Why NOT METAL in RADIOS?

If you can't hear the difference between the different genres, you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

So please stop trying, that kind of music is probably older than you anyway so just stop.

@ Imponte

Yeah, I'm sure there are some good BM out there.

It's just that I never heard it, and I don't like the whole BM image, so that particular metal genre is not interesting to me, that's all. :)

jollythecat, Bergtatt by Ulver, Dimmu Borigir with For All Tid and Stormblast, Cradle's Principle of Evil made Flesh, Pest with Hail the Black Metal Wolves of Belial, Summoning. Depending on your taste in metal, this black metal is easier to like than a lot of the real kvlt black metal stuff.

Seeming you like grindcore, check out The Four Instructive Tails of Decomposition demo by Demilich if you haven't before. Also check out Vomiturition and their Flesheater Musicians on Their Last Supper EP and Head Tales EP, it's not grind but very dirty death metal :pirate:

Actually I know all those supposedly BM bands you listed there, Dimmu Borgir and the likes.

I do appretiate their music for what it is, they are amazing musicians just like most people that are involved in metal music.

They do sound more like power/Viking metal than actual BM to me though.

The "real" BM are like I said before Burzum, Immortal and other crazy Norwegian bands and I don't like that stuff, sounds really crappy imo.

The more modern bands like Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of filth and so on are just riding the BM popularity wave.

Six feet under that you posted are a great band, nothing beats that old school death metal sound.

If you are into good death metal you should check out Prostitute Disfigurement from Holland, that is some seriously good brutal DM, especially their "Left in grisly fashion" album from 2005. :)

Ok, but you don't know that whole image dude... stop making sentences like that if you don't know all out there :D

There's many Bm with no aesthetics at all, just music. Cause bm is no necesary satanism/paganism... the real breed is just darkness.

Considering that Los Santos and San Andreas in general is based on California, I'm a bit shocked to not see at least Megadeth not added to the game (I would say Metallica too, but only if the songs are from Master of Puppets and prior), let alone "Aces High" by Iron Maiden with how many planes we have in this game. Channel X really failed at bringing California's Punk Rock scene into the game with the rather lackluster tracklist, so adding a metal station would be awesome in SP DLC... if it ever happens.

"War Pigs" by Black Sabbath would be amazing. <3

Gotta chime in here, really surprised to read some people thinking there arent bands still playing nowdays.. Majority of my favorite bands from the 90's metal/rock era are still putting out great music.. Alice in Chains, Deftones, Meshuggah, Machine Head, Muse, Living Sacrifice, etc. Even Trent Reznor from NIN is doing stuff still. Hell, I'm going to see Carcass and Meshuggah at a festival this summer with Gojira playing the next night. Might even stay to check out Korn whos playing later that night for a highschool flashback. \m/ \m/

Anyone interested in some newer bands checkout Sylosis, 80's influenced thrash metal that still play in standard E!!

And After the Burial, heavy Meshuggah influence and lots of groove, rocking 8 string guitars probably. One of the their guitarists passed last year so this album is part tribute to him, some of his riffs are part of their new album.

if they added a metal station it would be ruined by the lame music people call metal this days.

i'd be down for a classics rock station with music from metallica, iron maiden, deep purple, led zeppelin, black sabbath, ozzy...

Yeah lol players listening to Jazz cruising down the street in their 64s.

But seriously most of the genres not in game are unpopular so adding them wouldn't matter.

This is the logic that is destroying everything in society.

A gem of a post.

I'm actually more surprised they didn't include Trap, especially because it's inspired in hip-hop and the LA scene.

I'd just like to listen to a rock station that I'd actually listen to. Don't get me wrong, LSRR has some good songs, but a good bit of them are not stuff I'd listen to on a daily basis.

Sure, a lot of people here, who are probably more educated in Metal than me would probably sh*t on my radio. But I'm just open to anything more MODERN. I listen to a lot of Pop-Punk, some Metal-core/Post-Hardcore whatever the f*ck. Rock has so many sub genre's it's unreal. I'd like some of this, some bands that I actually know in a station.

It's unfair that we have like a hip-hop station, a pop station, a rap station, some weird spanish station(I don't speak spanish), Whatever the Lowdown is ect. But we have 1 hardcore station, 1 punk station, 1 rock station but the rock station is old music. There is no modern rock that is not hardcore or punk. I liked VBR for what it was but after a while I stopped listening to it. I will commend R* because Radio Mirror Park made me very interested in that genre of music. Also, they have a Chvrches song on Worldwide, and I discovered and have become quite the fan of them.

But they're not a proper rock station. I feel like, in a game like this where you used licensed songs and what not, you should have a radio that caters to almost all popular genres. And don't even f*cking try and convince me that nobody listens to "metal" or "rock" or whatever anymore cause that's quite frankly ignorant statement.

Alright

We’re scanning the scene in the city tonight
We’re looking for you to start up a fight
There’s an evil feeling in our brains
But it’s nothing new, you know it drives us insane

Running
On our way
Hiding
You will pay
Dying
One thousand deaths
Running
On our way
Hiding
You will pay
Dying
One thousand deaths

Searching
Seek and destroy
Searching
Seek and destroy
Searching
Seek and destroy
Searching
Seek and destroy

There is no escape and that’s for sure
This is the end, we won't take any more
Say goodbye to the world you live in
You’ve always been taking but now you’re giving

Running
On our way
Hiding
You will pay
Dying
One thousand deaths
Running
On our way
Hiding
You will pay
Dying
One thousand deaths

Searching
Seek and destroy
Searching
Seek and destroy
Searching
Seek and destroy
Searching
Seek and destroy

Our brains are on fire with the feeling to kill
And it won't go away until our dreams are fulfilled
There is only one thing on our minds
Don’t try running away ‘cause you’re the one we will find

Yeah, Saints Row had it covered, some of those tracks are pretty sweet.

What we need in gta radio is:

Embalming Theatre - My home is my necropolis

Whore - Black Claw

Frightmare - Slayride (possibly the best metal song ever recorded)

Lord Gore - Trash hole

Putrid Pile - Severed head momento

Torsof*ck - Raped by elephants

Haemorrhage - Flesh devouring pandemia

Jig-Ai - Samurai gay party

Gruesome Stuff Relish - The dead will walk the earth

Cock and ball torture - Sadoshismo

Last days of humanity - Putrefaction in progress

And lot's more songs that I can't remember right now.

This list would make a nice base for a Metal channel though, lol.

I just wish they would add some harder classic rock to LS Rock Radio. Seriously what rock station plays Circles in the Sand and If You Leave Me Now! Where's the Guns n' Roses, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin! I would play the game so much more if this was implemented.

I agree with Spike.

A radio channel that only play AC/DC would be perfectly ok with me.

I can listen to AC/DC all day long, seriously I would be happy with a channel that only play AC/DC.

I adore that band, and love pretty much all theirs songs, especially the older stuff.

Bring on an AC/DC channel, come on R*.

I bet the people at R* also love AC/DC, I mean come on who doesen't love them.

It's fricken AC/DC.. lol

LSRR could do with more hard rock and metal such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, The Doors, Genesis, KISS, Alice Cooper, Megadeth etc. But I still think LSRR is the second best radio station on this game despite a few sh*tty songs, it's just not as good as Liberty Rock Radio yet (If they add more songs it could surpass it)

I feel that if they were to add a metal station, they would divide it up. Like they could have all the Core sub genres in one and the rest in another.

Why exactly do we "need" it though? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'd be opposed to it, but it's completely unrealistic. Rockstar typically tries to choose music that either fits the theme/story/mood of the game (which I don't think they did a great job of this time), tries to add music that has a scene or heavy influences/origins in the real-world counterpart the location, or tries to choose something that fits with the time of the game.

Your random list of grind-oriented stuff really doesn't fit with any of those and would be completely random to add to the game. The only possible way that stuff "fits" into the game (objectively) is that it could be considered aggressive and chaotic, to match Trevor and the general chaos and violence going on, but there are other types of music/bands that fit that theme that are also more relevant to the location, and more likely to be considered "acceptable" by the general playerbase.

The closest anything on your list gets to being relevant is the fact that 3 of the bands are from here in Oregon, which is kinda close to California so they probably played a few small gigs there.

I don't love them. They have their moments, but most of their songs have extremely predictable structures and involve just repeating the chorus 20x and adding in some "yeah-yeah" and "oooooh yeah" (and sometimes they really mix things up with an "oooooh yeah yeah") and it gets very tiring. While I think they have some great riffs and I love the bluesy influence (my favorite track is "Have a Drink On Me" for that riff), they are leaning on the pop method of focusing on the catchy chorus and hammering it into your brain. Also there is the fact that you will hear them EVERYWHERE and most of their popular songs have been played to death. Guns 'n' Roses "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Paradise City" are the same way, how many million YouTube videos, how many commercials and movies and video games have used those same damn songs over and over and over again?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not terribly happy with what they call "rock" in this game and would like a station for classic hard rock in the game as well, but I'd just prefer to mix things up a little instead of hear the same predictable songs we have all heard a million times before.

That list of grind/death I posted was meant as a joke.

I know that all of that stuff don't have a snowballs chance in hell to ever be added, and that was the joke.

Obviously a bad joke though as you didn't get it. ;)

Although I can make my own metal station on PC, I mainly want that host banter between songs. IV had a pretty funny host for their heavy metal station.

I did find it interesting to see 3 bands from here in Oregon on the list though. I had forgotten Lord Gore was from Portland.

We had another band called Whore here from my hometown years ago that played brutal death metal that was good, but they changed their name (probably after learning that another Whore existed in the same state) and some members.

Another grind band that was fairly popular in the Oregon "underground" alongside those you mentioned was Truculence, not sure if you have heard of them. They were the only local grind band I had seen live before though, as the others have been inactive for a while as far as I can tell.

Yeah it's the bands that Maniac Neil do.

It's Frightmare, Bloodfreak, Lord Gore and Whore.

Maniac Neil is considerd a holy grale type of person in the brutal grind scene.

He makes the best music in the death/gore genre and like I said he is above awesome, all his music is better than the general grind/ death.

He rule supreme.

Yeah, why not?

In fact, what the f**k is this? I mean, where the hell is it? Where did it go?

It's asking for a genre of music to be catered to; people aren't asking for miracles here.

I hate to break it to you mate, but metal music very rarely sing about helicopters.

Probably the closest you'll get is Tailgunner from Iron Maiden.
