Using the police station heli in heists

Hey there guys,

 

I'm just wondering if anyone know on which heists/setups the helicopter on the police building is actually available? I have never seen it not spawn while doing the Signal mission (Pac Standard) while I've never seen it spawn while doing the Vans mission. This makes me guess that Rockstar has intended it to be available on some specific heists while disabling it for others.

 

Anyone have a list? And is it the only helicopter that is (somewhat) guaranteed to spawn during these setups/heists?

I don't believe the spawn is 100% consistent as last two times I have played Signal the helicopter did not spawn on the helipad and at one point people were

reporting it had been removed due to people starting to use it to skip the objective of use the jet ski's to travel to the island.

 

Don't play many heists but I know the helicopter spawns 100% in missions and sometimes there is a chopper on the Police Station at the police station just

beside the Rooftop Rumble garage, the only other regular helicopter that spawns is the black Frogger at the beach helipad (the one which lands

on the pad) as I see that a lot during missions/heists also.

I remember the first week of heists, me and a couple of friends grinded Pacific Standard and we all went in together with the bikes close to each other towards the heli spawn, saved us the full payout by parachuting to the boat.

 

Sadly, it made the game fun, Rockstar had to hot fix it instantly because anti-fun policies.

^Yea I agree if only 1 or 2 people go to it the chances of it spawning is better.

 

I used the helicopter from the vinewood police station last week in Signal setup. So it's not "patched" as of yet. Just a sensitive spawn.

If it doesn't spawn just drive down the road and come back. It will eventually spawn. Also yeah only send two people. The others take the jet skis further down that you aren't pointed to and clear out enemies for a safer helicopter landing.

It spawns 9 times out of 10 for me.I haven't even used the seasharks in months. I always go solo also and surprise the randoms by beating them to the island.

It's a pretty rare shortcut that few know about.

Have you never played Tomb Raider? You'd figure out in 5 seconds.

Generaly it spawns for me...just a very few times it does not...in signal that is...i dont know if it spawns any other setup/heist

Just look up a video on youtube if you want to see how to get to it. That's how I found out. Type in the search bar on youtube "helicopter gta signal setup". Several videos should pop up.

 

Basically you have to climb the building to the roof.

If it doesn't spawn in signal it's because you've gone to the station a bit too early, just drive around a few blocks and circle back to the station while tilting your camera up to make sure you see the tail rotor spawned on the roof.

Also, I daresay riding the bikes to the boat is a lot more "fun" than going unopposed in a helicopter. But if you really want a full payout and no effort, there's still the Kuruma method which they have never patched.

I know, I own the Kuruma safehouse, but it gets glitchy lately.

I always go to the Vespucci/Del Perro police station, it has always been there. You have climb up from the courtyard stairs onto the first roof, and zig zag back and forth eventually reaching the helipad. But I have never gone with more than 1 other person. As a group we have always skipped the first set of marked Sea Sharks, and typically I can meet up at the second set with the heli at the same time. The heli disappears if I am not sitting in it, landed, when the group grabs Avi.

 

The Vinewood station has easy access to the helipad by climbing, but I don't think there's any way to climb the Downtown station (Rooftop Rumble). I've never found it, but that would be waaay out of the way for this. Vespucci station has been 100% for me, the problem is jags who die clearing the island, and then you lose the heli. I mean, just take the boat, it's easy and the heli often arrives before it will allow the end marker to trigger anyway. If you can't handle the boat, you can't handle climbing a building and flying the heli. And why would you use it in any other setup?

 

The Kuruma/apartment method for the finale is intentional. It's too much of a coincidence that apartment is right next to where you store the bikes, plus it hasn't been patched. It's the easy out for people who can't handle the bikes.

I use it on the Signal set up for Pac Std. Makes that setup a piece of cake. Couldn't imagine doing it any other way really. I have learned that if 3 or 4 of you all go up on the roof to get the copter, sometimes it won't spawn. So we send just one guy, two at most.

I don't think there's any way to climb the Downtown station (Rooftop Rumble). I've never found it, but that would be waaay out of the way for this.

I think the only to get to the helicopter there is by using the stairs inside the police station ... But I'm not sure if it's accessible during missions (aside from Prison Break of course)

 

 

What about the Davis county Sherriff office? Next to the impound yard? Does a Helicopter spawn there during missions? In story mode, it's usually a Police Maverick or an unarmed Buzzed.

With randumbs...those are already at the island and dying before you reach them...also ive had it happen i returned after going away a few blocks and the thing still wasnt there

Depends what everyone is driving and were the heist is started...if at the appartments at del perro or whatever it was called again...yea...hard to beat.

Personaly though, when im driving my hakuchou from the tinsel towers....yea...im gonna be first or atleast at the same time at the island.

Not to mention, by my knowing nothing goes faster then driving that police boat to the beach and crashing it on the beach while an other guy delivers the chopper on that beach, gets out and let the one that has avi fly it to the checkpoint at grapeseed.

It's a hit or miss during the day, 50/50, during the night, it spawns for me 100% of the time.

 

I always go alone, but someone said it doesn't spawn if lots of people go. I am not convinced of this personally, but probably safer to go alone, the rest can drive to the 2nd set of seasharks on the beach, only one person needs to go get the hell.

Played Signal yesterday and it spawned. Then two team members went and got another one after it re spawned when I flew away.
