New Rhino Hunt adversary mode is ASS

No, but you don't have to do it in one life, of course. Just now I stood behind cover while three teammates constantly went for the tank like headless chicken. they kept dying and I kept standing there throwing stickies. I took 40% of the tanks health within the first 20 seconds of the mission, because the tank was preoccupied with my teammates. I ended up taking about 80% of the health and getting the kill in three lives. Even on Zancudo it's pretty easy to let your teammates swarm the tank and to approach it from the other side. As I said earlier, this way you can get about 3 or more stickies in, which takes a lot of health. Manage to do this three times and the tank's gone. Easy, as long as your teammates are idiotic cannon fodder you can use them

I guess. What if the tank just turns to shoot you instead though (as opposed to the cannon fodder teammates)?

If you want to rack up some easy kills, this is the mode for you. I'll dub it "Tank vs Fools".

Seriously, what are Rockstar even thinking? People will drop this imbalanced crap so fast.

yeah... this mode is garbage.

and so is that lvl 8. not because he is level 8 though.

It's really not that difficult to get a kill. Just wait for a teammate to go and follow him. The tank can't kill both of you before either one gets to throw at least three stickies. Choose when to move in to throw some stickies and you'll damage the tank a lot

I don't think it needs 3 stickies does it? These are buffed tanks, old style. They'll need a lot more than that.

Besides, these modes are set in large, open spaces. The tank has plenty of time to spot an attacker coming, and if they don't manage to shoot the attacker from a distance, they really don't deserve to win.

Then my teammates can get about 2 stickies in if they're not as incompetent at aiming as they are at tactically approaching the tank. Either way, the tank gets damaged and dies after a few deaths of your own.

It's quite simple. A few of your team plays the role of cannon fodder and you damage the tank by using them as cover. And if the tank sees through your plan, he essentially chooses to let the cannon fodder damage him

Well, to be fair, I haven't actually tried this mode yet, so I can't claim to be an expert on it.

Just seems to me though that the hunters would never even get close enough for a sticky bomb to reach - all the maps are in wide open spaces, where the tank can just pick you off.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it just looks pretty garbage to me.

Bingo. We have a winner.

Hunters are given slowest vehicles in the god damn game, either offroad or faggio. Rhinos can happily go for easy killing spree. Areas are on airports and huge open areas and you cant do nothing as a hunter. Easily my least favourite adv mode.

AMs typically are. The Slashers AM were the best I think.

If you thought I was going to take time out of my day for this s**t, you're mistaken.

Maybe we should have a poll. I wonder how many people actually like these modes?

It feels incomplete.

What if the game involved the hunters driving tall vehicles trying to drive under the tank's threads and self destruct (copyrighted LSPD technique in stopping tanks, f-ing kill yourself), but the tank can't fire his turret. The tank has to swat the hunters away with his turret.

Doing a poll is your choice. They mean nothing to me.

I'm reminded of that mission in mgs1 where you have to take out a tank on foot.

With grenades only, I remember that

It's not a particularly well balanced game mode - anyone who is semi-decent with a Rhino should win pretty easily...

...I actually prefer Rockets vs. Insurgents - and that's saying something...

what else did you expect or want?

Personally, I wanted something new and different. I agree with you that it's nice to have new stuff and that some people will be happy with it - that's all cool. I'm just patiently waiting for my turn.

No doubt about it! I hope you get what you desire soon man.

I used to type in big bold yellow obnoxious letter...."Deathmatch Filter Please" and I got one. Not perfect, but got one. lol.

And yeah most people won't be happy with the Rhino mode as most people won't find it fun to run away from a tank. It's not easy. lol

@Day Reaper. They want all supercars for a dollar and to fight zombie ninjas with jetpacks.

Hey I want to drive a dinosaur with a spoiler, so I hear them. lol.

This new mode is definitely catering to those tank lovers and that's not a bad thing. Bashing the game mode expecting it to turn out different from the description is interesting.

Looks like the consensus is they gave the hunters very little to hide behind.

Haven't played yet but I wonder if you can throw a bunch of stickies on a teammate's car then three of you bum rush a bunch to occupy the tank while the suicide car waits in cover for a good opportunity to strike?

Actually, it looks just like an actual Ford Crown Vic as opposed to the Vapid Stanier. Huh.

Yes. You can. 5 per person.

@Day. I know you pvp a lot. I bet you would do well even as a hunter.

Haha yep. That car should have exploded, given the nature of the Rhino in the actual game. It doesn't even look damaged, except for broken windows.

Played it once l, never again. Can't win more than 5k a round and it's double money. Without double cash that's 2.5k a round if you WIN. Never again. I miss the Dropzone week.

I guess if you get the Kill 20 Players for one of your Objectives, than this mode will make achieving that a piece of cake.

Just got to pray you get the right team lol.

Maybe we could ask C* to add "Get killed 20 times" as a Daily Objective

Well if you have no will to connect and communicate with other players then you wait for them to be around the tank, you can't kill 4 cars at once if they are on 4 different sides of you, you'll progressively have to turn the turret and tank to get each one (noted they are also moving. By the time the tank has made a quarter rotation and killed 2 people, the other two are either close or have a good opportunity to attack. If you, being the sentient one with the understanding that you must attack the back, is one of the two, even if the other guy isn't then you've practically won. It takes 6 sticky bombs to the back on the take to destroy it, you can throw 5, so if you detonate and add one more or attack when the tank has already taken damage then you win (method per tank of course - with 2 tanks it would be done twice or with 2 separate teams of people.) The game mode isn't designed bad, the design is just simple to different and alien to what we understand grand theft auto to be. Gta online is seen as an mmorpg, it technically is because it is a multiplayer online game that is on what we see to be a massive scale (for Western rpgs), and it does have role playing elements that vary depending on who you are (ex: Icantthinkofonew the helicopter enthusiast and pilot, SIXGOD666 the street level criminal.) Generally the game is an action/adventure, adventure because of the story and the exploring and such, and action because of the shooting and running and driving and so on and so forth. But what we never really acknowledge is that gta online is part strategy. there are 16 different ways to drive cars due to different traction, speed, acceleration, etc being different across hundreds of vehicles. This means there is a right way to drive each vehicle so you have full control of the vehicle itself and the concept of what the vehicle does on its own, that's strategy. This game mode is the same way, you have to think about what you are going to do before you do it and then wait for the right time to attack. Things like that don't line up with your typical "Go around and kill everyone" gta logic because at heart it's action/adventure. The problem isn't the game mode being terrible, it's just that a lot of us are not in sync with that style of play, we don't get the strategy aspect or we just don't care because we have grown into the idea that everything plays the same - kill kill kill. Just my 2 cents anyway.

If you want me to use strategy, don't make sh*t so unbalanced, don't make sticky throwing a lottery where one lands 2 feet from you and the other 2 blocks away, get rid of lag. You're trying to say that we should use strategy on a game designed to be the complete opposite.
