Does it stand out to any of you guys? I can't see anything other than a man on horse-back. It wouldn't be out of the question for R* to give a little nod to RDR, and several shadow/light eggs have been found already. Whether or not it's actually deliberate, I think it's fairly pronounced for an imagination. Also, using an image taken of another planet is a slightly different thing to something purpose built for a video game. This is not an easter egg. An easter egg would be a subtle, but explicit, reference to something else. The Thelma and Louise scene, the No Country for Old Men scene, the ghost, the Infinite8 killer, These are easter eggs. A collection of shadows that vaguely resembles a guy on a horse, that has to be viewed from directly above, is not an easter egg. It's just a nice coincidence. Usually I dismiss this kind of thing immediately, but when I stumbled on it, it literally jumped out at me. I was trying to make a comparison to show that sometimes we see things that aren't actually there. The face on Mars looks like a face but doesn't mean it was made by Martians, just like the shadows in the hills look (vaguely) like a man on a horse doesn't mean it was meant to be a RDR easter egg made by R*.I get that. My point is it's easier to justify a shadow replicating an image in a video game than it is to justify a face on a planet nobody has ever set foot on. That said, I've stated several times that I'm not adamant that this is an egg. I posted it for others to check out. It just happened to stand out for me, a lot more than these types of things usually do. Life moves on. When there's so many obvious and easy to find ones in the game, I mean, they're pretty much everywhere, from the scenes, S&F missions, litter on the ground, even... this would be such an oblique easter egg that it would hardly be worth the effort. I really don't get your approach here. You're making it seem like I'm desperate for this to be something.. You have a bunch of people falling over themselves because an X was found on the ground. You have the jetpack dude shadow on the rock at the altruist camp. There are hundreds of subtle references to things that nobody would ever notice. Just because something is a shadow doesn't mean it isn't deliberate. But again, I'm willing to concede that this is nothing. I've stated that several times. People are always going to find things that might be something, and that's great as people are still looking and finding things. I'm just saying this isn't something. I'm not like, I dunno, calling you an idiot or anything, there's plenty of people here that specialise in that kind of discussion and I don't want to be one of those. All I'm saying is that Rockstar put a lot more effort into their eggs than this. And this only just barely looks like a guy on a horse, rather than looking exactly like a guy on a horse.
