Yacht glitch (PS4)

I loaded GTAO. My spawn point is set to my yacht. The game loaded as normal and I saw my character appear in the yacht's master bedroom.

 

A second later the screen flickered and I was outside on deck. Two players were there, dressed in combat gear. One of them shot me and I respawned on the yacht.

 

I was able to kill both players, but both then respawned on the yacht. I was surprised by this and one of them got another kill against me. I then turned on yacht defences and they were no longer able to access their weapons.

 

I don't know if this occurred by chance or whether there's a new griefing glitch. Those guys seemed well prepared. How could they have been there in the spot my yacht occupied (west of LSIA)? How did I get thrown out of my bedroom?

 

Anyway, just a heads up. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Its a random bug. Apparently your yacht can overwrite a player who just left yacht before you fully load up. Best bet is those players were on the yacht which switched to yours.

If a player who has left a session has players on their yacht, it'll stay in the session until those players get off. However, if another player joins the game with a yacht, it may replace the players yacht that had left the game with the new joining player. This causes anyone on board the yacht that used to be there to spawn on your yacht instead. You may have been ejected from your yacht due to the game not understanding that your yacht was now there instead of the old one.

Maybe somebody left the session at the time that you joined and their yacht was in the same place as yours spawned. The two players may have been on the other guys yacht. Yacht don't despawn whilst players are on them even if the owner leaves the session.

Yeah...so what... if he had checked that defenses were on before logging out then he would have spawned online then outside the yacht unable to be harmed.

 

You clearly don't own one or else youd know that you can tell if defenses are set as you are entering online.

I never cared for defenses, unless I was AFK. I'm battle ready when I join a lobby, I'm not chickening out.

I've spawned on someone else's yacht a couple of times, it kicked me from inside as soon as I loaded. I never checked if the yacht services worked but it seems like the same thing happened to you.

you clearly don't pay enough attention to notice that yacht defenses get turned off automatically when you completely leave the game, so if he had just logged on to GTA Online for the first time since fully closing the game out then it would have automatically been set to off when he logged on.

I've seen this from a different perspective. I was on another players yacth, and suddenly it changed livery, name and flag. Turned out the guy who owned the yacht left the session and it was replaced with a joining players yacth immediately.

My Yacht defences always reset to 'Off' despite what I do when leaving GTA Online.

I don't know what to tell you then. I'm on Xbox one and my console is not set to instant on. When I turn off my console the cache is cleared. I logged in to both of my characters and my defenses and friend settings are still the same as I set them.

 

I powered off my console and tested it once again and my settings are the same.

 

 

Ps4 owners may want to open a ticket because it may be specific to them. All I can tell you is my settings have saved on xb1.
