Oh another new adversary mode? The amount of stuff in this game that I never even try is getting bigger and bigger.

Sounds horrible. Is it called "$99,999,999,999 & 99,999,999,999RP"?

Hunters are given slowest vehicles in the god damn game, either offroad or faggio. Rhinos can happily go for easy killing spree. Areas are on airports and huge open areas and you cant do nothing as a hunter. Easily my least favourite adv mode.

Wait. What exactly did you think it was going to be like?

Well I guess not everyone was around for the Tank Murders early on in the game release.

That is basically what the mode sounded like to me from just reading the description...

"We have turned Tank griefing into a game mode, we even buffed the tank back up. You sticky bomb throwers, lets hope you don't get spotted while throwing the stickies at the Rhinos, enjoy."

This is a great mode for those that enjoy trying to destroy tanks and those that enjoy going on rampages with the tank.

I won't be playing it but not going to bash it because someone in GTAV land is happy this morning.

Plus what else did you expect or want..........BEAST vs TANK?

Don't worry, I'm sure R* is working on that mode. lol

There does seem to be a discount on effect btw (buzzard is $1.3m - buy one). Not online myself so not sure details.

Personally, I wanted something new and different. I agree with you that it's nice to have new stuff and that some people will be happy with it - that's all cool. I'm just patiently waiting for my turn.

You guys have to keep in mind that this game is very expansive in who it reaches out to, so it's not odd that there will be modes that not everybody likes. They will use the 2xrp&$ as a clincher to draw people into the mode and anyone who does like it sticks around, anyone who doesn't moves on to the next thing. These are gamemodes , not content, so you shouldn't expect these things to speak to all the people. On a related note I just got 5 consecutive wins as the hunter, the trick I used is you get right up behind the *back* of the tank, right in its blind spot where the turret can only shoot over you, and throw 5 sticky bombs (the maximum number allowed) and repeat or get your team to help. Killed one tank 20 seconds into the mode. It ain't that bad, you guys looked too fast perhaps? It just takes strategy and/or teamwork.

With the radar on, nobody with some degree of awareness should be letting any car get that close to the tank. Seriously, it takes ONE tank shell to destroy a car. If the tank can't land a single shell before a car gets to it, then it's the tank driver being absolutely awful. In the two games I played as tank (4 rounds), they tried flanking me, sneaking on me, rushing me. None of it worked, because I was watching the radar to spot them and aiming carefully once I had visual. I'm not even a regular PvP player, I have barely 1200 player kills at rank 270. Honestly, I felt dirty about winning on all occasions. Even if I had "lost", I would have gotten 20+ kills before being destroyed so it wouldn't have felt like a loss.

I get the idea that "not everything is for everyone". I completely agree that this is not the game mode for me. At the same time, I can say that this mode is badly designed and I don't see anything to convince me otherwise.

I've been playing since day one, and have been on both sides of the old de - nerfed tanks.

It is absolutely unfair to pit even a nerfed tank against a dune buggy, when the driver of said dune buggy can't even get out to hide on a roof or something. But the old de - nerfed tank? That's insane.

It is a disgustingly one sided mode.

Almost seems like one of those spawn traps players make

Next Adversary Mode: Homing Missiles vs Stunters

give the Stunters bikes and shotguns and it could actually be pretty fun. The agility of bikes is enough to dodge homing misses and the shotguns would balance not being able to run people over easily on a bike. Imagine the backflips over rockets.

It's one sided all right. If you completely disregard all the players that won when they were in dune buggys.

Not much of a surprise when looking at how the other adversary mode missions are.

Honestly every one of the adversary modes are a big joke and just plain suck.

No not really.

Not all Adversary Modes suck.

Some people suck at some adversary modes

and that is why they are not enjoyable.

Take TDDUP, i'm nearly undefeated in that and only time i've died is with a random. Throw me in slasher and I die, even when im the slasher, i get flashlighted to the face and die all the time.

My least favorite is Siege Mentality, but even that has value when you want to initiate or screen a future crew member to see how he can handle attackers.

Where are they then? I don't see them.

All this mode has shown us is the true colours of everyone on this forum. People who actually care about balance have denounced this mode. People who just like to whine at things that kill them (like you), have unknowingly shown up that you don't care one bit about balance.

If you haven't tried this game mode, dont.

It's absolute rubbish, so unbalanced it's ridiculous. If you end up on "Hunter" team, may aswell just quit, youre not going to win or even get a chance in a tank.

Timer is far too short for how tough the tanks actually are. Enough time to MAYBE destroy one, not a chance to destroy two though.

You will end up with 30+ deaths and 0 kills.

R*, complete waste of time. Worst game mode on GTA now.

What I hate most is that even if you contribute the most to killing a tank, it's usually someone else who dishes out the last blow and gets the full kill

Impossible. No one gets a kill on the mighty rhino. Unless you are a skilled hunter.

It's really not that difficult to get a kill. Just wait for a teammate to go and follow him. The tank can't kill both of you before either one gets to throw at least three stickies. Choose when to move in to throw some stickies and you'll damage the tank a lot

This is starting to sound like Walker Assault on Hoth (from Battlefront). If you're the rebels then you either play as a team or you lose.

I don't think it needs 3 stickies does it? These are buffed tanks, old style. They'll need a lot more than that.

Besides, these modes are set in large, open spaces. The tank has plenty of time to spot an attacker coming, and if they don't manage to shoot the attacker from a distance, they really don't deserve to win.

Well maybe R* have finally clicked to this and trying to create a mode to get players to finally work together as a team but we both know what

can happen in Battlefront without the team work, I keep getting this feeling they're borrowing ideas from other games as much as possible right

now and this is very close to Walker Assault.

I guess if you get the Kill 20 Players for one of your Objectives, than this mode will make achieving that a piece of cake.

On a side note, does any of Lester's Services work like Staying off Radar, or Revealing Players?

Well if you have no will to connect and communicate with other players then you wait for them to be around the tank, you can't kill 4 cars at once if they are on 4 different sides of you, you'll progressively have to turn the turret and tank to get each one (noted they are also moving. By the time the tank has made a quarter rotation and killed 2 people, the other two are either close or have a good opportunity to attack. If you, being the sentient one with the understanding that you must attack the back, is one of the two, even if the other guy isn't then you've practically won. It takes 6 sticky bombs to the back on the take to destroy it, you can throw 5, so if you detonate and add one more or attack when the tank has already taken damage then you win (method per tank of course - with 2 tanks it would be done twice or with 2 separate teams of people.) The game mode isn't designed bad, the design is just simple to different and alien to what we understand grand theft auto to be. Gta online is seen as an mmorpg, it technically is because it is a multiplayer online game that is on what we see to be a massive scale (for Western rpgs), and it does have role playing elements that vary depending on who you are (ex: Icantthinkofonew the helicopter enthusiast and pilot, SIXGOD666 the street level criminal.) Generally the game is an action/adventure, adventure because of the story and the exploring and such, and action because of the shooting and running and driving and so on and so forth. But what we never really acknowledge is that gta online is part strategy. there are 16 different ways to drive cars due to different traction, speed, acceleration, etc being different across hundreds of vehicles. This means there is a right way to drive each vehicle so you have full control of the vehicle itself and the concept of what the vehicle does on its own, that's strategy. This game mode is the same way, you have to think about what you are going to do before you do it and then wait for the right time to attack. Things like that don't line up with your typical "Go around and kill everyone" gta logic because at heart it's action/adventure. The problem isn't the game mode being terrible, it's just that a lot of us are not in sync with that style of play, we don't get the strategy aspect or we just don't care because we have grown into the idea that everything plays the same - kill kill kill. Just my 2 cents anyway.

No, but you don't have to do it in one life, of course. Just now I stood behind cover while three teammates constantly went for the tank like headless chicken. they kept dying and I kept standing there throwing stickies. I took 40% of the tanks health within the first 20 seconds of the mission, because the tank was preoccupied with my teammates. I ended up taking about 80% of the health and getting the kill in three lives. Even on Zancudo it's pretty easy to let your teammates swarm the tank and to approach it from the other side. As I said earlier, this way you can get about 3 or more stickies in, which takes a lot of health. Manage to do this three times and the tank's gone. Easy, as long as your teammates are idiotic cannon fodder you can use them

ok, just played a few rounds of rhino hunt and the there sre only 2 words i can think of to describe this mode...

SPAWN TRAP!

its the closest thing to a spawn trap deathmatch you would get without actually joining a spawn trap death match.

thumbs-down.jpg

2/10 - Chances of me joining again are slim to none!

You can easily get 20 kills with a lazer or grief a low level 20 times or just play a spawntrap DM.

Lester doesn't awnser his phone in this mode.
