Niobium
$190 AUD for Vice City on PS2. The only reason I did was because I got it 2 weeks before the Aussie release and seeing at the time the Aussie laws/regulations regarding censorship was taking full swing I wanted an uncensored version. Looking back it was a really foolish thing to do seeing as I now have Vice City on my PS3 anyway which I don't think is censored lol. However I've probably spend ridiculous amounts of money on games with DLC on top. wow, fu*k australia's rating board. i can't imagine playing a censored GTA Edited March 3, 2016 by Niobium Algonquin Assassin and PhillBellic

CReaper210
On a single game at once? Two times I have spent $150. The first game I've ever spent $150 on a game was Defiance for Xbox 360. I got the ultimate edition. Was super excited for the game at the time. It was actually a pretty cool MMO. Really unique idea and enjoyable third person shooter gameplay. But they introduced ONE update that removed these keys from random events which made all loot WAY harder to get and I stopped playing right then. It was such a lazy way of trying to force the players into buying the keys with real money and it just didn't work for me, because they took away the one thing that keeps me playing a game like that: the grind for better loot. The second game is GTA5. I got the ultimate edition of GTA5 as well. I absolutely loved GTA4 and I don't regret my decision at all. GTA5 is a great game. But in the end, I spent more on GTA5 total. I bought the limited edition of GTA5 on the 360($150), the game on Xbox One($60), then again on PC($42 as a deal a little after it came out), then I spent $150 on cash cards during a 50% off sale. And I don't care about anyone's hate for cash cards. I enjoy the game immensely and I spent it sort of as a reward for all the free content Rockstar has given me over the past couple years and I do think it was worth it. $600 on CS:GO on 2 accounts. Most of it's on my main account. E: honorable mention to GTA V having bought imported versions for ps3, ps4 & the PC version as well as shark cards. Wait. I don't play CS, so I don't really know how to tell. Did you actually SPEND that much or is this part of the in-game shop thing, being able to sell and buy stuff? That's insane if you did spent that much. Not being negative or anything, I could just not imagine spending that much for in-game content stuff myself. Not being negative or anything, I could just not imagine spending that much for in-game content stuff myself. I don't find it more insane than say, buying shark cards. Something I've done as well As for your question, yes; I've spent around $600 US dollars in in-game items on CS. While that sounds like a lot to the average joe, avid fans of games like CS, TF2, etc., have all seen or heard of inventories scaling in the 10's or even 100's of thousands of dollars. There's even single items worth more than a car...

Fireman
I don't find it more insane than say, buying shark cards. Sir Michael
^ Maybe on the older consoles, but so far here on XB1, I haven't run into any of those "can't let go of the billionaire days" players yet. Sure, I've seen a couple of rank 8000's lurking around, but they most likely transferred. There aren't any script mods on XB1 or PS4 that I'm aware of, and there probably won't be for a very long time.
RedDagger
If I ever find someone throwing around Huntman's Knives you won't see me buying anything for CS:GO.The point kinda is that this never happens although, it was possible to dupe items (at least in tf2) because steam support would give you a copy of a stolen item instead of the original, however this was really rare - this is because valve has item servers that track everything, so it's impossible to create items out of thin air. OT, it'd be GTA V - special edition for 360, then the PC version for a total of £90. My TF2 backpack is worth a bit more than that, but I traded for some of that value so the amount I've put in is a lot less than V's £90. Ruin
If I ever find someone throwing around Huntman's Knives you won't see me buying anything for CS:GO. Except you can't be gifted knives that way. You can get it is a gift, but in the same way you can gift a game on steam. You can't just spawn, drop your knife for someone and then respawn with a new one. A lot of items would lose value if you could dupe them so easily.
Fireman
I'll explain it in more detail then, GEEZ, EFFORT; If someone duped unlimited knives and gave them away for free in every match, I wouldn't buy them anymore. Which is comparable to people buying $$$ on GTA Online, while every lobby has five hackers giving away unlimited money, which is why I thought it was incredibly insane that you spend money on Shark Cards. Ruin
If someone duped unlimited knives and gave them away for free in every match, I wouldn't buy them anymore. Except that will never happen, so it's an impossible scenario to even consider. The closest to what you're talking about is people begging in casual lobbies to be gifted 3 cent skins. Every item is assigned an individual id to a steam account. You cannot make new items via duping unless you're a valve employee. While duping has happened, it happens via scamming their support page by lying about being scammed/having the account hijacked, etc. Which is comparable to people buying $$$ on GTA Online, while every lobby has five hackers giving away unlimited money, which is why I thought it was incredibly insane that you spend money on Shark Cards. - I never actually encountered a hacker on V, and I played since day 1 on ps3. - I like to support games I play, even I was gifted billions or 1 dollar, I probably would've still spent money just to support R* back then. Tech-Noir
There's guys who will make you a PS3 or XB360 account then mod it up so you can transfer it to Xbox One or PS4. I play GTA on XB1 with a separate account that I share gold with from my main XB1 account for everything else. Paid a dude $15 for $100,000,000, 500 levels of rank, limited edition weapons, all online unlocks, and some other stuff I can't remember. The account has lasted me over a year so far, got 15 million left and when I run out I'll be doing the same thing again so making a third XB1 account. I would honestly be somewhat fine with buying a cash card if they weren't so overpriced. The $100 cash card can't even get you the biggest yacht online so when I can pay a dude $15 for $100,000,000 rather than $100 for $8,000,000, well...I'm not insane. Most money I've spent on a game? It would all be DLC cause I f*cking loathe microtransactions, paying IRL money for in-game items that aren't DLC, etc. I guess it would be GTA since I bought the game twice for PS3, bought it on 360, then bought it on Xbox One, then paid $15 for the modded account. Most money I've spent on DLC though would probably be when I bought all the costumes for all characters on Super Street Fighter IV. I'd buy all the costumes for Dead or Alive 5 but that would be a couple hundred dollars since the devs are f*cking bonkers. I have 40-something costumes for just one character on the roster, my main, it's absolutely ridiculous. My most shameful video game-related purchase though would have to be the amount of money I spent on the Avatar Marketplace back on Xbox 360 where they were a lot more prominent than on Xbox One. My friends would always bug me about it, but I just loved customizing the avatar for some reason so I'd drop more and more money on clothing and props. At least it was kinda worth it in the end cause since the Xbox One gamerpictures blow, I prefer using a picture of my avatar and the props making taking pictures a lot more awesome. I think buying shark cards is way more insane than buying CS;GO items because you don't get unlimited dupes for that, while you do get unlimited money from hackers in almost every lobby. I don't know if it's as bad on consoles though. It was a hypothetical situation, it doesn't have to be possible; In the hypothetical situation in which you could get unlimited duped knives for free, paying for a knife would be as insane as buying shark cards. While I do agree that if I could get free knives I wouldn't buy them (in fact, I may not even yearn for them), I do think there's value to shark cards even amidst the hacking going on. For several reasons I spent quite a bit on them as well, and don't regret my purchase since it offered & supplied me with what I wanted; entertainment. Before then, MA15+ was the Maximum Rating. Any Game that didn't comply with the M15+A Rating was Banned, or Heavily Edited.
