oh no! someone on the internet has a different opinion. You daft c*nt.

Congratulations on having your own opinion. As they say, opinions are like assholes, everyone has them. Doesn't mean yours isn't busted.

How is it "f*cking kids" ruining the game when it's Rockstar's programming that causes rev boosts when going over kerbs? Racing would be way better if cars stopped getting rev boosts from random sh*t but that's on Rockstar, not the players.

So what does the suspension upgrade even do?

I always assumed that it was like so many other upgrades that change look but not physics, eg bumpers, roll cage, chrome bull bars, extra fuel tanks under the sand king.

I've never noticed any difference in performance. So I always keep it stock.

It alters the handling.

I think the Feltzer is one of the more obvious cases, although I need to rebuy one myself. And the Turismo.

I do appreciate the irony of cipher656 complaining about kids, while simultaniously being the only one here acting like one. It's cute.

The Turismo has a slight tendency to oversteer though, but it's definitely my go-to car for the supers class.

One thing I keep hearing people complain about is that it can't go over curbs, but I don't ever encounter that (I use stock suspension on all my cars) unless I respawn during a race. That's normally what causes the car to never be able to go over curbs.

As for the Comet and 9F, they're pretty not that good compared to the Turismo when you take suspension out of the equation. For me, it's a definite must for the Comet to have a suspension upgrade (preferably the max) while the 9F can hold it's own without a suspension upgrade, but you'd probably be able to handle it better with at least sports suspension.

Then again, it's all down to how you drive. I like cars that oversteer more as it fits my driving style.

The Turismo R cannot go over curbs... at very low speed. Once you gain a bit of speed, easy mode physics take over and you'll snap onto curbs like any other car (except the Faction).

Forza Harrd

I drive a fully lowered Turismo about 50% of my time online, and the only time I ever noticed an issued with curbs is driving slowly, like at parking lot speeds.

I like to park on the sidewalk to check my phone and enter contact missions and stuff, and the Turismo doesn't really like to do that. But it loves everything else I do so I'm never changing it lol. Great car. Full suspension upgrade ftw.

Nice to know. I always thought the car somehow gets messed up after respawning in a race as there will be times when I still can't go over curbs even if I get the speed going.

lol kerb boost. f*cking kids ruin this game.

Because using the game mechanics to your own advantage when others are too stubborn to use it totally ruins the game. Logic?

Don't blame the players, blame the game developer or yourself.

Get Rockstar to fix kerb boosting. Enjoy "mlg pro raycor" rage.

I hate kerb boosting just because of what the f*cking thing does to my braking instincts. Brake as late as possible for a pass, yay, oh, bang.

I dislike it mostly because of the ridiculous lines you have to take to be competative.

The lower suspension options cause more understeer. In some cars that's good and in others it's bad. Honestly your suspension choice should mostly be based on driving style

It wasn't really a secret as much as it was a test for stupid players to fail.

"My Turismo hits curbs now that I lowered the suspension all the way. Guess I have to sell it now" instead of just raising it one or two levels. Visually and performance-wise there is barely a difference.

Also worked for the Merryweather Mesa:

"My Mesa has a high center of gravity and tips over if I drive like a moron. Guess I have to sell it now. Wait?! I can't sell it?!*" instead of lowering it just one or two levels. Again, visually there is hardly a difference.

*=If you acquired Mesas for free back in the day you could not, and still can not, sell them and had to replace them with another vehicle.

even at regular level it bottoms out, gets hung up on curbs and gets hung up on the railroad and subway tracks. You even automatically get damage to it when exiting the Los Santos Customs in Burton because it sits so low.

Opinion my ass. That you don't know about kerb boosting doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Quite a number of serious racers actually agree that it shouldn't be a thing despite being active users of the glitch. Broughy is one of the more prolific examples.

But of course, knowing the GTA community and gaming communities in general, some people would definitely go on a QQ rage.

And if they were going to fix something else at the same time that could cause even more QQ, they could sort out the motorbike wheelie boost sh*t.

My Turismo was my male character's exclusive ride for over a year and with the second-lowest suspension setting I only hard-curbed it once in freeroam. Mind you, I wasn't racing with it because I stopped racing with that character before I bought the Turismo, but I don't think the settings or physics changes between racing and freeroam.

Non Fiction

Suspension affects each car differently. I used to have my Infernus all the way slammed until I was in an actual race with my friend and realized the car could barely turn. It didn't affect it in free mode but during race mode it sure made a difference.

kerb boosting is why the racing is rubbish on this game, kids driving into you and swerving all over the road. i only do races with crew and friends it's the only way to guarantee a kid free race.

People were all over the road and crashing into you LOOOONG before the benefits of kerb boosting were discovered... Not defending its existence in the game, but it's a stretch to pin all of GTA's racing issues on kerb boosts, 'cause that's nonsense - the problems are WAY deeper than that.

What does kerb boosting have to do with it? Kids hitting you happens in random lobbies with squeakers who have no idea how to drive and don't even know what kerb boosts are or how to use brakes

Kids drive blindly, they don't know what/where kerbs are.

"Kerb" is a noun & the original spelling, and still the usual spelling for the end of a sidewalk etc in most places outside of the US/Canada. "Curb" is historically a verb meaning to restrain or hold yourself back etc, but has become the most common spelling for "Kerb" in the US/Canada. There's a lot of eurpeans on this site, so you tend to see just as many kerbs as curbs. it's also why you see tyre and tire and armor and armour, etc.

Kerb is the generally correct spelling worldwide. Same as Kart (go kart). English changed a lot inside the US over the years, I'm not sure why, maybe there were lack of reference books back in the day. Still I think real English looks nicer on paper, Amour, Colour, Flavour, Fertiliser. Kerb :p. Metre, Tyre, Centre etc.
