Can't complain..... :panic:

I have AT&T U-Verse at work.

Just tested and got 3.35 down, 0.52 up (that's a little above average for here)

No other carrier has connections to our block

29.7 down

2.8 up

Ok now I'm further confused. When I tested on my ps4, the above was my speed. I just downloaded the speedtest app, and this is what I got....

82.96 down

11.96 up

23 ping

How accurate are either of these tests?

The reason why there different speeds is because the one from speedtest.net is the bandwidth from your ISP to your modem and/or router. The speed on your console is the connection from your console to PSN/XBL servers. Obviously neither company could offer to supply enough bandwidth to saturate everyone on the networks connection, as the cost and capacity they would need would be ludicrous.

Yes. The PS4 also throttles speed or so I heard. Not sure why.

Incorrect.

It throttles it to prevent lag spikes when other people are using the came connection. In other words, it improves the consistency of the connection.

Incorrect.

No it really doesn't, it has absolutely no control over the incoming connection from your ISP, that's like saying Netflix or spotify can throttle your connection. It's literally impossible for another service to have control over your ISP's internal network.

I need to move back to Austin. No surprise Austin has great internet. That city rivals Silicon Valley for technology.

It works the same way as google fiber, it is offered to the town or w/e. Its a misconception when they see really big numbers for under $220 because that's how US networking is.

As long as I can watch streams, play games and download porn I'm pretty much set, so I'm not as bothered by my terrible internet as some people.

It goes, you can download at 20mb/s. We will throttle our upload speed to 10 to 15mb/s

We pay for 100/10. Time to go mention Netflix and Hulu to TWC and see what they can do.

Nvm i honestly cbf. Go ahead misinforming people thats all this forum does anyway, look how people still blame R* servers lol.

I'll add this for you to think about though, by the logic you are saying right now means if you have

100Mb/s theoretical speed download and taking into account layer 1 and 2 overhead = to about 90Mb/s

8 bits = 1byte = a theortical maximum of 11.25MB/s throughput and you download a torrent that is only downloading at 6MB/s due to not having enough seeders means the TORRENT is throttling your connection?

No idea what this has to with GTA Online, but whatever.

I don't see how this has anything to do with gta.

I don't see what's the relation of my internet speed with the game.

Think we found the people with laughable internet speeds.
