My Personal Favorite Thing To Do In GTA IV

My favorite thing to do in GTA IV isn't rampages. Isn't guns, either. It's something really simple. I turn my settings all the way up and head over to BeachGate. I turn down the road to Mikhail Faustin's house, all the way to the end. With the broken guard rails. I stand as close as possible to the edge and look out over the beautiful ocean. I think a bit deeper, and think about how the likes of Vice City and Los Santos are out there... somewhere. It's a weird feeling.

Any of you do anything like this?

Walking around in the rain is something I like doing. I love the rain in GTA IV.

Driving up over the Hickey Bridge into Alderney and then further on Plumbers Skyway always tugs at my heartstrings, especially during a sunset. I wouldn't say it's my favorite thing to do, but it's definitely one of those little moments that always hit, emotionally. Maybe it's because I just like Alderney a lot, or the general feeling of freedom and open road that the highway gives once you leave the oppressing maze of Algonquin streets.

Yes,, it is one of the best strips of Roadway in the Game. The Plumbers Skyway also provides some Scenic Vistas of vast tracts of the Map.

It's raining and I'm cruising up the Plumbers Skyway at 4 AM. The sun starts the rise and the sky glows a beautiful greenish yellow as it pours down. Still the most amazing effect in my opinion. The rain in this game feels so right too.

Like others said, plumbers skyway. When I would be driving on it and goodbye horses or 1979 would come on, I would get chills and see even further how awesome IV was and is.

I like to cruise at night with a fast car. Listening to my own user tracks. Or sometimes Vice City FM in TBOGT.

Drive along the plumbers Skyway and chase cars and shoot out their tires. I like watching them lose control.

I also like just walking peacefully around the map with the volume cranked up.

Don't kniw why, but taking a fast car for a slow cruise is also pretty fun. Like the Turismo. You can drive it around all slow and still have fun. Revving at stoplights, taking off. Kind of fun. I don't know, speeding around 247 and ignoring every rule in the book just gets old very fast unless - of course - I'm in a police chase.

I like exploring Funland, it brings me back to a bygone era. Somewhere lost in time where people used to be lining up for show rides, fairy floss and hotdogs. I also like to go exploring Middle Park and go 'people watching'. There's such a vast variety of different peds and the park is simply huge. You can easily spend a whole in game day exploring there.

I think exploring Funland/Firefly Island is both intriguing and eerie. I also get a sense that it takes me back. However because it's out of operation it has an eerie feel like once it was teeming with life from families and such having a good time, but now it doesn't apart from the few hobos and other undesirable types that hang around.

Adds depth to the city's history like it actually existed before Niko arrived.

Yeah I think that's another great element about Liberty City is that it reeks of history, that it's a real place that exists and has evidence of being there for a long period of time such as old signs showing through weather worn paint, cobblestones underneath the pavement and old relics of the past such as the Monoglobe from the World fair. It just gives Liberty City that special touch.

We already heard it a few times, the rainy days and nights are amazing in Liberty City.

What i enjoy most is a rainy afternoon, when closer to night the sun comes out a bit before it gets dark, it has that rain/sun mixed sky i really enjoy.

I've been replaying this game since maybe 6 months before v came out and Jesus I forgot how much of a gem it really is. I forgot how much I loved the atmosphere of liberty city and the characters, everything.

So far I've just been cruising around broker doing the first few missions, taking in all the nostalgia. I remember really enjoying the bohan area too.

I also used to love stealing a cop car, logging on to their computers and tracking down the criminals around the city. Made me feel like I was playing as a Russian vigilante

Mine is jacking a car and waiting for the driver to angrily grab the door so I can see how far I can drag him across the city. :)

The small little touches of driving in the rain across Union Drive is just surreal! Nothing is better than cruising around the city at night, while raining.

Take a patriot and just crush everything, start fist fights, if I die fist fights in the hospital.

-All time favorite-

Take a car and run everyone over on Happiness Island, they'll respond before you finish each loop and no cops will catch you.

Also fun to take a bike and do stunts at the skate park at the Meat Quater.

Also Firefly projects swing set.

I love going to one of the platforms or whatever that is in Northwood, where the Sniper Rifle pick-up is. Then I make the cops come to bust my balls and when they come to the top, I nudge them off that platform and they fall to their doom :p sometimes they glitch up and it goes even more hilarious. Whenever a cop starts sinking into the ground and then "moves" through it like a worm, I LMAO lol. Other than that, I enjoy sitting around in Brian's/Johnny's safehouse, implying I bought it, or I just shove the poor hobos off the roof in the Schottler projects from Blow Your Cover. This game has so much replay value for me that I always come back to it ;)
