EDIT: << Split from the "Worst Mission Topic >> becoming off topic.

Nothing really comes to mind as being difficult in SA. However, something SPECIFICALLY on PS2 V1...Supply Lines...This one is the hardest in the game SPECIFICALLY for PS2 V1 since there is a Fuel Glitch. No matter what, the RC Baron loses fuel, even if you are stationary and not moving, unlike every other Version of SA. Because of this Fuel Glitch, it makes your chances of passing it slim to none. If you don't like flying Planes, or RC Vehicles, then you might NEVER pass this on PS2 and NEVER reach 100%. Not until 6 to 10 tries later do I get the LUCK to pass this one. When you get to the red marker on the roof of Zero's Shop, you literally have ZERO Fuel. You JUST pass it by a split second. It's that bad. Any hesitation to blow up the Vans or the kill the Couriers on Bikes will result in a Mission Failed. This one is a bitch but not because it's difficult, but because of a terrible Glitch on PS2 V1 that is unavoidable.

I did it yesterday on PS4 version and had a little fuel left even after the two dudes on a bike took slightly longer than it could have, any idea which version the PS4 emulates? PS2 V2 I guess?

Lethal Vaccine

Nobody gets it, either. Until they play this Mission, they won't understand. This is by far the WORST Mission required for 100% in SA if you are playing on PS2 V1 and ONLY PS2 V1, since this only exists for THAT Version.

Tbh, I can't even think of ONE SINGLE MISSION worse than this and that goes for all the GTA's combined. Nothing is more annoying than having 2/3 LESS TIME than everyone else playing the SAME GAME as you. Regardless if you want to say the Fuel is a Timer or not, it's still running down QUICKER than any other Version of SA...

Yeah, it's V2 for the PS4 Version of SA...

The Fuel Glitch is only present in V1 and specifically for PS2. All other Versions of SA have this fixed...

That is NOT a Glitch. It is a simple and relevant method of putting a TIMER on the mission without using a Clock.

by the way it is Not Only on the V1, The V2 game for the PS2 also has the Fuel as a Timer.

I repeat it is Not a Glitch. People only think so because, after many complaints, it was removed from the PC game. Or I should say it was modified, so that not pressing the throttle button or rolling on the round did not use fuel.

Yes, but PS4 is V2 since it also doesn't have the "Life's a Beach" Total that was on V1, you can't move CJ in the cutscene during "Beatdown on B-Dup," etc, etc. These things are on V1, but later Versions they made Life's a Beach easier, CJ can no longer move during the cutscene, AND Supply Lines... is much easier to pass.

I can no joke HOLD the throttle 100% of the time on Mobile and get back to the Zero's Roof with the RC Baron with roughly 80% fuel left, but then on PS2, it's only 5% or less.

Modified or not, it's still nowhere near how it is on my PS2 Version. Also, I have friends with V2, Greatest Hits and such and the fuel isn't a problem. 7 day survivor, an old member here who is no longer active also says about how on his PS2 Version, the fuel doesn't run out and it's much easier to pass it...I am 99.99% sure this is PS2 V1 only...

Sorry for potentially going off-topic, but what's this about moving CJ during the cutscene for Beat Down On B-Dup? I'd not heard of that V1 quirk before, it sounds interesting.

Lethal Vaccine

Well...It's in my SA Special Vehicle Guide with a Video...

Now tell me...Can you do this? I don't think so. I KNOW this is PS2 V1 stuff. They don't make this anymore. I feel like I am the only one who has this Version and understands. In this Version is the Supply Lines... problem too. Life's a Beach has the normal amount of points you need, etc, etc, etc. All of this stuff which was DIFFICULT on my Version is made EASIER on later Versions. PS2 V2 was made easier and has NONE of the things I am talking about...That goes for EVERY existing Platform and Version of SA AFTER the FIRST PRESS in 2004, which I own. I bought SA on release date and still have it all in perfection condition...

Btw, you don't need to drive in reverse to dunk the Infernus in Glen Pond. You can drive forward but only one condition....If you're holding X (Run/Accelerate) during the cutscene and while you jack the Infernus, you can drive FORWARD and not backward. If you let go of X and press it again, the Infernus is deleted and CJ is wasted. If you hold X this entire time until the Mission Fails for driving into Glen Pond, you have obtained this and won't die or Infernus be deleted.

I don't make this stuff up. I don't have a reason to.

So to go back on topic: Supply Lines... is by far the WORST Mission in SA and the WORST in the Series since you have a small chance of actually passing it. You need to be quick, you need to be lucky, you can't hesitate for 1-2 seconds, cuz you NEED these 1 or 2 seconds...

Ive still got V1 on disc for ps2, bought it day one before the hot coffee scandal etc so it must be V1, got no PS2 at the moment though to check, I do remember that supply lines being ridiculous back when I did it before so I dont doubt it for a second man.

Lethal Vaccine

Something else present only on V1 for PS2 is the "Vigilante Glitch." You can pass Vigilante Level 12 in about 8 minutes. How? Easy. You get an HPV-1000 and activate Vigilante. Take the Bike to a Cluckin' Bell or Burger Shot. With Vigilante activated, you can go in to buy food and when you do this, the targets are eliminated off the map. Just get back on the Bike to start the next Level and to get the time increase. Now just repeat until Level 12 is passed. It takes 8 minutes...I've done it every single time I played on PS2 to date when going to 100%.

Again, this is PS2 V1. Every existing Version of SA after the one I own has this removed...

OrionSR made note of this in some Topics, too, if you don't believe me.

I was able to replicate this glitch in my PS4 port of San Andreas, it's how I got the trophy so easily. Granted, some fast food outlets work better than others.

Pretty interesting. Never heard of that on PS4, but then again, most people probably didn't bother trying it. What do you mean some work better than others? They work all the same for me on PS2, at any stage of the game. As long as a Cluckin' Bell or Burger Shot is open and you have an HPV-1000, it works...

You can also do the vigilante mission with tank, just break into area 51 after black project or take hunter easily from heli hell, it should fit into hashbury garage to get it out of mission and then just kill the 12 levels on viglante

Ah I never tried it because I heard that glitch only worked on V1. Might be wort trying other glitches that only work on V1 if there are any

Well, I tested the method in all three cities using various fast food outlets. I found the northern-most ones in San Fierro worked the best because they'd often spawn in the Doherty and Garcia areas. I don't know how the game decides they've been eliminated with no input from the player but the locations of the criminals seem to jump around a little. I know when I used the Cluckin' Bell on the east side of San Fierro (near Pier 69) I was getting criminals spawning from as far away as Tierra Robada (somewhere I hadn't even unlocked access to) before moving to Doherty. As soon as I'd leave the restaurant, the "threat eliminated" message would flash up. In Los Santos I had less success, with my level only reaching 4 or 5 before my time ran out. I wish I knew more about why the glitch works and what determines a threat has been taken out when I haven't even moved.

Oh, this is the hardest mission topic... er... yeah, vigilante missions are pretty tricky sometimes.

You're right. After I wrote the message previously, I went ahead and tested this out. It seems like you can't do it in Los Santos for some reason, or like you said, it goes to a lower Level but doesn't fully work. San Fierro? Gold mine, literally. This is where I always did it and worked like charm 100% of the time. Strange stuff, though. I am surprised it works on PS4, despite being PS2 V2. Maybe I shouldn't of said about Vigilante being a V1 thing...More like a PS2 thing, in general. But does it work elsewhere? I don't think so. I only ever heard of it working on PS2 and I said V1 for this because me and my friends did this back in 2004-5-6 and such, and we all owned V1 for SA, thus I figured it only worked there. But I guess it's PS2, in general, despite what Version it is. But I am still holding my ground on Supply Lines... and Beatdown on B-Dup with moving CJ in the cutscene, as well as Life's a Beach. The points you need in Life's a Beach is cut in HALF for other Versions. Why? I have no idea cuz unlike Supply Lines... on PS2 V1, I have no trouble passing this first try, 100% of the time. No idea why they would make the points HALF for the other Versions as it's easy to get 6-7-8,000 points...

I am drawing a blank as to how much I need and how much it was changed to, but I KNOW it changed...

"Life's a beach" is 2500 on the PS2, PS3, and PC. The PC is very easy because you can use either a GamePad Left Stick, or the KeyBoard Arrows keys, as it displays ARROWS of direction. The PS2/3 game uses the buttons X, Triangle, Circle, or Square, which I find very difficult to See with the general lack of contrast on the darker screen of the Console game.

I wanted to bring up the mission New Model Army because apparently there was a change made to shorten the timing so you couldn't leave Zero blocked behind the first barrel while you destroyed the Tigers and moved the remaining barrels. I don't recall what method I used, though I do know I left Zero behind one of the barrels (just before the first bridge) so I could take out the tanks. Has anyone else played the PS3/PS4 and gotten up to this mission? I had about a minute left and that was with a couple of hiccups with moving barrels.

Yeah, I do this on PS2/3. I always leave Zero behind and take out the RC Tigers (Tanks) before proceeding to put down the Bridges and remove Barrels, etc.

Used this method in PS2/3 and PC

1. Take out the two tigers on the second Island.

2. Remove that first blocking barrel.

3. Place the plank for the first bridge.

4. Take out the last Tiger.

5. Clear the barrel.

7. Move the plank to the other crossing, and then

remove all barrels that are in the way.

Yeah, that's a solid way of doing it. The amount of times I hit Berkley's copter trying to move barrels was ridiculous. I also heard in early versions of the game either copter would get stuck in the ceiling but that appears to have been patched at some point.

Yeah I did it quite recently, from take off I immediately took the bomb and took out first tank then went back for plank, then when you need second plank, get the first one you put down, I found the tanks take long enough to destroy the buggy that I could still go back and get the 2 bombs to take out the last two tanks, still had a fair bit of time left so I dont think they changed it, didnt seem any harder than when I did it on ps2 last

It took me like 13 tries on the PS2 years ago. Just yesterday I finished this mission on EcBoc 360 on my first try. The vehicles were much quicker to blow up than that of PS2 and PC as I can remember.

Fly the 'copter close to the Tank, then move the "Camera View" directly over the Goblin. Use the shadow of the Goblin to center the Tank and then let the bomb drop, One bomb, One kill.

If you get really good at it you can wipe out the Berkley Goblin too.
