Time Trial #22 "Down Chiliad"

Hey guys, check this try out!

I can beat that :3 the "gliding" through the air in the beginning, that is.

I think it took me something like 10 hours in total to beat this shîtty time trial. Finally beat it today. Hit alt f10 so shadowplay saves the last 20 mins, and it turns out it did not save it for whatever reason. fml.

Wow, never seen so much bitching, it wasn't even that bad.

I got it 3rd try on my Sanchez, one of the few time trials I've even beaten...

Possibly the fact that this trial requires 99% luck?

Heres my record anyway:

QkFqVjfh.jpg

I only made it to the 2nd half like 5 times. The other 400 tries I smashed myself up before I even got to the part where the road splits..

Same, think I saw the chequered flag 3 times in total, rest of the time I wiped out long before

So am I right when I say that no one has finished this in a car? I might be bored enough to give this a try in something with 4 wheels later on tonight...

Yeah noone has beaten it in a car yet.

Mach1Bud is trying though..

^ I love how seeing a good run makes you wonder why people are bitching about this one :D

Yeah :p

I wonder if it's because you are not seeing 5 days of frustation in the clip. :3

For me, the worst part of this time trial was that jump you had to make near the beginning where the path split in two. I nearly always broke my crotch.

So, is it true that no one has done this in a car? I don't think I've seen any yet.

After I found a better path down the split, it wasn't as hard as before.

The hardest part after that was going fast enough to get to the goal, and being on a hakuchou going fast wasn't a good option, Because then I couldn't make sharp turns if I needed or land... :/

I had that problem with shadowplay a few times too.. :/

Anyway, Good work everyone who beat it.

Hours of aggravation for $50k. I think I'll pass on this one.

For me, it wasn't the 50k. It was the pride in having that "Par time beaten" appear on screen. As Lola is sitting on 31 million money isn't an issue..

tried it, fell off bike, started to chase bike down, fell on face, died(How the heck did I die from a 2foot fall?) respawn, fall...die.. respawn..fall..die.. etc etc until I FINALLY 'respawned' on a spot i could actually stand on... made foolish mistake of attempting to head back up (yes, up, had fallen quite a bit further down than the bike ended up lol) and fell again, repeat process until I was near the bottom.

Suffice to say, I never got the trail :p(I'm not evne sure how I managed to 'fall' off the bike in the first place, my character acted like when you get 'tapped' by the side of a car and sorta 'slumped' and fell off instead of when one gets thrown from a bike)

I am close to done with this. The whole thing is f*cking bullsh*t. Here's a typical run of events from my hours of attempts today:

- Get off to a good start

- Big air mid-run leads to a random crash (you know, the one you land half the time)

- Bike slides away from me, but not far enough to make it worth resetting (I don't think...), so I go down after it. Fall on a slope that is apparently 1 degree too steep, die

- Respawn somewhere else entirely with no safe way up OR down, move one foot, go into a 15 second slide, and die

- Finally get to my bike, drive it back up to the trail, hit a little rock and get thrown off again. Bike ends up in the same spot. I die, of course.

- Repeat previous few steps a million times

- Get my bike again, check phone - it's now almost dusk and I'm running out of time for a good attempt

- Just as I restart, session disconnect - I'm in a lobby solo now and the time trial cancels itself

- Switch sessions, and now it's dark

- Three bad attempts that all involve hitting rocks I couldn't see at maximum velocity, followed by me deciding to go eat a snack and wait for dawn

- Dawn; rain. Of course.

- More crashing. More dying. Start using a bookmarked Peak Performance to bring my bike back when it slides a mile away from me, as it does EVERY GODDAMN TIME

- Bookmarked Peak Performance freezes my entire game and I have to restart GTA

- Respawn at the foot of Mt. Chilliad for some reason. Arduous drive back to the top, comically unlikely error 25 feet from the starting circle, and I go flying off the mountain toward Paleto Bay

- More mountain-climbing. More miserable rain. Somehow it's now almost dark again. Another attempt or two, lose my bike, Peak Performance freezes my game again, f*ck YOU f*ck YOU f*ck YOU GAAAHHHHHH

Rockstar can eat me. This is the worst thing they've ever done.

2 days left... Did anyone manage to complete this time trial in a car?

Not yet.

I'm amazed. I made it tonight, and I was about to give up. In the rain no less. Didn't screenshot it (busy pulling the chute) and will have to go back tomorrow to look up the par time (Edited: 48.99). About the 4th time ever I got near the end no less, after maybe 50-100 tries? A lot certainly.

Well, there it is, all finished. My game crashed right after I finished this one, but fortunately it still managed to save. Now if I could only revisit the ones at christmas...

Well, tried about 5 times only on a buddies Sanchez. Decided I wasn't in the mood for pain. Think I'll pass on this one, grats to all who completed it.

Something about this Time Trial keeps pulling me back.

Took it quite easy during this time, Was trying out some different paths and one of them made me PB.

I never got that mission thing to work, it'd always respawn where she was stood with the bike still miles away.

I set Lola's spawn point to the garage in Paleto and could get up to the start in about 2 minutes by the end

I used to use a self-created race as a spawn, but randomly the game would never load the race and I would have to force quit the game.

Today I used the "Chopper ???????" Air Race (R* Verified PC), and didn't have like a single freeze and it usually loaded within like 30 seconds which meant it was way faster to join it and quit it, then to find the bike and drive back up.

Chopper Bombing. (This was described by someone else on an earlier page). It worked nicely for me as a spawn on top on the rare occasion I was trying this in random public lobbies. Most of the time I was in crew invite sessions (often while doing this I was the non-organization player that let the others start Exec. Search or Piracy Prevention) so I just struggled with getting the bike back manually. On a lot of the slopes, you can jump your way down to the bike without ragdolling if you land jumps stationary.

Yeah, There are some slops you can jump down easly and survive and then just drive back up...

To bad the bike goes down the other slops though.

Maybe it is the last one and it will just run forever because of how difficult it is :p

I'd like the ability to go back and get some of the ones I missed, didn't join in till about 5/6, then I missed 8.

I started at the first one, But I didn't "TriHard" until like the 3rd or 4th.

I wanna go back to the 3 first and try beat Olegs time.

I think they're just going to repeat. If R* made new ones someone would have found them in the files by now.

Nobody found the Banshee and Sultan RS. :p

Oh my lord, I beat it. :):):):):) I've rarely felt such a sense of achievement in a dumb game. More than even the skill involved, I feel like I triumphed over my own lack of patience to get this done. So many times I wanted to quit/break a controller/eat my copy of GTA V/beat a homeless person to death with my XBox, but I stayed (relatively) calm, kept on climbing up (and sliding back down) that mountain, and eventually beat the par time.

If I might make a general suggestion to anyone still trying: after about the halfway point, assuming you're sticking basically to the trail, you can go slightly off-trail to the right and it's MUCH smoother sailing. Fewer giant leaps, not many rocks or trees, and no danger of flying off that precipice on the left; and as long as you stay within spitting distance of the trail, the grade isn't so bad that you end up sliding away from your destination. I kept my momentum up out there for 15 seconds or so before converging with the trail again right before the end. Then I just blasted through the marker and nearly wet myself.

I didn't record any of my attempts, but had a couple teeth-gnashing failures that I'm sure you'll all recognize. One was doing a run I thought was my best, except that I slowed down a bit at a few points to maintain control of the bike. Ended up missing par by under half a second. A while later, I was going full-tilt to the end trying not to repeat that mistake, and I hit the very last possible rock (there's a big one that sits maybe 30 yards before the finish line) and went flying down the hill, sans bike. Ergh.

Screw the t-shirt for doing all the time trials - I want a t-shirt just for doing this one!

Yeah - stay off that damn path! In the end you should have a spare 7+ seconds so you can slow all the way down and crawl to the finish. Thats what I did anyway, I was too scared to hit something
