me at a time where I felt like I could really appreciate it. Not only that but the map design, and the sheer depth of some of the locations, sometimes I would just come home from work/school and just explore Liberty City. Now I am very aware I am not the the most articulate or inspiring writer but If anyone who is reading this and currently feels frustrated with GTA:Online or Rockstar please remember their history of amazing games and stay confident that the future will have the same levels of quality and sheer...fun that we have gotten used to. Or, you know atleast you probably had a laugh at my boner for GTA. I dunno...listen to this, doesn't have to be all of it, just pick from your favourites and think about these damn games and how damn good they are. Yukinoshita
Agreed, but too much honey in your post haha. What people should understand is how GTA: O and GTA 5 are superior to most of the games out there. How long have we been playing it? Few games make you want to go back, see what's new and have fun with your friends. Unlike a *cough* CoD *cough* which tries to renew itself with maps that cost 20$ each, R* provides us with FREE updates with new missions, cars, clothes, this, that...god, just accept what you have! They could have easily made all of this in a huge DLC sold for 15$ and yet they didn't. Maybe the game is not perfect, maybe there are cheaters and glitches (they're on every single game, PC and console, no excuses there), but I'm not afraid of saying that it's one of the best games that came out in these last 4 years. And story mode? Ugh, I'll stop here and leave it for someone else. Please, hate me now Edited March 3, 2016 by Yukinoshita evd
TreFacTor
This isn't a cool story it's written like a half assed eulogy for gta online calling for nostalgic memories for gtas past. I can understand the fond memories but the gta online game and section of this forum are still very popular and active,so what I can't understand is why you types keep posting these premature postmortems in the ONLINE SECTION. O_o It's okay to reminisce but at least put it in the proper sections where repasses may be more appropriate and plentiful. I agree with you, I think in the first place I was naive to even post this topic as well as put it in the wrong section! I didn't intend to make it sound, like you say a eulogy, I just wanted to show my appreciation for the series...I just did it wrong. HA
