crate drops were just too much fun and chaos

 

i used to hate them because of the 2014 beerhats crate drop debacle, one of the most frustrating moments in gtao.

 

but after they got fixed, they were a lot of fun, huge battles, chaos and ofcourse the mandatory crate selfies haha

they should really try to re-introduce the old events into the game, the game can only benefit from having multiple events going at once!

From what was said a while back when the random events were removed it would not benefit the game to re-add them unless Rockstar figures out how to do it without totally breaking the game.

 

Apparently there was an issue with the timers that made it impossible to have the new freeroam events and the old random ones going at the same time so Rockstar completely dumped all the old events that were on a timer - Armored Trucks, crate drops, smuggler plane/helicopter, Lester target, distract cops, and the Simeon high priority vehicles - and added the new ones freeroam events while keeping the stuff like the Simeon car list.

Not only do I miss many of the random events that used to happen in free-mode but are now gone, I also miss all the hundreds of rich and varied random events that should have been in free-roam but never were.

 

Rokstar just has to look at RDR to see the replay value of a variety of random events and things to do in the virtual world.

Rockstar Games creates richest and most incredible virtual world open sandbox game ever, with unbelievable draw distance and pervasive physics, but can't figure out how to implement timers...

Depends what kind.

Being on old gen i still get regular crates, but there is rarely even money in it.

I miss the good old special crates with t-shirts in....i wish special crates woud never stop to exist...just for the fun of the hunt and the fighting and bitching afterwards

I also woud be curious wich current friends woud compete with me and wich ones woud take it personal XD

Some of my most triumphant GTA moments came during crate drops. Even Lost a GTA friend over one. It was me and him alone in the lobby. I managed to get it, and then the bastard refused to leave me alone constantly attacking me, and rage texting

Mine got his friends...lost 3 crates of me in one session and still got smoked XD

Instead of special crates that dropped cool t-shirts, I rather have t-shirts awarded at 10, 20, 30 and 50 tennis or darts or golf or arm wrestling match wins.

So I used to enjoy them until the time they gave us beer hats and I kept getting the same one. All that surviving and stress for a copy of what I had. That's when I lost interest in going after them.

God no. I collected all of them and still hate them. The way they give things out now is much better, and so are the new freemode events.
