Probably because they (Sony or MS) have to pay for it to be maintained and further developed, among other expenses.

 

What, you thought system updates, network maintenance, tech support employees, etc. just happened on its own at no-cost? Or were you just of the opinion that, because they're both multi-million dollar organizations, they should have to front all costs regardless?

 

 

Steam is free, Origin is free, Uplay is free, GOG is free.

 

All my play time is free. All my tech support is free. All my additional updates (which we don't wait for) are free.

 

My service has never gone down more than a few minutes for maintenance, and some of us will never forget Sony's pathetic display when it let some kids molest their online service for the guts of a month. Where was all of the money for PSN support when that happened?

 

You guys get bled for a service that is worth nothing. It's fine if you're ok with paying it, but let's not pretend it props up the service, because that's just not true. There's no argument to be had here, it's a resounding victory for the PC.

Speaking solely about the networks we use to play on, no there isn't an argument. PC has vastly superior network and support structures. Mods have nothing to do with what I said.

With a shoddy internet connection console has it merits for lower bandwidth imo.

Only if you have a gaming desktop PC. If you're a laptop dude like me because I require a mobile computer, you get sent to PS1 graphics land.

You can have a powerful laptop, but it'll sport a battery life of about two hours.

I don't see how. PCs are not just room filling battle stations. A laptop isn't a completely different console like a PSP is.

All honesty, I had a lot more fun on 360 than I do on xbox one/ps4/pc. PC I normally play by myself with mods. PS4/Xb1 aren't as appealing as last gen used to be. I enjoyed last gen more for some reason regardless of the graphics, loading times, etc. Don't know why, that's just how it is for me.

Well, this is a shoutout for XBox One and XBox Live.

 

I am currently loving playing on the XBox One platform, and the improvement over XB360 is vast. Yes, XBox live has had its share of DDos Attacks, but MS are far superior to Sony in dealing with it.

 

Also, I'm sorry, but there is just something in the whole console vs PC experience that sticks out a mile for me - most PC owners are forced to sit at a desk for hours playing on the PC with keyboard and mouse, but the console experience is far better when a 50" TV is used, and you are just chilling on the sofa, controller in hand. I did the whole gaming with keyboard and mouse thing back in my MMO days, and I was GLAD to get rid of the desktop PC,. Backache is a bitch.

 

I now have a basic laptop that lives on my coffee table, a 50" TV and my Xbox One. The Laptop can communicate with the XBox, and I have a decent home network.

 

For me, Console vs PC is NOT about which games look better, its about the whole experience of a relaxed environment vs sat at a desk.

This. It's nothing to do with how poor or rich someone is, the key word is value. I had to buy a replacement PS3 last year when my old one exploded in a cloud of pulped yams, so essentially, I've bought two consoles (now PS4) and the same game twice.

 

Paying for the online on top of that is a f*cking insult given how poor the connectivity of the online game is.

 

Shocking numbers...last poll i saw on this subject 2 or 4 months ago most people were still on old gen...interesting

Yeah, I've never liked the idea of a gaming desktop or "battle stations" or what have you. I like playing how I do now: lying prone on my bed, in an air-conditioned room because it's so goddamn hot outside.

 

If I'm on a laptop, I'm most likely playing Payday, in which case I'm holding my XBOX controller and my hands are near the keyboard in case I gotta spell out what the hell my team is supposed to do if they want to get money and not die because of stupidity.

 

If I'm on my PS4, I'm on GTA 5 obviously, so I'm holding my PS4 controller and my hands are near my USB keyboard in case I have to message people that landing the Hydra at full speed using the jet mode and killing themselves is the stupidest thing I've seen since some jackass though they can lose the Prison Break lasers by performing frontflips in a goddamn Velum.

People are starting to see the light on how much better it is.

As time goes on they will get better as less users are draining the juice from rockstars old spud server lol

I took a trip back to liberty city a few weeks back and i could only find 1 lobby with a handfull of modders but there was no lag at all (very grim and dingy place and yes i went bowling)

With last gen you only get half the game and that percentage will only slim down in the next coming months

 

Ah well...if i can get to beyond 130 mil before most of my contacts transfer im happy

PC user, just transferred from PS3 this Monday. But why PC and not the CG consoles? BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TO F*CKING PAY IF I WANT TO PLAY ONLINE WITH MY FRIENDS, goddamnit. And the guys thinking that PC is full of modders and hackers...they are terribly wrong. Rockstar's Banhammer of Justice & Punishment did a good job with them.
