I have a bunch of things i would want to see for both single player and online: (SP/MP)

- (SP/MP) Warm and cold mechanic as well as body looting from RDR

- (SP/MP) Being unable to carry alll our arsenal on ourselves, instead we can use a loadout of a limited amount of weapons and the rest would be stored away in our currently active personal vehicle. We can switch weapons only by using the trunk storage etc. Some vehicles would be unable to carry anything du to lack of innate storage space (supercar, hypercars, sports bikes etc)

- (SP/MP) Fuel system similar to days gone although the fuel conssuption would probably be a bit slower on average than even the fully upgraded tank in that game (which is roughly equal to 15/20mins of continuous driving maybe more its been a while) Can be upgraded through customization.

- (MP) No ownership of military vehicles/weaponized of any kind unless they are decomissioned (weapons removed) They can still be stolen probably in some military base somewhere.

-(SP/MP) Removal of button mashing for basic movement controls such as sprinting. I hate having to mash X to sprint i GTA and i hate to do it in RDR to have my horse run faster. Just do like every other game withthe speed being measured by how tilted the stick is or a simple button toggle at the very least. Mashing serves no purpose other ruining the lifespan of some of the buttons.

-(SP/MP) A much larger and accurate variety of vehicle engine sounds.

I was talking to a friend about the whole storage thing.

Would be cool if there’s a underground version of normal custom shop, where we can fit hidden weapon/ammo storage compartment, police equipment, and weapons to normal or certain cars. Maybe certain modifications costs favors, so you have to do certain things to gain favors before you can install or unlock them.

A lot of people ask for fuel system, and to be honest I don’t know what is the point. The only game I can think of that’s open world-ish and have vehicle fuel system is Mafia II, but Mafia II also keep track of your plate and vehicle damage, and has much smaller map. Fuel system in GTA 6 would be useless in most cases, and annoying when you gets a car without much fuel. It also limits the mission sizes. Same thing with cold and warm. You are basically asking for RDR modern.

Button mesh yeah, RDR’s way of increasing and decreasing horse speed is a nice touch. But I wouldn’t say no mesh all the way. It would be nice if we can hold on to a button to accelerate a vehicle lightly to prevent slipping.

Engine sound, really depends on how much time R* is willing to spend on these cars. I’m happy with unique interiors. A fun idea would be custom exhaust like NFS Heat. So you have a basic note, modern, old, high/low end, 4/5/6/8/10/12 cylinders, supercharged, turbocharged… then players and developers can tune it. That’s something I can see them doing.

It is also for immersion sake. i named days gone as the example as to why i want it. A mechanic like that combined with the weapons stored in your active PV mean you need to take care of it, it becomes more than just a means of transportation.
Is your car destroyed, impounded or ran out of fuel and is stranded somewhere away from you? Well that means you will lose the ability to switch weapons loadouts until its fixed (remember i want to only be able to switch weapons when right next to it.) It makes you value your vehicles. In the middle of a fight or on your way to one.
Missions don't necessarily have to be shorter some story missions can artifically have lenghtened fuel duration just like days gone.

Again if you use the horse from RDR as an example you can store different outfits to use according to the temperature. Putting that in GTA would add to the prior argument by adding utility to the vehicles.  Lose your car? Lose the ability to access any of the feature /storage and suffer stats maluses from weather as a result.
As to wanting a Modern RDR, there is no rule against implementing some mechanics from their own previous games into another one. Some are interesting enough and could be expanded in GTA6. If it was up to me i would even add even more features, world elements seen in RDR.

This is just my wishlist anyway. I just want vehicles to matter beyond being just a mean to reach a destination. Random unowned cars can fill that role just fine, but your personal vehicles should be more than that. And that means adding benefits as well as inconveniences so you learn to use them as an integral extension of your character.

I disagree personally i just want them to do away with button mashes completely or if you really want to keep them, the option to toggle instead of mashing . Additionally on console i want an option to fully remap every single buttons as i please so i can at least lessen the issue.

Which is the core issue. Coming from GTAO im just tired to have all cars that have came out for the last 5 years to pretty much only have one of the 3-4 engine sounds available. Some of them are so out of place they completely ruin the cars. Take the swinger and GB200  as some of the examples. If you know how their IRL counterpart sound you know it feels absolutely terrible to drive them in game because they couldn't have picked a worse sound for them.
Im not asking for a Gran Turismo/Forza levels of accuracy but at least a larger variety in car engines, and to take into account while creating a car to use one that actually sounds close to the real car it would be based on.

I don’t know how to quote parts of a reply but I’m only referring to the first part, since it’s late.

GTA is not a car game, although cars do play a very important role in game. Yes RDR does all that and it’s immersive, but in RDR your guns and horses are all you have in this world. You are not gonna go around fueling cars when you have penthouse overlooking Vice City. Besides, even in RDO your horse don’t strand you unless it dies.

If a car is more than a mean of transportation, it shouldn’t be so unreliable and fragil. Otherwise anyone with some skills will just pack a milla and nick the first car he sees and be on his way.

This whole thing reminds me of Mafia 2 Friends for Life. I had few beautiful cars I babied. A silver 300SL, a dark purple Roadmaster, and a gold 507. The Roadmaster I only take to diners and pubs, the other two almost never leaves the driveway. I wouldn’t even look at another car twice. R* wouldn’t be too happy if players are that attached to 3 cars. What are they gonna buy shark cards for? Oil change?

Also if you go on GTA Online, people are pulling drive-by in Lamborghini Sian. How many GTA players really like cars instead of the practical aspect and glory of owning one?

Limitations should apply however. Maybe if you decided to drive a Pagani or Bugatti, you can only have an AR and a vest in the frunk and you are gonna have a real hard time in the Everglades, while a G-wagon or Slade can carry a whole arsenal deep into the swamps. Fuel systems, if they are making it, should be ultra realistic, so a drive around the map in your own well maintained luxury car costs 5% of your always full tank, while a random car you nicked might run out of petrol or just break down, especially if it’s a crappy car. (GTA 5 has fuel system, if you pop the tank of a car, it runs out of petrol after a bit)

So running out of petrol in your own car should be something people do for YouTube content, not in the middle of a heist with half of VCPD on your arse. If they make one like that, I’d love it. In real life only really dumb criminals run out of fuel in their own car.

As for car carrying clothes, I say only for cosmetic purposes. Copying RDR stats system into GTA is someone who have never played GTA would do. That’s simply two very different games.

*It seems your opinion is skewed to making car something you have to baby all the way, and players get punished for failing to do so. If that is exactly your point don’t bother replying. Thats simply not what GTA should be. I’m not going to discuss someone’s twisted idea of forcing players to take care of cars like it’s a pet.

One thing they need to include is being able to chose what time we wake up when going to sleep. I'm an immersive player so I like doing certain things at certain times during the day/night. RDR2 slightly improved in this area by giving us the options of sleeping until the morning, noon or night - but in VI we should be able to specifically chose what hour of the day we sleep until - absolutely no reason for this to not be an option.

This is such a priority for me that if we aren't given this option I personally may not buy the game.

I assume you mean SP. yeah that’s a very easy to implement system. I think watch dog 2 has this (I didn’t play WD1).

Yes, SP - I have no interest in Online what so ever. I also believe Cyberpunk had this as well.

GrandTheftPots

More realistic in GTA Online no more flying bikes and cars bring it back down to earth Rockstar should make @Broughy1322 the official GTA Stig

Rockstar should add seasonal events every week with a lap time leader board just like in Gran Turismo and a used car dealer to make some vehicles really rare

I’d like for VI to have a very in depth story with a lot of side activities, I’d like all DLC to be available to single player and the online portion of the game. I’d like single player specific DLC’s…. Maybe this is what could be accomplished with map expansions, a Liberty City location for a DLC that you warp/fast travel to.

I’d like for them to focus less on milking the online portion of the game (and this is coming from an online player) and to focus more on additional cities and even the next next GTA game.

Rockstar should make a parody of the dark web. Gta is about being a criminal, all kinds of sh*t like drugs, guns, etc are sold on the dark web and there's snuff videos (Obviously not real ones but fake in universe ones for the game) and I think we should be able to explore a parody of it in VI

Basically just copy how the jeep winch in Uncharted 4 works, it's perfect

I really wish they go all in with the online character creator and customisation this time and do the best.

All types of small details like piercings, jewelry, big variety of different fashion genres, different body types, height, ...really good looking character models for online that look as good as the single player characters.

It would be best if they did like 40 really good looking faces for each gender that you choose from that then can be customised the way you like, and not the ugly randomized red dead online faces that are almost impossible to turn good looking.

option to choose invidual face parts from the other face models so your not stuck with that specific nose for example

and yeah options to wear the clothing in different ways. Like option to wear hat in different ways backwards, sideways, deep in head etc etc pant over boots/in, open jacket/close etc options like this

kind of wish the characters had voices. So there would be many voices to choose from. Im sure Rockstar games has enough money to pay to many voice actors

edit: would be cool if technology was at point (or maybe it is??) that  you use your own voice but theres voice changer that changes your voice to the character voice you choose.

The acted mission scenes would be talked by voice actor but others than that you do the speaking.

More a wish for VII at this point, however would be cool if this releases alongside VI for online, but North San Andreas with San Fierro, Oakland, Fremont, Sacramento, etc. and maybe East San Andreas / Robada with Sierra Nevada / Tierra Robada (Oakhurst and such), etc. all drivable and connected via roads to South San Andreas from GTA V.

I really hope that in Gta 6 we will able to entry most of the interiors.

Be able once we finish the story to get a job and work as for example taxi driver, cop etc .. .

take the plane to an city so we will avoid to take the car.

Have storms that destroy building and need to be rebuilt .

Be able to contact someone from the police or government.

Have the possibility to corrupt the cops

Take military vehicules or weapons like an mortar or bomber plane and  destroy buildings

Better Physics, A.I ,Interiors.

Improve just this +combat.

Everything else asked on this sub since 2013 is nonsense.

Rockstar is reportedly spending $1 Billion+ on this game, polishing just these 4 things could make it the best GTA game by a mile.

I would want there to be 'hidden' places not found on the map. Perhaps a gun shop out the back of a barber shop where you can get special customisations.

Maybe they could only be open for a percentage of the day too. The playerbase will soon learn of these places via places like this but I think it would still add a layer to the game.

I see here GTA IV approach and you're absolutely right, back to basics. No matter how many features you'll put in your game, if basics suck entire game will suck.

GTA sanandreas was in almost every way a better game than GTA 4. Better map, missions, vehicles, weapons, more interiors, more replay value, better music.

But one thing GTA 4 had was good physics and that changed everything.

GTA got popular for just one reason : you could shoot anything, drive anything and go anywhere and the physics overhaul made these core mechanics better thus resulting in a better game.

I'd love to see a boathouse property/custom shop to customize water craft, since boating is a much bigger lifestyle on the east coast/Florida than it is out in Cali.

I'd also love to see a mechanic for certain larger boats/RVs where you can use the interior to rest, change clothes or regain health, like a portable mini safehouse.

Here are a few things off the top of my head:

A large map with more than one city and several towns, like San Andreas's

A detailed and alive-feeling city (or cities) like IV's

More fast travel options which will probably be necessary due to the map size, such as commercial jets, trains, subway/metro systems, buses, taxis etc

More odd jobs such as taxi driver, vigilante, paramedic, firefighter etc

A six star wanted level with the army and FBI

More realistic physics and car driving like GTA IV (maybe not as annoying as IV's driving but more realistic than V's arcadey style)

A more serious story like GTA IV and RDR II, but not as depressing. Definitely not the cheesy Michael Bay-esque stories of GTA V or the PS2 GTAs, but a happy ending would be nice

The ability to get fat or skinny and go to the gym like in San Andreas

More interiors (an accessible police station, hospital, airport, train station and mall are just a few accessible interiors I'd like to see)

A great soundtrack (Vice City's was the best IMO. I know it's set in the present day but I want plenty of 80s tracks)

There's plenty of other things but I can't think right now.

No more bad sport Lobby!

Put bad sport players in prison, in an open public lobby. Corrections, Detention Center.

(and they can't leave) until their time limit / sentence expires. (unless they have friends break them out or you find corrupt guards and/or officers to take a healthy cash bribe to help you escape).

Once escaped, You must stay on the run until your sentence expires. Any altercation with law enforcement will result in you being returned to prison with more time added to your sentence clock.

Are you ready to gamble with Freedom,

Your Freedom?

I hope they bring back a lot of features from GTA SanAndreas.

- Being able to eat at restaurants.

- Body Mass and Muscle tone variable.

- relationships with area gangs.

- Large map with multiple Metro areas and country side small towns.

I like story mode as well, hear me out.

I know everyone loves GTA ONLINE so, I'd like to see a story mode that intertwines with online so you have to complete some story mode aspects to get further in online.

ie. Unlock upgrades, actors, properties and opportunities.

Make it like one of those... "choose your own path" ...books they used to have.

If I delete my saves, and start over from the beginning. It'll be a completely different story. Everyones experience is based on their choices and won't be the same for all players.

R* may have to spend another Billion...but it'd be bad ass if done correctly.  😏

If they are going to use button-mashing for sprint, it needs to be toggleable between rapid press or press and hold. Not just for convenience, but for accessibility. If you have motor function issues in your hands, mashing a button could be very difficult, if not impossible. Making this easier for those people is a must IMO.

I too would also like to choose what time to wake up when going to bed. Lots of other games do this. I should be able to choose how long I want to rest (though I would say you have to rest a minimum amount of time, say 2 hours at least, but then able to rest up to 24) This should not be hard to do.

I get why people want refueling to be a thing in this game, they want immersion. Frankly, it still strikes me as a thing people THINK they want, but actually don't. Because before long it becomes something tedious that ends up getting in the way. Imagine you're mid-mission, you jack a car to get away and oh no the tank's empty. Now you have to find another car (because sure as sh*t you don't have time to stop at a gas station while being chased by the cops) and you fail the mission because of something beyond your control. That's not immersion. That's frustrating. You should never fail a mission due to something that isn't your fault. It would be one thing if you jacked a car that was already smoking and low on health, and then blows up 10 seconds later. That's on you for making poor choices. But picking up a car that doesn't have enough fuel to make it to your destination when you had no way of knowing how much gas was in the tank? That's bullsh*t. That's the kind of crap that makes people stop playing the game entirely, when they learn that simple bad luck can ruin their day.

So on to things I'd like to see. I know it's been mentioned before (it has to have been, there's 96 pages in this goddamn thread) but I want to be able to replay missions I've completed, and replay cutscenes as well, either for S&Gs or for in-game bonuses.

I also would like to see a variable difficulty setting in Story Mode. Something like what the recent Saints Row did would be ideal I think (allowing you to either pick a boilerplate setting or adjust individual aspects based on personal tastes and abilities). Like you're OK with enemies being bullet sponges, but you're not the best driver so you want cars to have more health. Or you want longer timers on timed missions. Or you want a challenge in most aspects, but your eyesight maybe isn't so good so you want a a more positive aim assist. You should be able to do all that.

I'd even go so far as to include special modes. One called Sandbox mode, where you can toggle infinite health/ammo, police spawn on/off, with missions disabled, and just be able to go bonkers with no worries. On the flip side, a Hardcore mode where you can't heal while on a mission, ammo is harder to come by, and if you die, you have to start over from the beginning (but you must complete Story Mode once in order to unlock both of these)
