Well, you guys probably didn't think I'd really do it, but I did. I wrote a program that checks if Thundersmacker has uploaded a mod. I can't test it easily because of the approval wait time of 2 weeks or more on GTA4-Mods.com.

If you guys would like to use it, here is the link. All you have to do is extract the files and then run the exe file. It will beep a few times when a mod is uploaded (if it even works. Like I said, I can't test it.)

If you don't trust me/the program, the source code is on GitHub if you would like to check to make sure it's legit.

Oh my god you actually made this?! And you actually can test it tomorrow as my mods don't have to wait for approval on GTA4-Mods.

Also would it be weird if I used the program myself?

He actually f*cking did it.

Lmao.

Yes... too much time on my hands I guess? Lol. Yeah I've noticed that, and I plan to test it :D

Nah you're ok :p

BTW, the program works for any other author too. Just change the link in the settings.ini file, or remove it totally (but leave the LINK= part) and then input the link after you start the program (it asks for it).

Wow, I like how it even tells you if the mod is new added or not, nice attention to detail. Defiantly gonna try this out tomorrow.

Aren't there some PD's that rebuilt their Caprices when they reached the end of their Service Lives?

I remember reading somewhere about a place that did rebuild old Caprice's for Police, but I can't remember who or where it was.

Was it from here?

The Police Premier has been uploaded! It is currently available on GTA4-Mods, I am also uploading it on GTAInside as usual but you'll have to wait for it to be approved.

For Jitnaught: I tried out the checker unfortunately it did not work, I had to restart the program for it to detect the new mod. After I restarted it it did detect the new mod but it didn't say it was new or made any sounds.

Noooooooooooooooo!

So you're saying that it kept printing in the console the old latest uploaded mod?

Yes it did

Ok thanks for the info, lemme see what's up with it. I honestly didn't expect *that* to happen lol

No problem, the only thing that sucks is you'll have to wait about a week to test it again. :dontgetit:

Haha, yeah, at least for an approved mod. I can try to test at least for an unapproved mod though by uploading a mod myself (and then deleting it when I'm done, because I don't have an actual mod I want to upload).

I think I found out what was wrong with the program. Each time it checked the mod page it would save the page (in memory) but then never reset it the next time it checked. So the program just kept adding on data over and over again. The program would see the original data first so it would think that the page never changed. The adding on data problem would also eventually use up all of your RAM... though it would take a LONG time.

Here is the updated program. I tried to test it for an unapproved mod but I guess it doesn't work when you don't have mods uploaded already. I guess we'll have to wait another week to see if it works? :p

The code is also updated on GitHub.

Just wanted you to know that someone converted your convert of OnePiece's Patriot to V. https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/patriot-classic

I see that, looks pretty good from what I can tell. Unfortunately I can't try it out because as you know I don't have V on PC.

It's perfect, aside from this.

The final bit of the stripe goes under the indicator.

Oh well, nothing is perfect I guess.

That's a nice gesture, but between my less than great internet and the "periodic entitlement" DRM, I'm gonna pass.

I was going to say, the only 9C1 Caprice I ever saw in the "modern" livery sat at the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge around 2006.

Still though, it's frigging amazing. The 9C1 steelies came out perfect.

A bit late to this but I found a funny little small world/coincidence.

After I read this post I went googling for Caprices in the modern NYPD livery (less common than I expected), and found this image: https://www.flickr.com/photos/triborough/142469426

A comment from the author (and I assume it isn't you lol) says it was taken at the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge, picture happens to be taken in May 2006. There's a good chance this is actually the exact car you saw.

RCMP used the Caprice too, in both old and new livery:

(not meaning to hijack just more caprice porn)

This appears to be some super-early variant of the new livery as it lacks the 9-11 phone above the rear wheels

I'm thinking about going back and redoing my Warrener convert after I finish the Taxi Premier, maybe add some of the LSC parts for a gang version and re badge it as a Annis.

What do you guys think about that?

DO IT!

I've done it before with your Warrener mod and replace all the badges to make it into "Annis Elegy". Unfortunately, the rear badge map doesn't fit with the Annis badge I replaced (kinda stretched downwards).

I probably just change it to Annis Warrener, seeing that's how R* was going to name it originally. I still can't figure out why they changed it to Vulcar, the Warrener is all Datsun/Nissan.

Small suggestion: if it wouldn't be too hard, would be 2-door version Warrener possible?

Awesome work Thunder, I do love using your mods.

Just throwing this out there, but have you ever considered working on lore friendly motorbikes like JoeVK did?
