Not clear on how to search/contact players online...

So, for instance: I see someone on this forum who posts their player tag and seems like a cool person to team up with or trade race wins or whatever. I cannot figure out how to search for them in the actual online game in order to send a friend request, general message, invite to job, etc.

 

I searched the forum before I posted this, so call me stupid, but between that, if there is a way to find and contact players in the game, lemme know.

What console are you playing on?

You can either pull up your in game phone and message them whilst in the lobby.

Or press pause, go to online, players and select the player you want to speak to and either send a message from there or view gamercard/profile to access friend requests etc

Hoping this helps you some.... I search for one's GT (xbox) or PSN through the console's through the console's "add friends". Once added from there you can find them through your start menu, as MrRyan described ~ good luck!

If it's PSN just go to search in the friends section & if you have the app you can do it from there as well

I have a list of friends and I know how to make friend requests from the players that are on a mission or in the session, what I wanted to do was search by name alone for someone that might not be in that session. Like, if I wanted to send a friend request to any of you who have posted in this thread, is there a way to do that? Can you even do that from this site and somehow have it connected to the actual gameplay?

Your best bet would b to search for the GT yor lookin for via the add friends option on your console...

You can't add from this forum ...and often members' tags here are not the same as their PSN name/ID. I also don't think you can search for new friends in-game?

But once you do have friend added on PSN they will automatically be connected to your "GTA friends list". Then when you pull up your in-game start menu and go to friends, you can see who is currently playing GTA. You can then choose to join their game (session) or send an invite to your session. I am not sure if there is a way to invite "all" friends online though?

 

Fell free to add me (PSN ID same) ...someone mentioned the PSN app, it's great for quickly adding and searching
