Basium84
Hello! My keyboard wont work at all anymore. I can't chat, run, change weapons or anything. Only button that works is "Home". And i can write messages there. And it now crashes every time i alt+tab. I changed keyboard already. Same problem. Other games works fine with my keyboard. This is on the dvd version. But i also own steam version, and exactly same problem there too. All worked earlier today. Don't know what triggered it lol. I have restarted and closed all background programs, like skype, razer software etc. What to do? Im on Windows 10. Edit........ All works after removing my xbox 1 controller.. Edit 2 Keyboard + controller works after uninstalling the latest auto update from windows 10! Edited March 2, 2016 by Basium84
Incorgnito
Having an identical issue after installing the latest Windows 10 Home 64 bit update. No keyboard control in game, however I can take Steam screenshots with F12, enter Social Club with the Home key, and enter Steam with the Num Lock key. Controller and mouse both work while having the issue. Here is my current build:http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/8tfr4DI'm also using a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse, but tried wired ones with no luck either. After reading this I did try playing in story mode, unplugged my controller, regained keyboard control, plugged my controller back in and everything functioned as it should. Then I restarted GTA, and went into online and tried the same thing, but it ended up crashing when I plugged the One controller back in.I think I'll uninstall the latest updates until there is a fix. If I don't report back immediately after the uninstall it's because I'm playing...*EDIT*So in the update history there were two updates-Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3140743) -Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3139907)I'm not too sure what the difference between the two is aside from the word Cumulative and then the bracketed code. To be honest, I'm not that savvy either so I doubt I'll be able to figure that one out. As of right now I uninstalled the Cumulative one with code (KB3140743) and everything works in game again. I could uninstall the other one but if it's working fine I think I'll leave it installed. Edited March 3, 2016 by Incorgnito
Basium84
Yeah exact same update for me. And the best part is it keeps installing that sh*tty update once per day.. Is there any way of disabling?
Incorgnito
Well, I'll be damned... I thought I was safe, and I thought I had my settings configured so that it had to ask me when to apply the update. However when I went to shut down I HAD to update... I restarted, went back into GTA and am still having the issue. I'll have to do some digging to see if we can disable automatic updates entirely, for the time being. Out of curiousity, what are you running for hardware? I'm surprised more people aren't having this issue, my setup is pretty standard IMO. But maybe it's a weird thing with the Motherboard and it's USB outputs (I haven't tried switching between 2.0 and 3.0 ports yet...?) or some other PC voodoo I'm unaware of. If not we can maybe try posting up on Rockstar support, see if we can get anything out of there.
E•MO•TION
KB3140743 is indeed the culprit. Try downloading and running the "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter package from Microsoft to prevent it from installing.
GTAVO
Same exact problem since March 2, 2016, after Windows "KB3140743" update. Uninstalling this update fixed the problem for me as well. Thanks for sharing the fix!
