Richard Power Colt
What cool artists/genres etc. have you recently found out about or explored or something? I just started listening to Yello. I've known their song Oh Yeah for the longest time since it's sort of a meme song, but I only started listening to their other music today. It's a lot of weird, but fun electronic type stuff. Guys, we don't need another topic to just post YouTube videos. I don't mind you attaching and video but lets keep this topic discussional. Write a few sentences. Please don't just pop in to leave a video. We all ready have 2 topics for that. - Mister Pink Edited August 29, 2017 by Mister Pink mr quick
Naughtius Maximus
Not much recently, but Bowling For Soup has gotta be the one of the best bands I've discovered fresh and new. They have a vibe that they're making songs just for fun, and honestly, I like that attitude in music. , , , , , , are some of their good bits, also their clips are fun; I'd highly suggest listening them with their clips on if they have one. Also a fact I've discovered recently, these are guys who did the theme song for Phineas and Ferb, which makes them pretty cool I guess. There's another band I've found recently: Future Idiots. These guys generally make covers for the songs of famous pop-punk bands, especially Blink-182's. However, I'm more interested in the fun songs they make, like (I've found them after bumping into this one) and . Also is pretty cool too. 018361
To be honest I recently discovered Elvis. I always heard of him being "The king" and thus thought he might be a bit over-rated but then I actually listened to some of his songs and thought he's great! Long Live The King of Rock N' Roll! MikeMyth
My girlfriend got me into QoTSA, they're a really great band imo. Some of their b-sides are even better than their actual albums. Mister Pink

Thelema93
Butterfly effect. I heard one of their songs on the radio a few months ago, I liked what I heard so I looked them up on spotify and downloaded a couple of their albums.. Now I'm addicted to their music. I listen to them basically everyday.. So It sucked to find out the band have actually disbanded now.
Richard Power Colt
Merkabah 13. He sampled a track from the game ICO into a rap beat type song that was used by none other than the Based God Lil B himself. I really didn't expect to hear a song from that game in the background of a rap video with a lot of swearing so I thought it was pretty awesome. Anyway Merkabah 13 has made a lot of other cool instrumental stuff as well so that's who I'm listening to now. Here's the one that was sampled from ICO: I am not much of a rap fan, but I actually really enjoy a lot of rap beats on their own. gloss
The tune is very energizing. Unfortunately, the song can hardly ever be found in the internet. I discovered it via an song downloading app in my mobile by simply typing ''dubstep''. It's strange how I find this awesome thing by coincidence, though. thehambone
Shellac. They're a post-hardcore/math rock band from Chicago. I've listened to their first album for a few years but I just recently started getting into their other material. Big Mike
I just discovered a band called Fight Or Flight. It has two members of Disturbed in it, Dan Donegan and Mike Wengren. It was during the little hiatus Disturbed took. There's another band I discovered a few weeks back. It's called Act Of Defiance. It's got two former members of Megadeth, Shawn Drover And Chris Broderick. Most of their music is screaming, but there is one song that I really like. Rocket Skates
Recently started listening to Ill Niño. Known about them for ages and probably heard some of their tracks from time to time but couldn't recall them. Typed them into YouTube after I saw their name on another Wikipedia page I was reading. Mister Pink
Guys, I'm going to lock this topic if people just post videos. We have 2 topics for that all ready. So if you are going to post, please write something. I don't mind if you include a video. I just don't want to see video-only posts. I'm not accusing anyone of doing that, I just see the potential for it to happen Thank you. KilnerLUFC 1 AGEISPOLIS
mr quick
I LOVE the airy, breathy quality of this tune. I first heard it in the middle of the night at a 24/7 deli while "enjoying" a very inexpensive börek and a coffee to sustain myself before an 8-hour train ride that departed at 4 AM. It had released that day. It's hard to explain what exactly there is about the tune, but it so perfectly fit how I felt that night. The sun had been shining, I'd finally completed a grueling week of auditions, the air was fresh, and I could -almost- relax again. Summer was up next. The kid's not released anything notable since then, but I hope he does. He perfectly captured a mood and some emotion in thsi tune for me. Keeping an eye on him for the future If the youtube link does not work: "Let it Pass" by Jakob Ogawa on Spotify. Mister Pink
Rhoda
I have a soft spot for shoegaze, so I'm always looking for some interesting albums or EPs that explore it. There's something about that mid-90s fuzz that tugs at my nostalgia strings I think. I was recommended an album called Afrodisiac by a band called The Veldts lately and I'm quite enjoying it. It's a lengthy affair with a healthy mixture of longer tracks and shorter interludes, but it never seems to outstay its welcome - i haven't caught myself saying "this could be a little longer" or "this song is too long". Mister Pink
Not a recent discovery but I was listening to by Royksopp. I was curious to know the singer. Turns out he is a fellow-Norwegian, the lead singer of a band called . A band I heard of but never listened to. Some may describe them as a hipster band, if that means anything. Had a listen and they're quite good. Anyway I checked out his own work and it's really chilled, upbeat and of course the guy has a great voice - a bit like Damon Albarn.. someone said that in YouTube comments, now I can't unhear it. KilnerLUFC
So, before I got with our lass, I used to laugh at anyone who paid for Spotify, all because I thought it was just like Youtube, where you had to know what you wanted to listen to and whatnot, thus pointless. It wasn't till she gave me access to her account that I now actually can't get off the app, and thus recently I've discovered so much music that I wouldn't even have ever heard of, or even given a chance due to the genre it was in. Growing up, I've changed genres so much that my music taste has become so diverse, but recently I've started noticing that I like rock and heavy metal, something that a few years ago I couldn't even bear the thought of listening to. I love the playlists on Spotify, and have to say that in the last month or so I've discovered literally hundreds of new artists that I've grown to really like. Anyway, it's thanks to Spotify that I came across a new band called FANGCLUB. It was a song called that instantly hooked me, and many have said how much they sound like a pre-bleach era Nirvana, and I agree, and it's more noticeable when they play live. Their whole album is amazing, and NME even listed it as an album that fans of Foo Fighters would love. Saw them first live on a discovery stage at Bingley Music Live, a smallish gig in my hometown, and then went a month later to see them at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, and they were fantastic live, and even made my day in how genuine the guys were when the gig had finished, going so far as to sign my plastic cup and CD, and sharing a pint with me. Genuinely predict big things for this band. Another band I've recently got in to is Twin Atlantic, another band hailing from the same place as Fangclub, and another band on the top of my gig wishlist, along with Deaf Havana, another band I recently got in to.
