Why NOT METAL in RADIOS?

I have never understood how anyone can truly enjoy listening to metal, good music is supposed to make you happy when listening to it, I couldn't imagine anyone being happy by listening to that racket.

Metal makes me happy. The last time I visited a progressive metal concert I had such a fantastic time, the music hit me so hard I was overwhelmed with the sheer beauty of it.

 

There are other emotions out there you know, and music is a catalyst for those emotions as well as a funnel. It can awaken emotions in you as well as help you deal with them. If the only emotion you ever feel is happiness then you are either the luckiest person in the world or borderline retarded. Judging from your post I'm going with the latter.

Overly happy music...though i must say i enjoy some cheesy songs like "mbopp"(or whatever it is) from the hansons ,.. and honestly..."baby" from justin bieber...to much of that kind of sh*t makes me vomit

 

Also am i the only one here that does not give a f*ck a f*ck about being or not being mainstream or even genre ?

You're not the only one, man. My music taste isn't restrictive of genre. I've liked techno, polka, blues, rap, pop, so on and so forth.Genres are objective divisions of style and content, created by people other than yourself. Obviously they are irrelevant when it comes to describing your taste in music, which is wholly subjective. Very few people like all of genre A and none of genre B. I personally divide music into two categories: sh*t I like and sh*t I don't like. Whatever genre that sh*t falls in doesn't concern me at all. Edited February 24, 2016 by henryborked

I feel you man. Sometimes I want the latest pop music, so I listen to spotify and rock on to Charlie Puth, Rihanna, Beyonce or Sia.

 

If I want oldschool, I got a playlist playing BSB, NKOTB, Devo, Daft Punk, and so on.

 

Spotify's just for everyone who wanta their own mix, you know?

 

EDIT: my point is, UNLIKE Rockstar's radio, Spotify covers all bases except Swifties.

i liked the punk station from gta 4 plus once the dlc was out it came with a metal station which was rather good.anyone who says metal sucks or something along the lines of that clearly hasnt listen to it and assume that they all just go grrr grrr grrr but they dont and even death metal is sometimes like that and i have listen it,and thought huh what the hell is this if its death metal.sadly most people rather listen to stuff that is played on the radio and not seek out music that wont always get played on the radio.

Some of you must be children and clearly don't know anything about music. Metal will always be here for those of us who know it's value. When an electronic artist is around and selling records after 30 years then you might have a point. The reason electronica or whatever keeps changing is cuse it is a fad, it must reinvent itself to make another mark on the industry.

 

And i can't even imagine how i look to some of you driving my bmw wagon listening to the likes of slayer, slipknot, lamb of god, MOTORHEAD, baroness, mastodon or one of a crap load of other amazing bands, at full volume.

Jk... Actually I'd love to have a metal/ rock radio station. There's LS Rock Radio but they're more about power pop and balads, besides The Cult, Boston, Deff Leppard or Robert Plant there's not much rock going on there. We have Channel X but punk isn't really my thing, I'd rather it to follow the style of the good ol' Radio X. I end up sticking to Self Radio and simply hear what I want atm.

You've got to be joking. Do some reading and research Classical is fine. Just because your crowd listens to whatever is cool in the peer group, in most cases Classical will be listened to, performed and studied long after the flavor of the moment passes.

 

I normally eat dinner with classical on. I find it enriching and adds to the relaxation of the meal. Lately I've been on more of a classical kick than anything else. I still like my 1930s acoustic blues though.

 

So by saying who listens to classical, shows how utterly clueless and culturally blind you are. Grow a few more pubes, then come back when you have finished puberty.

Damn, there is so much ignorance in this thread, it hurts.

 

I listen to pretry much any genre, but metal is my #1. All of it, from just plain metal, to metalcore, to djent, to deathcore, death metal, etc. I love it all, and it must suck to be somebody who doesn't.

 

Of course I would love a metal station, V-Rock and Radio X were amazing. But, like OP, I would also like a dubstep station as well, though I admit, it wouldn't fit the game much.

 

Anyway, I just use my phone and use Spotify connect and I listen to anything I want. Problem solved lol

I played football til I was like 28. Go tell all the offensive lineman metal sucks and see what happens. Im an underground hip hop head through and through, but I respect everyone's taste of music. Those guys owned the airwaves with metal, and it actually wasnt too bad. Even some hip hop has incorporated metal into their music!

 

Although I respect music choices, one thing I will always think is true. Radio music and pop music show no personality. I have to search for music I like and listen to and its always been that way...
