GAUNTLET HELLFIRE

Over the last couple of months I have been having a lot of problems joining jobs.

This is the most common message most of the time it just LTS but sometimes it's heist and yesterday it was missions my friend was hosting and when I hosted and invited him he got this message as well

Screenshot-Original.png?sv=2014-02-14&sr

I also get this message sometimes

Screenshot-Original.png?sv=2014-02-14&sr

this message is a bit rarer

Screenshot-Original.png?sv=2014-02-14&sr

and when I finally do manage to join most of the time this happens

Screenshot-Original.png?sv=2014-02-14&sr

and when I try to join a quick job through my phone. I haven't filtered anything

This is probably a stupid question but how do I do that?

Unplug your router/modem and clear your cache regularly.

If you are on PS4, when you start the game from your dashboard just hold in L1+R1 until your screen brightness setting comes up. You'll know it's done correctly.

Just incase you didn't know how to do it..

i would suggest a little google trip about "Port Forwarding" and consider a wired line for consoles (instead of wireless).

Please OP - DO NOT DO THIS.

This is fine if you've never changed any of the default settings in the game, as it will reset them all back to default (camera height, aim mode, all sensitivity settings etc.). You could find yourself with a lot to do, depending on how you've previously had the game set up.

Rebooting your router (power off for a few seconds - power back on) is more than enough.

the last screen is a different thing though.

it's a new way for matchmaking.

when you start a job via the map (blue coronas) the game checks first for existing lobbies and then if there are no existing lobbies it asks you if you want to host it or if you want to look for another job with existing lobby.

If wired isn't an option, set up a repeater. It's almost as fast as if you've done a wired connection.

It's not that bad to do, maybe it's easy for me because I regularly do it and know exactly how I like my settings.. I can see what you mean though, especially if he hasn't done it before or often enough to memorize the settings.. The ones I hate the most is the phone/notifications settings, I forget to switch those half the time.

Do this if you haven't already. Might help if you let us know what kind of internet speed and connection you have.

You can find a guide and additional GTA online ports to forward on Rockstar's website:

I'm on Xbox One. I unplugged my modem and cleared my cache and just finished a game of RPG vs Insurgents. Thanks again I've missed playing LTS.

I changed to wireless for about day before an update and it was taking longer to download so I plugged my cable back in and haven't taken it out since.

I think I have changed just about every setting I can.

hgf_zpsx41sc91d.jpg

Sorry not too sure what you mean by what connection I have I just know that my Xbox is connected to my modem through an ethernet cable. I checked my Xbox and it says the NAT is open. Is port forwarding just for routers because the article mentions opening ports to obtain an open NAT and I already have it open.

^ok, and via phone.

if you start a job via start menu this message doesn't appear though.

Thanks didn't know that.

Thanks didn't know that. You have REALLY bad internet. That's why. You only get 1.5mbps where my connection gets between 90 and 100mbps.

The only way you will fix these issues is with a better internet connection.

I get the reset screen quite often when I start the game, which I think is just from my controller having very sensitive L2 & R2 buttons, so when it's sat flat it's actually pressing them a tiny bit.

The first time it happened to me I though, "Yeah, whatever" and then spent the next day fine-tuning all the settings that I'd completely forgotten about. After that if it ever comes up with that screen I just close the game and restart it, with the controller in my hand. I'm not doing that again!

The problem with wireless connections isn't speed, it's interference.

There are hundreds of devices that can interfere with a wireless connection long enough to lag you out of most games

Wow mine is bad then. I am with Dodo who are probably the worst internet provider in Australia my sister had a 2 year contract with them and had so many problems they let her out of the contract after being with them for just a few months. I'm moving soon and when I do I'm leaving Dodo so hopefully it's better then. After unplugging my modem and clearing my cache I managed to join RPG vs Insurgents, avalanche run and a race with no problems.

That would suck. I get annoyed enough when I'm in a free aim session and join an auto aim job and end up in an auto aim session afterwards.

Wired isn't a plausible option for me. The router is 3 rooms away, or 5-7m shortest distance to the PS4. That would go through doorways, which means the doors can't be closed.

This is UK based reviews, but should still point you in the right direction. If you can't run a cable to your console, this is what you need...

That's pretty interesting. I'll look into that. How do these work? I need to also buy extra ethernet cables to connect from the adapter to the '4?

Yes, you do need cables but you'll only need short ones to reach from the router to the plug socket, and then one from the other plug socket to your console, rather than having cables running around your house or having to drill holes in walls.

It literally does use the power lines as network cables, meaning you can move a wired connection anywhere in your home where you have a plug socket.

That's pretty neat. I'll check my local tech store for those and some ethernet cables.

EDIT: Does it work like a repeater? Because the room the PS4 is in also has a lot of devices that use the Net.

No, it is essentially exactly the same as using an ethernet cable from the router to whatever you plug it into. Nothing on wifi will affect it at all.

Oh, so I can use it in tandem with the repeater? That's great!

I'm using the Apple Airport combo because I use the Timed Access Control for my little siblings. They're not old enough to develop an unhealthy attachment to the Internet.

The game's notorious for this kind of thing.
