Based on the cost of items in the game, the double money pay rate strikes a better balance between nudging us toward grinding and giving items away for free than the default pay rate.

I agree that the payouts need a good re-balancing. A lot of things need re-balancing. There are modes that nobody plays because they don't make enough money doing them. Nobody wants to do their daily objectives because it is hard to find a lobby. There have been many suggestions on this forum on how to correct these things. I really hope Rockstar does an update just rebalancing things, and fixing bugs. Basically an update with all of the suggestions in the "What small/minor features does GTAO need?" thread.

I agree. Most people agree. I would wager even Rockstar agrees, but it would be unwise to so readily make it easier for everyone to make money when 2x RP events are made out to be a big deal and keep interest in the game.

Actually, even if it paid one million GTA$ per millisecond both to winners and losers, I wouldn't play rally races

I'll have to try later, but me and my friend were running jobs right after it ended last night, and we still got double payouts, in a little while I'll do a job and see if I still get double payouts.

Yes, it continues to run the double pay tunables so long as you leave the console on rest mode instead of turning it off, and as long as you stay in gta online. Anyway , on topic, i think double pay would be too much, but 50% more would be reasonable. Additionally, i think they should reballance the time\payout scale, to make it EVEN clearer that it's better to work fast rather than to wait 15 mins.

PS4 in rest mode overnight, turned it on again and have been playing the last hour or so, still pulling x2 $ and RP. Can definitely confirm NateAssasin's post. Still paying out double.

 

OT: I agree the payouts need a good re-balance, with the new DLC so expensive and only getting chump change for the work required on some contact missions, it can't hurt. I've got no problem with having to grind out job after job to make $ but with the outrageous cost of DLC items, getting paid next to nothing really kills the whole buzz for me, especially when playing time is limited. The last 5 days have been very enjoyable and I'm glad I finally got to buy a lot of the things I've wanted for quite a while.

 

I know there's good money in VIP work but that's not everyone's cup of tea. Instead of adding a new adversary mode every few weeks they should buff payouts across the other jobs, that'd get people playing again.

I wouldn't mind a very hard option that gives double money but no extra lives and if someone dies, the mission is a failure.

I don't think so. I felt kinda bad for Gerald that he had to pay 4 people 30k for a single kilo of coke.

Even if it was 100% pure, he'd still have to cut that sh*t so much to only get a tiny profit...

I don't think they really need rebalancing.. it'd make working for things way too boring and make me lose interest in obtaining money or RP quickly. The one thing I will say R* need to revamp is their 'get paid more for taking longer' approach, I personally liked it when missions paid out the same regardless of how quickly or slowly you passed the mission. That's honestly the only reason I can't play missions with randoms, they get the package and just sit around for 15 mins.. Assbackwards logic.

If The Los Santos Connection payed 50k, I'd happily play it more often. I mean come on, it is the longest mission.

If double pay becomes the new 'normal' pay then all DLC will cost double too.

 

No need to change anything except re-balance stuff that pays little or nothing. Anyone like to play golf? It's good fun now and again, but would be even more fun if it actually paid something.

Then I remembered why I don't play contact missions... Reach a high enough level and some missions only pay you 5k.

It's stupid that they pay more the longer you take... Shouldn't it be the other way around? A reward for doing better, which results in a faster completion...?

The whole day yesterday I ended up becoming disappointed when a mission only paid 21,000. Some of these missions need to pay double thier standard rate because 4/5 minutes for a hair overy 10 grand isn't worth anyone's time.

Totally agree...you can spend 45 minutes to an hour depending on how large your party is and get next to nothing for your efforts. I still enjoy playing it though.

Same with Tennis. I like to play it quite a lot (finding players is a bastard though :lol: ), yet it only rewards RP. 3000RP for 3 sets just isn't worth it.

While I agree, if you just engage the noodle for a few minutes it isn't hard to figure out how to maximize money earned with time spent. In fact, people were doing it on here.

 

Private lobby. Complete missions in about 4 minutes. Rinse, wash, repeat. Not complicated.

But for some reason nobody like race that are that long even though they do mission or heist all the time that takes double the time. So the end result, is 90% of the races are not even 4min long, so races payout is really sh*tty.

 

Other exemple would be parachute. They payout is so bad because the activity doesnt last long. IMO you should be able to get the same amount of money in a hour of doing mission or a hour of doing parachute jump. It also goes for any other game modes. When i went to get money I do heist or mission but if all the game mode payout were the same I would play a lot more of everything.

They only give RP, no CASH!

 

And what about 0$ payout for darts? A bit naff, but it's fun sometimes.

 

And shooting ranges? No payout, but good fun now and again.

 

And arm wrestling. Waggling the analogue stick like an 8-bit console nutter for 30 seconds... for 0$.

 

Is there anything else? These are examples of content that needs payout rebalancing.

Agreed. And I'm still enjoying it. Put my system in restmode twice and still have the double payouts. Last week I was lvl 252, now I'm 280. I'll continue to 300, then I'll let it go.

Everytime i join a public race.. i always see the same dumb type of hosts. That really should not even be a host,, but for some reason get all the players.

 

Making 1-2 minute races. even tho they could just add an extrea lap or two and increase the pay out.. they don't.

 

I can understand sh*tty short point to point races.. theres no way to increase the time spent on those tracks. But when its Down Town Under Ground for example, they keep it on two laps. WHy not just jack it to 5-6 laps and get a full pay. It boggles my mind...lol
