I can't believe they f*cking patched that gate glitch.I'm on x360,every day I get stupid, annoying errors, tons of them. For example,I do 2 or 3 jobs, then when I go back to freeroam and try to join a quick job again,it says "failed to job or join an activity" and I know whole community get this error.I don't have to dashboard to continue playing a game.I submit a ticket about it,they answer like "send us a video about it",I send them a video and their reply is "check your connection" .I don't have any connection issues, playing with a wired connection. This is a fun-free game with stupid rockstar things. And what about on-call host bullsh*t? idiots join a quick job as "on-call host" and the job won't start until lobby gets full.I'm about to snipe someone, stupid character steps forward and closes the scope,I got killed by that person. What the f*ck?! I'm tired, that's why I stopped playing this game because they don't give a sh*t about it,especially for x360 and ps3

I don't agree. It will negate the point of being a VIP. They shouldn't remove the perks of being a VIP just to satisfy some kiddies.

Are you suggesting that the entire point of being a VIP is cool outfits? The ability to have bodyguards who earn you money, challenges, missions, activites and the ability to spawn a sh*tload of stuff isn't enough?

I want to hear from you people on what you have to say about rockstar when it comes to patching harmless glitches and taking away our VIP, bodyguard, and modded outfits without even telling us why they did so. Also I'm frustrated with their inability to communicate with their fans.

Regarding the VIP outfits, I think they should just add them to be bought in freeroam. And a whole lot of other clothes should be availabe as well. They're all in the game anyway, yet Rockstar decides that they're too goddamn cool for us lousy players to wear?

Do you really believe that VIPs really only care about the outfits? Lol f*ck off with that sh*t you dense mf.

The majority of freeroam VIP players wear their own clothes anyways. Harder to stand out.

seriously get it through your heads, THERE ARE NO HARMLESS GLITCHES......

when you are glitching stuff (even the dumb outfits) you are making the game do stuff that IT IS NOT PROGRAMMED TO DO... and in doing that it can potentially cause major issues in the long run, and to prevent that Rockstar has no choice but to patch them to keep some big issue(s) from coming up as a potential result.

They don't patch the glitches unless they are going to cause issues - they held off on patching the two gate launch glitches for a little bit a while back, but ended up having to step in when problems started happening as a result.

What about the hat+mask glitch? I've had this glitched outfit for almost a year now, and the servers for last gen are still running.

As far as the gate launch glitches go, they had no choice because some big issues came up as a result.

for example when I did one of them, it launched me clear across the map to the power station going about 800 miles and hour and caused my screen to go totally black (I could see my character though)..

They left them alone up until they started causing issues at which point they had to step in to avoid major issues.

Rockstar is clueless when it comes to the outfit glitches. I have had 4 outfits with nothing glitched on them deleted, (the other outfits that were untouched also had nothing glitched on them) and so has a lot of other players and then the players that have glitched outfits have had the same thing happen where their non-glitched outfits got deleted but their glitched outfits have not...

honestly I could care less about the people who have glitched outfits like the one you described, it's the invisible body part outfits that need to be dealt with immediately but the point still stands in that those hat/mask glitches are not necessarily harmless, since as previously said when glitching you are making the game do things that it is not programmed to do....

It's pretty ironic since Grand Theft Auto itself comes from a glitch...

NO FUN ALLOWED

so you would rather have the game not work? ok then. If Rockstar does not step in and patch a lot of these glitches the game could very well end up being completely unplayable...

and the "no fun allowed" point is invalid seeing as they did leave the gate launch glitches alone for quite some time and ONLY stepped in when they started causing problems, and also since they never once touched the swingset of death launch glitch on GTA IV.

You just said there are no harmless glitches, even stressed in caps. I pointed out basic outfit glitches as an example to tackle your point.

someone got a reply from Rockstar about this, I knew I should have saved it.....

they basically said that players are unaware the problems so called "harmless glitches" caused, they said this themselves, they also said if there is any glitch people would like returned they should email them a request to have it restored......pretty reasonable if you ask me...people are quick to talk about what they don't even know

I agree the vip clothes should be availble but that update just came out, it takes away from the whole exclusivness of being a bodyguard/ vip if all the outfits are available for everyone, we will get more clothes eventually calm down

Cowards is rather strong op. I understand that glitched outfits affect the game's stability and cause problems elsewhere. Having said that, it would be polite of R* to just let players create their own outfit combos instead of just removing them.

How do you know? What examples of 'stability issues' can you provide? Did Rockstar say themselves that glitched outifts cause stability issue within the game?

What type of experience do you have with coding, software design, graphical design, video game design, or networking on a million+ user scale? Any at all in any of those areas? No? Then shut your mouth and listen to others when they tell you that coding isn't an exact science and one change over here can have drastic changes over there.

Seriously, do people these days even shut up long enough to listen, or realize how stupid they sound when they go on about topics clearly are clueless about. Or is it that people are so entitled these days that they can't here anything over themselves going "gimme, gimme, gimme".

I suspect patching glitches aligns with some corporate policy about game appearance and functionality - in other words they don't see most glitches as harmless. Imagine the extreme, car parts glitched onto the wrong cars, multiple hats and masks doubled over and glitched with glasses... everyone would say GTA was junk, looked like junk, and that R* programming was junk. The easy way is to make them all separate, for variety, and simplicity, and stop people from making their game look like crap.

When you overlay a mask and a hat, I know, it generally it looks okay, but there can be weird clipping or other problems - and I agree that R* should make all the clothes, masks, hats, glasses etc. work together, masks + helmets the obvious one - but it's obvious why they don't do it. You would need to create alternate versions of every possible combination of masks, hats, glasses and whatever so that each one looks right. A mask is a certain radius around your head, but with a helmet, it need to be clipped, and so on. Do you have any idea the number of combos they would have to generate? At least 50 masks * 50 hats * 50 glasses = 125,000 possible combinations.

For variety and appearance, we have all the hats and masks and glasses and clothes that we have, and for simplicity (as much as possible in a complex game) some of them are just never going to work together.

Good job of evading the question.

Let me ask it again, do you know how coding works on a level that you could write your own and have it function properly?

Alas I have no proof, it's just a theory that I have seen posted on the forums. It does make sense that unintentional glitches would affect the game elsewhere.

I did pose the question regarding glitched outfits affecting game play to R* support some 24 hours ago and just received feedback. Not quite what I expected as they apologized for my lost outfits (which I didn't even say) and credited me with $200'000.

All I can say is thank you Liz T

There's 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Basically to sum up this post, we don't know if the glitches they remove were harmless for certain. That VIP outfit glitch did actually cause more lag then usual.

There are 2 types of people in the world, 1's and 0's

Don't be a 0

The pun was 10 in binary is the number 2 in decimal.

No need to pretend or make stuff up if you didn't understand.

*facepalm*

Haven't you watched Mr.Robot?

I really wish people would think before posting. Just looked it up now. Maybe you should watch it again. The scene doesn't say there's two types of people in the world. It says there's two types of choices you can make, to do something or not do something. Since binary is literally a on and off signal (where 0 is off and 1 is on) that would make sense.

slowburn29 said was that there's two types of people in the world, those who act (1) and those who don't act (0). People can and should do both based on the choice. Either he doesn't understand binary or how reality works.

Arrows to Athens

Cowards is rather strong op. I understand that glitched outfits affect the game's stability and cause problems elsewhere.

So whether something as basic as glitched outfits causes stability issues should not be subject to question? I was merely asking for examples which would confirm his claim that it does cause stability issues. I've never seen Rockstar themselves say that glitched outfits cause stability issues, and I have had a glitched mask and hat glitch for almost a year now, and I'm not experiencing any issues. I don't need to be designer or programmer to know this.

You should really look at yourself in the mirror and think before you spout nonsensical rubbish, Professor.

Good job of evading the question.

Let me ask it again, do you know how coding works on a level that you could write your own and have it function properly?

No, I don't, and I don't need to. It has nothing to do with what's being discussed here. I merely asked what kind of stability issues do outfit glitches cause, and I requested some evidence to confirm this. Now, how does that require me to understand how coding and programming works? lmao

Why are you bringing in something completely irrelevant?

Oh, and now that I've answered your irrelevant question, please answer mine.

If someone claims that outfit glitches causes stability issues, should that not be subject to question? I don't see what's wrong about asking what kind of issues it causes, and I certainly don't see why I should have some degree in coding and programming in order to do so.

In an effort to answer your question, and I'm no expert either here, but I think there is a reason that certain combos of clothing cannot go together. It's probably because the body meshes are different and cause your character to glitch out. Like you can only wear some shirts with the proper jackets and vests or how some vests only go with some of the jackets, etc. If this goes unchecked and too many people are doing it at once, well I dunno, maybe it could cause a a bigger problem with so many different data streams flying around. In a full lobby? Could cause major slowdown I'm assuming. Like I said, I'm no super expert here, but I know if assets are no made to fit together it can cause problems when they are touching or are loaded up improperly. Hopefully someone with more programming knowledge can enlighten us?

There's nothing harmless about it. Those outfits for VIPs for example are meant to be exclusive for the VIP missions. That's how people do the invisible body parts glitch. There ain't nothing harmless about shooting somebody in free mode and the only thing you can see is their head.

Rockstar ain't some teenage kid you can provoke with inverted psychology.

Calling them "a coward" won't help.
