I'm a PC player, but the experience is similar enough with CG consoles for me to say a little:

• Graphics are considerably better on CG
• CG is still getting content updates and the fixes that come with them, LG is perpetually stuck at IGG2
• CG is currently cheater-free
• If you're currently playing on PS3, upgrading to CG means you'll have to start paying monthly fees to your console overlords

 

I assume you mean ps plus n sh*t? That's yearly. Also when I don't feel like paying for it I make a sh*t ton of accs and do 2 week trials that carry over to main acc. I'd love to just move to my PC, but I can't leave my friends behind.

Only if you have a gaming desktop PC. If you're a laptop dude like me because I require a mobile computer, you get sent to PS1 graphics land.

If you can't afford the $4.16 - $5.00 a month to play online, maybe you should reconsider whether or not you should be purchasing a $300+ console to begin with. I mean, far be it from me to tell others how to spend their money, but if affording a whopping $5 a month is a strain on your budget then it only stands to reason that the money you've spent (or plan to spend) on the console + games could be put to better use.

What, you thought system updates, network maintenance, tech support employees, etc. just happened on its own at no-cost? Or were you just of the opinion that, because they're both multi-million dollar organizations, they should have to front all costs regardless?

I miss the days when people didn't sh*t on each other over two different consoles or PC. When we debate games, all 3 platforms (Xbox One, PS4, PC) players get along just fine, and normally that debate goes well as we look into what the pros and cons of said games are. Then we talk about consoles and all of a sudden, everyone loses their sh*t. PS4 and Xbox One are almost the EXACT same. PC has better graphical capability as well as FPS, but tends to be a bit more expensive and modders can be an issue. There are pros and cons to all three platforms. I own GTA V on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC, as well as a PS3 (No GTA on this though). Although PC is nice, it's a little confusing to do what I really wanted to do. Tried my hand at installing single player mods and had no idea what I was doing even after doing research so I gave up. Now I just use my PC game for looking into the files on Open IV. Hasn't been launched in months. Personally, I prefer console over PC any day. I love my Xbox One and I've had no issues with it at all. In the end, it comes down to preference. I personally dislike the PS4 controller as its button layout seems odd and the controller is to small for my big hands, however, others like it greatly.

 

TL;DR, People need to shut the f*ck up about this so called "console war" and enjoy their damn game.

That would actually be not a far off opinion. One of the main reasons I got a PS3 instead of a xBox 360 is because it costed more but had "free" online services. Basically it was all a one off charge. Considering that I would understand why anyone would not like this new change of both companies trying to become more similar to each other. There's less options now. I guess some people preferred that.

I agree. It has more shine but plays the same.

 

I moved because of R* abandoning LG but would happily have continued had they. It's kinda interesting how games companies deal differently with their releases spanning two console generations.

Valve pays for Steam servers that handle far more traffic than PSN and XBL combined. PSN is frequently DDoS'd and taken down by scriptkiddies, Steam stays up. PS3 had free online services, but they saw Microsoft making money for no reason and decided to make you pay too. If they really needed the money to upkeep their servers PS3 would have had subscriptions too.

Do you know who paid for the cost before? Developer licenses. If you want to make a game for Xbox or PS; the developer has to pay for a special license in order for them to do so. So now the developers and the customers are paying the console manufacturers to use their platform.

 

Steam is slightly different and they take a percentage cut of each sale. No double dipping on customers.

People are starting to see the light on how much better it is.

I still see modders in sessions so no they are not gone. Of course it isn't as bad as when the game first came out, but its still annoying that I run into them sometimes.

I was about to say the poll was a little biased, but I see monkey's already hated about that.

 

On topic, I started on the old consoles, and eventually got a current gen console.

 

It's better, but not to the point where I'd strongly recommend upgrading. There are a few more bits and pieces/vehicles to collect, and the VIP system is nice (means you've got better chances of getting a random to man the Valkyrie's cannon, for starters). Yachts are nice, but not really essential.

 

Sessions split a lot though, and I think that could be to do with the larger lobbies.

 

With GTA's P2P system, if even one person has a bad connection, it can mess things up for everyone. This was bad enough when you had to count on 16 people having good connections; now it's 30.

 

Overall, it's good though. I'd recommend waiting until there's something a bit more to justify the upgrade, like a TBOGT/TLAD style update (like in GTA IV), but if money's no problem then it doesn't hurt.

That's a poor analogy for two reasons. One, I never said I can't play. I play Payday just fine.

 

Two, you don't need a PSP for work, just like you don't need two computers because of redundancy.

It's nothing to do with how your laptop runs the game, just because your laptop doesn't run the game doesn't mean the PS4/Xbone version is better. GTA V PC is the definitive version.

As time goes on they will get better as less users are draining the juice from rockstars old spud server lol

I took a trip back to liberty city a few weeks back and i could only find 1 lobby with a handfull of modders but there was no lag at all (very grim and dingy place and yes i went bowling)

With last gen you only get half the game and that percentage will only slim down in the next coming months

I have it for PC and ps4. PC = dependent of your rig. I have a medium rig that can run at 60 fps and high settings. Ps4 = 30 fps and okay to look at. The 60 fps is great cause I'm old and 30 fps can annoy my eyes sometimes.

 

For me though, it's all about where my friends. I find gaming social and I tend to stay away from most SP games. The only reason I moved to PS4 when I did was because almost 80% of my friends moved in the first week of the next-gen release and I got very bored.

 

I've been on GTAO PC for a month but I've already met some people to game and race with.
