Now we're talking!

yosemite_progress2.jpg

This is how this truck is supposed to look, stock and clean. I spent the whole day working on making this thing more stock, such as replacing the tubbed out bed with a standard proper bed. Suspension is now an accurate IFS setup just like a real '67 C-10, with leaf springs and a solid axle in the back. The wheels you see were provided by GCT from his Rancher Stepside, and they fit the truck perfectly. I would like to also point out that this truck won't have livery support, as I've never seen a stock C-10 with flames or racing decals.

There is still some work to do, like update the LOD's, put some badges on it, and make the collisions for it.

Oh, and a friendly reminder to not quote the picture in your replies, thank you.

Wow! Sounds good to me now. Great for 70's traffic, it matches the Youga Classic I'm working on.

Looks really nice and better than I imagine! I'd suggest to add the camper shells and have the one with dog dish rims as an alternative variant.

Aw man, you cancelled the slammed version? You definitely better send me your files when it's done so I can make my SA-style Slamvan. Or I will hunt you down like a dog.

Just kidding.

Or am I?

I am kidding

I will be doing different options for wheels, so the dog dishes will be available. As for the camper shell, I'm kind of on the fence on that one as I was planning to put that on my later "Rust Bucket" version. I don't really think having a camper shell on a clean truck will look right, but we'll see.

Anyway, maybe make a poll what should be next?

Okay, I went with MG's suggestions for making a poll for the next DLC car to be converted. It saves me the bother of deciding which vehicle to convert next, as they are all cool cars that I like.

Choose the one you want to see the most and whatever car has the most votes will be the winner. The vehicle that is second will be next and the third place car will be after that and etc. I'll come back in a week to count up the scores and see what's what.

Have fun!

Not surprised to see Deluxo leading, followed by 190z. One question tho, will you leave the taillights on them as they are, or are you going to make them closer to how they look on real cars? IMHO, those that Rockstar originally gave them look bland, generic and plain ugly. The taillights on real DMC-12 and Fairlady are very significant part of their character.

I'll probably just leave them the way they are now, as the default ones don't really bother me all that much.

This is unfair. Italian classics do not get the appreciation they truly deserve.

Not surprised to see people raving for the Deluxo, although I prefer the 190Z myself. Few suggestions if you're going to convert the 190Z; you should add side window trim and b-pillar since the car lacks both of those, and make an optional rear bumper similar to the 240Z rear bumper since all the rear bumper options are mostly skinny and splitted just like in the 2000GT.

Agreed on the door trim, and I'll see about doing a optional rear bumper.

Also if you want a good reason why I'm not too interested in changing the rear of the 190Z completely, take a look at the pic below.

Yep it's a Dino rear, and as you know the Dino 246 is my favorite Ferrari.

I agree with Unbind about door trims. I would also add few things to the 190z too:

-I also would like to add something about the bumpers. It pisses me to no end is that front bumper doesn't match rear bumper (front is plastic, rear is chromed with plastic bits). I'd be thankful if you could find some way to fix that, by either making the both chromed or both plastic.

-Karin badge on the front of the car

-Adapting one of Deluxos spoilers (the one that looks like from 240z)

-new wheels that are closer to these or these.

-front blinkers on the side

-maybe some ridiculously tuned version some time later

I'm gonna be honest, I do want the 190Z. In fact I want all the cars you want to convert, but some are more appealing to me than others. :)

However, I do agree that the 190Z has some clues of Italian design. This car is very reminiscent of the gorgeous Toyota 2000GT, the most beautiful car Japan has ever made.

The conversion voting poll is done, here are the results:

1st: Karin 190Z.

2nd: Imponte Deluxo.

3rd: Annis Savestra.

4th: Albany Hermes.

5th: Vapid Hustler. (Tie breaker vote by me)

6th: Lampadati Viseris.

7th: Grotti GT500.

I wasn't surprised to see the JDM cars up at the top, the 190Z and Savestra are both based on very popular cars. The Deluxo wasn't a shocker either, considering all the BTTF love.

Thanks to everyone who voted! Expect to see progress of the 190Z here soon.

Hey guys, I started a new section on the OP which has unlocked models for free converting and editing.

You can find these in the new "UNLOCKED MODELS" section, and as time goes on many more unlocked models will be added to the OP.

Have fun, and feel free to share any progress of converting or editing of my models on this workshop.

Man, if I could map vehicles, I would so map that police 'Yosemite'...

(we seriously need to consider as a community renaming it)

Why would you want to rename my Yosemite? It fits perfectly between Rockstar's and GCT's versions as generations of Chevy trucks. GCT's version is branded as a Brute, but Chevy and GMC did both make a Suburban. I honestly don't care what you want to call it, but I will always call it the Yosemite.

Speaking of the Yosemite (or whatever you want to call it :turn:), there is a new update out for both the Dually and Police Ranger. This update fixes more mesh errors including that terrible area around the side indicators.
