Is anyone still uptight about the character creation?

Honestly I wouldn't even mind that much if I was able to give my character a full beard to hide some of the facial features but R* has been to lazy to even add that

Almost everybody who cared has finally let it go by now.

Nope, actually was able to make a character I'm happy with it.

Facial features, yes. Other physical features no.

Not only is it ridiculous amounts of work for Rockstar to be able to make yourself fatter, or taller, etc. There would be issues with clothing, fitting inside vehicles, animations among a host of other things. That and I'd rather not see Shrek walking round the city. You can go play Saints Row for that junk.

I didn't mean the body (It's actually kinda my type). I was talking about the facial features. And I played SR but it doesn't quite have that same charm that GTA has. Edited by CharliesHead

We just need a plastic surgeon in the game in one of those empty useless stores to change our look as much as we want, like any other game with character customization.

Yeah, the facial system could be improved. I loved the idea that my grandfather is John Marston, but it didn't turn out as anticipated which is what most people don't like about it. But a lot of people want to go further and have silly bodies too, I'd rather everyone look like a human being.

It's good now. I made 2nd character a while ago, and although it's nigh on impossible to make a character look like you want (tried Trevor) it's not complete crap when you let go of those ambitions.

Went for an old alcoholic look. Came out nice. "Nice".

I'm happy with my character, but the character creator just... didn't really work out in the end. It was a good idea - you pick parents and features and everyone looks realistic, nobody with blue skin or arms as thick as $1 coins walking the streets. Everyone fits in with the world.

Turns out everyone just kind of looks the same... same build, height, weight, everything. Only difference is that unless you have a really solid grasp on the unintuitive settings, you're also a crack addict. You can drag those sliders to the moon and back and you'll still look like a hollow-eyed Mick Jagger after being smacked in the face by a cold steak for a few hours. Even if you're a girl.

Honestly, Saints Row's character creator was just about perfect for stand-ins that don't look too absurd. They'd have to restrict a lot of the facial and skin features to keep it coherent but the triangular Fat/Slim/Strength was ideal.

And the sex appeal slider. Oh yes.

Luckily I was able to make mine not look like a crack addict but they ended up looking a bit like a man transitioning into a woman or just a very feminine looking man

Is this The Guy?

I don't mind at all really because my character is handsome as f*ck

But I do however wish for a full duck dynasty beard.

The parents thing was a bad idea at first anyway.

The frustrating thing here is that some PNJs have a really pretty face but we have to spend a lot of time trying to get something that doesn't look ugly.

Not just bad but pick your grandparents to make your parents to make you. Really? For a modern game that is the best they can come up with? A step down would be making us all the same skin or getting a random character when you play online. This isn't Ubisoft or EA but Rockstar sure started to act like them.

It looked like only 2 weeks was spent on gta online development when they delayed it 2 weeks after singleplayer came out.
