I think there never will be a SP DLC.

That's your opinion and you have the right to say that, however, there would be no reason at all for Rockstar not to make a SP DLC. Why does GTA IV get two, but GTA V can't get one? Doesn't make sense. Maybe the SP DLC will have Lamar as the main character, as that's what was supposed to happen at the end of the story.

IV was more based on the story that might be why. IV's Online didnt have all the things V has. With V's Online you can build a new character, give him a whole new life, thats why almost nobody plays the SP anymore. Thats the reason we wont get a SP DLC, i think.

 

3 Expansion packs for each character.

 

1-Michael's expansion pack explains how michael moved to LS also explains his very first heist and how he met trevor.

 

2-Franklin's expansion pack explains his life, how he was a gangster also how he went to jail and events between GTA Online and GTA V.

 

3- Trevor's expansion pack the biggest one yet, as it explains how he met ron and wade, how he moved to Blaine county, how TPI was formed.

 

 

There was a news release about how R* & it's parent owner/company were gloating about how much $ that GTA Online has made for them.

Even some of the employees said that is why initial SP DLC was dropped, & likely why no future SP DLC plans will be made.

It's also the reason why they stopped adding new DLC content from Online to Singleplayer, such as vehicles & helicopters.

Less attention going back to offline, & focused on Online, where they are still making profit.

 

So 507's opinion is supported by actual events.

Back when the game was originally on last gen only yes, because in the very beginning online DLC packs costed money if I recall correctly.

So they probably would've done something similar, however since Online DLC is now free they won't bother making a priced SP DLC.

Some of their recent profit reports from Shark Cards already speak for their intentions at this point.

Takes alot less time to add some new vehicles & weapons for online vs. integrating new missions scripting & storylines in singleplayer.

 

We are to the point where R* is keeping things going with simple online content releases, while alot of the company can focus on the next game.

People nowadays just dont bother playing SP in any game. They rather just go play online with their friends and f*ck around.

 

Actually I have to call you on that one, which isn't true for all games.

The majority of homes with gaming consoles still either don't have an internet connection or decent enough connection for Online gaming modes.

 

I mean yeah Fallout 4....that's Singleplayer only, & released not long ago.

 

 

The main factor is content & the developer's choice. If they focus on later money earning like R* does, of course they will focus on Online only.

However there are plenty of games out that have great replay singleplayer modes.

 

 

If R* had put in the Singleplayer value of the old GTA: San Andreas into GTA V Singleplayer, it would've been a huge difference.

Im someone that loves SP in every game. I always finish SP and then go to MP. But i stand behind my statement, many people just dont bother with SP anymore. Im pretty sure that atleast 95% who has a console also has internet. Look at COD, people dont even bother with the story anymore, only the real fans do. The new NFS is Online only too.

I don't get it, why would anyone want more of Lamar? Its one helluva ugly guy & after these annoying lowrides cutscenes, i'd never want to see him again.

i'd choose to play as lamar instead of franklin anyday of the week.

 

he's a really cool character, funny and with attitude, i like him alot... the same cant be said about franklin who is bland and boring as f*ck.

by now the majority of people are focused on gtao, people may not buy it unless the sp dlc can add new stuff, new location, new characters, all while closing the features gap between gtao and sp.

 

new characters are needed, unless the dlc is set prior to the events in V, there no point in adding new missions to the current characters given the fact they are all millionaires, story wise it would make no sense to send a group of millionaires to do more missions.

I believe that varies largely. If Benny is meant to play a large roll in Lowriders part 2, then he may need a good amount of voice lines recorded. Then comes the editing and such.

Lowriders2 is the first update where I'm actually excited more excited about the weapons more than the vehicles. Hopefully we get some more missions that don't require a certain amount of players and fail whenever someone dies.

One thing i want to see that hasnt been mentioned before is servers hosted just for modders, like not a bad sport lobby, one where people can do things like the LSPDFR and make movies using the spawners with friends, so many times i have had friend where we go "yeah lets make a vid!!!" and then we f*ck up somewhere and we are left on a freezing night, warming our hands on the burnt shell of the car we were using for filming, and then go "well where the f*ck are we going to find an identical NPC car??" with spawners it wouldn't be a problem
