TUTORIALS

Here you can find tutorials for various tricks and methods I use when converting cars to IV. Forgive me if the tutorials get confusing, I'm not good at tutorial writing. Simply click on the tutorial title to download a file, or go to another page.

 

Adding more cars to GTAIV : The Thunder Way

This is my guide for adding new vehicles into GTA IV. This is the best method I know of that should have the least amount of bugs and issues.

 

Door/Bonnet/Boot Physics Fix

This is a tutorial I made to show the method I use for fixing the weird physics with openable parts. Included is a tool that requires OpenOffice, an Excel like program. You'll also need OpenIV.

 

Camera Offset Fix

This tutorial explains how to fix the camera on cars exported from Zmodeler.

 

Swapping and scaling wheels with OpenFormats by JoeVK

This is JoeVK's tutorial on how to change wheel models and change size of wheels with Openformats.

 

Making colorable badges by JoeVK

Another useful tutorial by JoeVk that deals with making badges that can be colored. (like on the Sabre Turbo)

 

Fake AO for vehicles by JoeVK

This is a very useful tutorial for getting the shading on new cars in Zmodeler similar to the vanilla cars that Rockstar made.

Grotti Cheetah (Update)

 

 

 

 

Here is a small update to one of my most popular mods, the Cheetah.

Changes include new 5-star wheels, and some new headlight textures. It's still not completely bug free which is why it's in this section.

But I still think that you should combine few elements from this photo (especially the bumper which is spot on IMO)

Nah, I dont like that front, I was thinking of making the front more along the lines of this: a Koenig Testarossa

 

 

It will have the vents on the side of the bumper like the SA version though.

I know you're busy with the Turismo, but I have a suggestion; what do you think about a 1982 (or close) Lamborghini Countach car? Maybe call it Infernus Classic or something.

Also, yeah, the Koenig Testarossa seems like a good front donor for this car. The SA Turismo front looks ugly AF.

BTW: If it comes in handy for anything, I figured out how to make colorable badges on IV vehicles. The T-Rex graphics on my clone/recreation of your T-rex are now colorable, and I'm working on two vehicles right now that will feature them too. Let me know if you're interested and I'll type it up either here or in a PM. It's actually fairly simple. It takes longer to explain how to do it than to actually do it.

Although I want that too, he said multiple times that he won't do requests. The only exeption that I remember is Turismo, which we all have to agree that the changes were too subtle. Other than that, let him do his job however he wants. Edited March 2, 2016 by MGgames100

Do I have to bring up IVPack thread? We were giving so many "suggestions", that thread was locked for 48h. Seeing how Thunder's mods are even more popular that CP's I wouldn't be surprised if it will be flooded with requests. I'm not Thunder's lawyer, but I think that we have to draw this line on the start b4 it gets worse. Don't get me wrong, I have tons of suggestions and if Thunder wants them I will post them in no time. Edited March 2, 2016 by MGgames100

This isn't IV Pack thread, and Thunder isn't CP. It's your business if you don't like suggestions, people are free to post suggestions unless Thunder doesn't want them anymore, which is what CP did. IV Pack's point is to convert IV Vehicles to V, obviously CP restricts himself from converting non-vanilla vehicles as much as he can (I said as much as he can, because he converted the Cheetah Classic and the Stratum Coupe).

 

I sound like a backseat mod, yeah, but the no suggestions thing is just plainly stupid, because it happened on a thread of a mod whose point is different than this thread. Now I will stop.

Actually I've been wanting to do a proper Vice City Infernus/Countach for a while, but never had started on one. I'm not saying I'm doing it, just that it's possible I will in the future.

I don't have GTA V, nor do I plan on getting it any time soon. I would love to see the Patriot converted though, but it will most likely be converted (if it is) by someone else.

Yeah, I probably should just type up a tutorial. I'll get on that. I also figured out how to swap wheels and/or adjust their width, using only Notepad (or Notepad++) and OpenIV. I should probably type up a tutorial on that, too.

I don't know, but those rims IMO fits on the model, obviously on white color.

It's going to have color changeable rims (thats why they are black in the pics), the rims are going still be 5-spoke but will look more like the rims on a Diablo SV.
