KurtBong
So I've been playing for a little while on a 6870 ATI card and before that on a Sapphire 5830 and I even tried an ASUS GTX 550 Ti a couple were freebies, the Nvidia was the worst performer but it also had the lowest specs across the board, all three were 1GB. I was getting decent framerates before but occasional texture drops and the odd BSOD made me decide to upgrade and I fly a lot of Flight Sims and high detail scenery and smooth rendering are key in those cases. So I went shopping on Newegg and ordered a Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon R7 370 4 Gb because it was only a little more and sometimes less than the other 2 Gb cards I mean can't hurt right? My question now is my 1 Gb cards were using about 985mb of video memory out of 1024 and presumably a card with 4096 I think you can push a similar percentage ratio maybe? What do most of you guys with similar cards run? do you still back off for smooth game play or do any of you run all the bells and whistles? Crystal3lf
What do most of you guys with similar cards run? do you still back off for smooth game play or do any of you run all the bells and whistles? I have a 970 with all max settings, with a few of the advance scaling options, @1080p and 90% of the time I get 60-80FPS depending on day/night/location. Valentines update has brought this down to 40FPS, but I'm sure it'll be fixed next update. The settings say it's using 3-3.5gb of RAM, but it's not entirely to be trusted as it's just an estimate. If I had to I would certainly turn down options to get smoother gameplay, I just can't stand sub-30FPS, it almost makes me feel sick tbh. That silky-buttery smooth gameplay is just something I can't give up.

I know what you mean about it making you sick there are times when the textures jump across the screen and seem blurry or it's choppy can't wait to open it up a bit and see more of the visuals. stobe187
I'm running a GTX 970 and I basically have two different "modes" that I switch to and from: A. Photography mode 4K DSR, maxed out (no AA and grass at high), advanced settings on (except high res shadows and frame scaling) and Vsync at half. 30fps is fine for my photographic endeavors, and I get incredible quality out of my shooting trips. Memory usage close to 3.9gb. B. Regular gameplay mode 1080p, most settings maxed out, AA x2 and some of the advanced settings pared back a bit. Grab a taxi to the densest forest areas, calibrate the settings there. Buttery smooth 60fps, pure enjoyment. Memory usage usually hovers around the 3gb mark. ps. I think it's quite safe to assume that when someone says "all max settings" it 99% of the time means that grass isn't on ultra
cp1dell
970 club here. Sadly my monitor only goes to 1600x900, but I have MSAA x2 with MFAA enabled, everything is pretty much maxed out except Grass is at Very High, Reflection MSAA is off. High Detail Streaming while flying is enabled, Long Shadows is enabled, High Resolution Shadows is disabled since I use NVidia PCSS for the Softness, Expanded Detail and Shadows Distance are both at 20%. Nice smooth 60FPS. Somewhere around 2.5GB usage I think.
