what I do right now I leave gta online and wait til IL fully in story mode then close application from there. I'm curious if it's safe to just do it while in a gta online session without the chance of corruption or losing some progress that could've been gained before I close app.

If you want to make sure it's all saved, you can simply switch outfits, that should force the game to save your character data, just wait until the orange circle goes away like survivor said.

No, If you log off/turn off PS while you're still Online, Just shutting it down and then trying to go back to it only to be stuck in empty lobbies as the game is trying to get online though old ports

I dont log off GTA Online, i just turn it off or close the application, i dont lose anything, and i can get back on no problem

Better to go to story mode, then close it. I've always had a problem where it acts like a soft reset next time I play if I don't (settings reset, agree to terms again)

If I make a balks up when I'm about to glitch VIP timer again and I forget, and it runs if I immediately turn off console when eventually loaded back in the timer still hasn't ruin out , so if you instant quit online you will spawn back in next time at a point the cloud last saved you characters info , sometimes only few mins bitvbeen up-to 45 mins before back on timer
