This GTA us the first GTA where I've been disappointed with the amount of songs I liked.

 

Considering we had L.C.H.C in Lost & The Damned, I really don't see why we don't have a metal radio station with a radio host stuck in the 90's.

To add on this note, why don't we have a House station? The atmosphere for V fits the House genre really well. It would've been a nice addition to the game.

Soulwax FM already covers House music (although along with New Beat, Techno, Dance Punk, and any other forms of Electronica) but like real life Radio Soulwax, they play with various genres of music.

 

Also, WorldWide FM suppose to be the Ambient and Chillout station, but it turned into an eclectic range of various musics after the next gen release.

 

All in all, I like V's radio stations, but several stations need to get their sh*t together (I'm looking at you, WorldWide FM!).

Sure guitar music has its rights, its flavor, but for my most of metal music i've heard was something between try-hard comedy and little bit silly gothic aura. I would like to hear metal music that suits our grim modern day.

This is a ridiculous conversation. Metal is bigger now than it ever has been. The only problem is you have to go looking for it. Now, I know that may sound like its dying, but its the fact that everything else is so easily accessible that makes it kind've hide in the shadows.

The music that smothers mainstream media is not music. Its a product, made by promoters, which is nice and pretty and easy to swallow, so consumers will spend their hard earned money on it. By doing this, sales go up and up, bringing the 'product' to the top of the music chart, which brings more attention to it, and more people buy it, and eventually the entire music scene is so covered in this product, that people go "oh, this must be what music is these days". The little guys, who don't make an 'easy to swallow product' get forced back into the shadows, because they can't compete with the 'product'.

 

That being said, the metal that is being made today is the best sounding, most creative, high quality metal that has ever been.

Yes, its completely laden with 'Sub-Genres', but honestly. What form of music isnt a 'Sub-Genre'? Everything we listen to today has either been derived from Blues, or Classical. Sorry to say that Metal is actually derived from Blues, but today its more like Classical than anything else.

 

I know you want someone to show you an example, but any example is up to opinion and taste. No matter what anyone shows you, it will be heard through biased ears.

 

 

Edit: If say a Metal station did appear on GTA, at this point in time, it would be a 'Core' related station. Djent, Hardcore, Deathcore, Aliencore etc. That seems to be the most 'mainstream' thing there is in the genre.

As much as I like it, I don't see Dubstep or Drum & Bass fitting into GTA V/Online. (I miss MSX 98 from LCS though). I do however see Jazz and House/Dance music fitting in. Non-Stop pop already plays Days Go By, Music Sounds Better With You and Lady which are all House tracks (all over a decade old), but they are still House tracks. As for Jazz, I'd love to hear Miles Davis, Jimmy Smith, Shakatak and Chet Baker.

This is currently one of my visions of what a proper old-school/new school Metal soundtrack mix should be like. A lot of Rock 'n Roll here.

 

Here you will find all sorts of Metal, all far more worthy of a GTA soundtrack than the mainstream stuff all of you posted.

 

/end rant I know it comes off as elitist, but people should be introduced to the obscure and underground, a GTA should have hardcore rampage worthy Metal.

I disagree. Good music is defined by the listener. Some define a good song by having a deep message, others prefer a funky/catchy beat. Songs do not have to make one happy to be good, they should 'connect' with the person that is listening to it.
