Getting the Android version to run on Emulator for Windows

Recommended Posts

nkjellman

I'm trying to get this game to run on an Android Emulator for Windows, but no such luck.

-The emulator that comes with the Android SDK doesn't have a Play Store, so no way to download it on there.

-Andy forces you to install on the C drive. Also LCS is "Not compatible" with it. (I'd like to verify that by trying to run it myself. Not be told by the Play Store.)

-Blue Stacks just shows the loading screen artwork. Blue Stacks can't run sh*t anyways. All it is capable of most of the time is saying "Loading, Please Wait, One Moment Please" for eternity. Not to mention that it doesn't support joy pads. It allows you to map out buttons to locations on the screen, but that does not satisfy my requirements for joy pad support. The devs of Blue Stacks may not now this, but Joy Pad support is when the Android operating system detects a controller as a real Android device would. Then games that support joy pads such as GTA LCS would act as if they have a joy pad connected. There won't be any giant touch screen buttons on my screen ether. :)

-DuOS only gives you a 30 day trial, and requires a paid subscription to use. In my opinion, something like this would become an annoyance on my computer, resulting in messages popping up in the lower right corner pestering me to upgrade, and I have to uninstall it. Not to mention that it most likely doesn't even run Lollipop.

-The other Android Emulators I found don't even run Lollipop, therefore no running LCS. Only the GTA's that we already have on Windows.

Since Rockstar isn't smart enough to realize that releasing the new version of LCS on the Windows Store or Steam would be very profitable to them and are repeating their same mistake they made back in 2005-2007, we need to find a way to get the enhanced version running on our PC's ourselves. So, now I ask the community to help find an Android Emulator that has the following characteristics.

-Is able to be installed on a different drive (not necessarily a requirement, but a basic thing that would be nice to have.)

-Has actual joy pad support. I speak of actual joy pad support that the Android Operating System would detect, causing games with joy pad support like LCS to work with it. Not half assed buttons mapped to spots on the touch screen "joy pad support".

-Stable

-Runs a newer version of Lollipop, or Marshmallow, allowing it to run LCS.

So lets try and get the best LCS experience possible. :)

NOX Emulator is working well with LCS, but pad support isn't available.

Does it at least support the keyboard? I will not play LCS by clicking on buttons on the screen. Absolutely not. lol

Edit: Google Play Store "Your Device isn't compatible with this version.". :(

No, you can steer only by mouse.

Well that is retarded. There is no way that is playable.

It does support controllers by the way, but as soon as I select my controller, my Xbox One controller disconnects. (Xbox One peripherals are sh*t. Drivers are a pain to install, and my dpad is f*cked up. Changing the radio station in GTA V is annoying because the dpad rapid fires and tries to skip to the next station a bunch of times, rather than bring up the wheel at times. This is why for my console gaming experience, I choose the PS4. No need to deal with the console where the past console got red ring every year. End Rant...) The other thing is that it appears I can only select the wireless adapter. I can't use the controller via micro USB as the cable falls out (another flaw on the Xbox One controller because I dropped it and the connector deformed. I call this a flaw because it is a console controller, and should be designed to withstand autistic children getting pissed off at COD and using the controller as a hammer to smash objects in their surrounding environment).

Dealing with these irritating Android Emulators has gotten me in a bad mood tonight. Not to mention that ALL of them insist on writing onto my C drive, resulting it filling up rapidly with junk when I specifically told the installer to put it on my giant ass 4TB external. By default, it puts the VM on my C. I believe that their running off of Virtual Box. That is what I read somewhere.

There is a way to play it...On the Phone, using Touch Screens. How? By playing and getting used to it...Like we all did.

So this design is ok to you?

Na man. Same issue as the original PSP. One analog stick. Lol.

Anyways, the Xbox One controller is great. It just has a few technical kinks. But then again, nothing is perfect. :)

I have played it on the phone and I am used to it. But I want to experience LCS on a larger screen. They did a wonderful job upgrading the textures. Edited by nkjellman

Not true. NOX lets you map keys on the keyboard to swipes and taps on the virtual screen, which is what I've done.

In the sidebar menu, click Simulate Touch (or press CTRL+1).

I still have to use the mouse to control Toni on foot, but that's not so bad.

I wonder if we can use a standard wired joy pad. Or one that was made for Android. Like the Shield Controller for example. Xbox One controller doesn't seem to work with it (despite it working on every other emulator).

I did get it to use my mouse as a joy pad. I had a mouse pointer that I was able to move around the screen in the menus (not the Windows mouse, a mouse in the emulator). Let us PC gamers pray to Lord Gaben that having a mouse means that a Windows version is in the future. PC is the last to get any version of GTA. Any strand of GTA releases first releases on the less capeable systems (In LCS Mobile case, iOS), then later on the more/less powerful devices (Android depending on your device). It might take longer to bring it to Windows as it is x86/x64 based, and iOS/Android is Arm based.

So, out of curiosity, can someone answer me a few questions about SA Mobile? Was the Windows Store version announced when SA Mobile first came out on iOS? How long did it take between the original release and the Windows Store? (To be fair though, the Android version only came 2 weeks after for III, VC, and SA, and it took 2 months for LCS)

In the mean time, I got to repair my Windows 10 install. A few of my apps don't work. The Windows Store, the Calculator, and the Photo Viewer. No idea what is wrong. But I'd like to have my Windows Store working encase LCS releases on it.

[offtopic]

Well to be fair, they had to port the game from PS2's MIPS instruction set to the ARM instruction set. So theoretically they should be able to port to x86 from there. Whether it'll ever happen, we may never know.

Yes, I think San Andreas has a Window Store version might just be because it's already on PC platform. GTA stories are console natives so it might never get to PC.

But then again, there really was no point to port SA. Besides updated vehicle reflections, shadows (which were darker versions of the PC shadows), and detail overlays, it really was pointless. Way too many bugs and downgrades.

There is more reason to release LCS on PC. Rockstar knows that people have been asking for it since release.

Personally, I think that it will just pop up out of no where if it gets released. There were no announcements in advance for the iOS or Android version regarding release dates. They just released. (Although to be fair, they did say that there was an Android version coming when iOS released).

I'll be blunt. They would be very stupid if they didn't bother to release LCS on the Windows Store and/or Steam. More people would buy that than Shark Cards.

Regarding the topic, we wouldn't need to run the Android version on an emulator if Rockstar was smart enough to release a Windows Store/Steam version. But for now, we need to find an Android Emulator that can use a joy pad as well as emulators such as PPSSPP, PCSX2, Dolphin, etc... use them.
