I want to get around the map quickly so I'm looking for a nice plane/jet that can do the job, is the Vestra a good choice?

Is it hard to land it outside of an airstrip?

Can it evade a homing launcher?

I don't want to buy it and end up with buyer's remorse, so help would be appreciated. Before ppl start saying "Get the Hydra" I don't have it unlocked and don't want to spend 3 mill anyways.

If it's just you, I would get the Besra instead. Faster, more agile, I've definitely avoided HL missiles in the Besra (haven't tried as much in the Vestra), and for me easier to do unconventional landings (but my practice with the Vestra isn't as much either). Main plus of the Vestra is its marginally cheaper and carries 2. Besra has the fighter jet icon if it makes a difference (could be a plus or a minus).

Oh so the vestra shows up as a plane? I thought it was a small jet, it's definitely better as I think ppl get quite alarmed when they see a jet on the map. The fact that it carries 2 is also very useful. Thanks.

If you are not looking at carrying anybody go with the besra. But honestly I don't think its a really good thing to spend your money on if you are a low lvl. There are luxor spawning almost all the time at all the airstrips. I would go for a buzzard instead if you don't own one.

Besra doesnt have any weapons. Besra is the only airplane that shows up as a jet on the mini map that doesnt have any weapons.

The Vestra is only a good choice if you're moving other people around. Buy the Besra if it's just you. Best plane in this game.

I think he's confused. Putting sticky bombs on the nose doesn't mean it has weapons.

Hmm I didn't think of the Cuban 800, it doesn't look the prettiest but I might have to try it out. I'm level 121 so not really a low lvl. I do have the buzzard but I'm looking for a nice plane/jet that's just for transportation.

 

Ikr lvl 121 and still don't have the hydra unlocked I'm ashamed.

The vestra is a nice plane, it's fast, can carry a passenger but its got a few issues. It can't fly upside down, it just nose dives into the ground as soon as you go inverted. And it seems to take a really long runway to land.

 

The besra is the sweetest flying plane in the game and just a little more to purchase. You can take off and immediately go vertical and keep going til the game ceiling ,you can run rings around laser and hydra pilots til they give up trying to bring you down. Sadly, the besra is only a single seater (slightly annoying for what's supposedly a jet trainer)

-Very quick

-In my opinion you can evade H-missiles pretty easy as well

-Like the Vestra, short landing and takeoff distance

-Way slower (no jet engine)

-Takes two missiles two destroy, vestra and besra just 1.

 

I think the best looking are the Cuban and the Besra, but the Vestra is the coolest when playing with 2 players. But that is just my opinion, maybe others think differently.

I have both, don't really use either. That said, the Vestra can be handled with engines off. It's a fun game to play. Take up to max altitude and cut engines, it'll glide down and stay level, easy to land. The Besra will nose dive after loss of power and it's harder to land. Besra is a good troll toy. Get Hydras to chase you and out fly them all day long.

If you think you'll frequently have passengers the Vestra is the fastest way to get across the map, and feels pretty nice to fly. If you're mostly solo though, I can't recommend the Besra highly enough. Extremely fast and the most agile plane in the game. I use mine all the time for travel, air checkpoint events and just flying for pleasure.

I got every plane in the game (and every helicopter too) even the gold ones and when I want to fly for fun, I order the besra every time

If you play with an other person yes.

Otherwise take a hydra...or...besra

Btw...most people will shoot down whatever they can lock on.

Even more reason to just buy a besra...

Also easier to land in tight spots

True but the Besra can dodge missiles just as well as either fighter jet, so as long as you know how to do that they're a non-issue. Not sure what the Vestra is capable of in that regard...

The Besra is way better than the Vestra.

Vestra can't fly upside down and it's less agile, but it still takes off in a very short distance and is the fastest transportation method for 2 people.

So if you fly alone usually, get the Besra instead.

 

The only other small pro I can give to the Vestra is that you can shut down the engine and it goes on flying fairly well, which also helps landing in tight places because of the slower speed.

It also spawns in different colors if you request one, blow it up, then request a new one. I think the new one has to spawn in the same place as the first one tho, there are loads of colors and combinations.
