custom colors are literally the only reason I play this game, it makes collecting cars that much more satisfying, and your tool is the only way I've ever gotten them to work. never had any luck with the inspect element method, or any other bookmark tool out there. I hope it gets online soon and isn't too much harder to use. thanks for your service for all these years. you are literally one of the only things that made this game playable for me.

I second this; I've had so much fun being able to apply custom and OEM colors for my vehicles thanks to your method. I really hope a solution is out there, and thank you for posting your method!

Sorry guys, but the SSL certificate on my site has expired and I don't actually plan on renewing it, so the script can't be loaded on the Social Club any more.  I've kept it going purely for this for nearly 3 years, but it's time to say goodbye.

However, I can modify it so the bookmark includes the whole script, rather than injecting it from my site.  That will fix the issue with the script being "insecure".  So give me a little while and I'll get the 1st post updated with instructions on how to use that instead.

That too. I tried editing it to point to the .js file on localhost but if Firefox can't do bookmarklets at the moment that's not going to work either.

Oh hey, free SSL certs:  https://www.sslforfree.com

Thanks for that, but I don't trust free SSL certificates as you're basically giving a 3rd party total control over your site's traffic, which is bad for the users (not me).  Besides, it's not the cost - it's the maintenance.  Installing an SSL certificate sounds like a 5 minute job, but it just isn't.  "Convoluted" doesn't even come close to describing the process.

However, I'm looking into a solution that will negate the SSL problem forever - I'm looking at turning this into a Chrome extension.  This would mean people would have to use Chrome, Firefox or Opera as they all run Chrome extensions (there may be some other browsers that also run them, but these are obviously the main ones).

I'm working on it today and I'll let everyone know when it's done.

Okay, I've set up a temporary SSL certificate so everything is back to the way it was.  I have also created a Chrome extension and will be looking to make a permanent move to that at some point, but there are a couple of niggly issues I want to iron out first.

So for now, it's business as usual.  Thanks for the patience - now go customize some sh*t!

Where do I put the code and how do I do this? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Sorry - I missed this post.

Go through the steps in the instructions and tell me where you get lost.  I'll help you out if I can.

@Furry_Monkey, thank you for making the script so we can edit crew colors easily. If the script has been updated in the original post and is working for Chrome on Android, then I'm missing something. I edited the old bookmark with the script, but it made no difference. I get nothing when "running" the script from the edit crew page.

I really appreciate you bringing it back, I don't know if it's just me but when I enter the .jpg of an image it doesn't come up, just stays on Loading image... I've tried on chrome and on Firefox. Anyone else having this issue?

Yes, it happens to me every now and then but I don't know why so I just pick another picture.

I didn't change anything since Furry Monkey updated it and it's been working fine for me.

I've not actually changed anything with the existing version, so if it did work then it should still work.  It's possible that any ad-blockers or similar apps might not like the new SSL certificate, but that's not that likely.  Try clearing your browser cache and see if that helps.

Can you give me the URL of an image that fails?  I'll have a look and see if there's a reason.

Sure of course this is the URL, 2019-ford-f-150-raptor-2-640x640.jpg

this one didn't work, but this one did,

CR-Cars-InlineHero-2019-Acura-ILX-A-Spec

All I did with the first one is open up the image in a new tab. The difference I see is the ford raptor image has a .jpg at the end but the acura image doesn't.

Well it appears to be working as normal now, not sure what was going on yesterday. Well thanks a ton for bringing it back we all really appreciate it!

God I love you so much. I was low-key having anxiety. Not having this tool just nearly made me wanna quit this game

Okay, it looks like that was also an SSL issue, but on their site.  What I've done is make it try the Url you enter, and if it fails and is using https then it retries with http instead, so that Url now works.

Thanks for your help fixing it :)

Thanks again, this is even better, I haven't had a single image fail to load since you tweaked the script :)

How would I apply the HEX code 38490FFF into the hex box? The box only allows 6 characters.

Hex colours are only 6 characters long.  The FF at the end is either an alpha value, which you can't use, or (I guess) you're trying to trick the social club into saving your colour.  Just remove it and use the save button.

Edit: I just tried it and it saved on the 3rd attempt.

It's all good dude. I figured it out. It was just basic Google images. I just used my Photobucket account to host the link and it worked

Ah okay, thanks. That makes sense. Some 3rd parties won't allow hotlinking images, which is what my service does.

Glad you got it working.
