Are Mansions Rockstar's last "Ace in the hole"?

The trend of Updates since Heist's came out last year has been each one being more, and more expensive. We've had $10 million planes. Stilt Houses, and new Customized Apartments. A new Mod Shop with uber expensive upgrades. Horns, and Clothing getting up in the $50K and up range. Even Yachts which will set you back at least $7million. Since Shark Cards are Rockstar's main revenue now for GTA V, there's only a few things they can release that'll keep that flow going. Mostly new cars, and pricey upgrades. Could they be holding back Mansions for when the Shark Card sales really start to diminish? Mansions have been one of the most requested additions for GTAO, and if that's the last really big expensive thing left, then of course Rockstar will save it to reboost Shark Card sales.

I am guessing the next big update will open the casino and give us mansions. I have no information on this, but think that this could happen just based on the feedback I see here of what people want.

 

To me, if they create mansions with nothing to do in them (like play darts, some reason for people to gather there), this is probably a wasted effort. I have found at least 2 pool tables in LS, would be cool if they added pool to the game. Sure is fun speculating though.

There is an infinite universe of ideas to draw from. Map expansion would be more more significant than mansions. So would opening a functioning casino/race track.

 

I think you are maybe confusing "I want mansions" with this somehow being the ultimate thing that Rock Star could do. Far from it in my mind.

Yes, this is the funny thing. Those of us that have real life casino experience know this is a shell game meant to separate you from your money. Yet, this is the thing many of us want (I understand it would be an entertainment EXPENSE not a form of income).

Someone else pointed out to me a link for a second real estate company when you click on the internet services on the phone. When that link appears, the website says "coming soon" and he speculated this could be for high end properties to include the mansions. Now granted, I think there are other sites you can click on that say coming soon and no reason they couldn't just add it to the present real estate site, but it's a thought.

When people talk about activities in mansions, the first thing mentioned is often darts. Why? Lawn darts maybe, but darts? C'mon people...

 

I like the 1/2 court Bball idea. Personally, I'd like to see the return and improvement on some of the meta video games from IV and SA. Maybe multiplayer versions.

I'd want the expansion seamlessly joined though. So you can fly from one part to another (or even drive if they made some roads to link the places together).

Personaly I don't expect GTA 6 in the next 4-5 years. I expect it to be release on next gen or at the very end of current gen like gta 5. Rockstar will probably release RDR before any other GTA and RDR isnt even announce yet.... So keep dreaming is my advice

For the casino, it's sad to say but I agree with you. Or if they put gambling they will put a really low limit like 1000$ max on a poker or blackjack game. We will never see Highroller poker for sure.

It's already in the game files, all made up city. Just add a few properties, a mod shop, ammu nation, and kvik e mart.

 

Probably no more work would go into that, than Benny's (when they initially started brainstorming and creating it).

 

I want North Yankton and the Casino, and of course... More cars... You can never have too many cars.

Casino would make R* money, as long as they manage to make it glitch free.

 

When you consider the intelligence of your average GTA player, they'll just keep playing and playing, using real money and keep losing.

That's cool that that is what YOU want. My question is, what is the motivation for Rock Star to do this and not just develop another game they can charge $60 for? Yes, there are shark cards, but remember, they made a billion dollars the first weekend on GTA V. I just don't see a substantial map expansion like another whole city like people are clamoring for. Not seein' it Lloyd!!

Actually with the wide variance in gambling laws within different countries, having a casino that you can use real money to purchase in-game money would make it a major pain in the ass for Rockstar. I can't see a casino being added

From my experience North Yankton is barely functional and would require a lot of work to make it a functional city/town considering it's small and the collision detection is barely existant (as in you clip through things outside of the story areas). It's not complete and it seems as they won't develope it at all.

I think a lot of people have to start realising that all of the 'best' ideas are being kept for 6.

 

I welcome regular dlc's for 5, but I'm not going to get moist about any earth shattering content.
