The more clothes I have to cover up my female character's ugly mugs and bodies the better.

Your character has multiple bodies?

Vinewood glam update

Introducing a assortment of new clothing and accessories to make your character look like a runway model.

Definitely need something like this; it would be the perfect kind of dlc to add these clothes/customization options with. It would also provide a good opportunity to add plastic surgery. It's a win - win.

Handbagsss!! Pleaseeee!!! Now I carry a gas can.

I think handbags would really get in the way during a shootout (lol), I think those really cute long strap purses would be better.

Ok as a guy with a female character i'm all for new dresses, boots or even nail polish but wth should our character do with a damn handbag ladies?

Edit: Alright, using it as a melee weapon would somehow make sense.

Edit #2: Maybe something like this ^^

i want the leather open zipper leg pants that females have on my guy character. but for both men and women they need to add.

1. Ripped Jeans.

2. Long hair. from

3. facial peircings. (nose, lip, eyebrow, ect.)

4. Rings.

5. more "ethnic" hairstyles.

I think long hair is not possible cuz all hairstyles we have are static.

Added chokers to the list because why not?

Anyway I'm not being sexist or ect I'm just stating a fact that the female clothing department have been over looked for sometime now. Last good thing that was good only for us is pea coats and leggings. That's it.

Also, some normal t-shirts. The v-necks were horrendous.

I was very happy when R* gave us some plain versions.

The valentines day stuff actually started as standard T-Shirts, then someone moved them to being those horrible off shoulder jobbies.

Yeah, I don't think we'll be seeing long hairstyles that can move until the next GTA game.

Meanwhile, Saints Row: The Third had dynamic hair and cloth physics in 2011.

I know, but GTA V doesn't. I don't see R* changing the game just to make flexible hair. Part of the game engine or something, I don't know.

Yeah - likewise, after some thought, I realised that the oft-requested 'longer facial hair/beards for men' isn't possible for Online characters, either:

Hair is a solid, single piece for GTAO characters - not only does it not move, but it doesn't stretch/warp to fit the character's head, either (which is why we can change their facial proportions, but not their overall head shape, like brow height/width). Meanwhile, because we can drastically reshape character's chins/jaws/etc., facial hair is limited to stuff that can be 'painted' on those malleable features without issue - hence why you only get really close, flat stuff that effectively works in the same way as face paint instead of hair.

To have full beards they'd need to be a full 3D asset, and going back to hair, GTAO assets don't warp and stretch to fit character proportions. That's also why we can't have all the thing people ask for like 'boob jobs' or 'taller/shorter/more muscular/thinner/fatter characters' - since the clothing models don't stretch to fit, R* would need to make new versions of every single item of clothing in the game to cover all variations, and that's just a big, impractical effort to go towards for probably very little return (IMO).

The least they can do is make hair move like it did in a lot of PS2 games. It's impossible that they can't match the hair of, say, Mona Sax in Max Payne 2 (2003 game). That type of hair movement is so simple and because it barely moves it shouldn't weigh all too heavy on the performance. Currently, the hair is just horrible compared to games from 10+ years ago. This should definitely be possible for R*.

And while on the topic of hair, I'd love some more variation for short haircuts. There's only 3 or 4 decent ones that you can actually see women wear today, opposed to a lot of outdated or special hairstyles. I'd just love a few more normal, short, contemporary hairstyles

What they can probably do is make things like ponytails work like they do for random soldiers in Metal Gear Solid V - the hair's a solid piece, like GTAO, but the ponytail is on a loose 'ball joint', and has some rudimentary momentum physics at work.

It's not without precedent in GTA V, either - Tracey's ponytail and bangs work in exactly the same way as described above. I doubt the moving bangs would be possible, because again, Online characters can have radically different facial proportions - but since all characters of either body type have the same 'scalp', and hair sits on them like a 'helmet', having movable elements attached to some of them isn't going to suddenly create all kinds of horrible clipping issues or require a drastic re-working of the character models*.

*heck, being able to wear gloves without using a long-sleeve top required an entire separate torso piece that swaps instead of the regular one, in order to implement it - this is child's play in comparison!

They actually do have outfit physics for dresses for example, so I guess it's still possible but R* is beeing too lazy :D

^ There's outfit physics for single-player characters' clothes - was replaying the story, and noticed how Franklin's jacket would puff up and billow in the wind when riding a motorcycle.

But again, Online clothing consists of mostly-solid, unmoving pieces, even when those clothes are re-used single-player assets. If it ain't due to processing some dozens of characters on the map at any one time, it's likely because of expediency when coming up with new stuff, and likewise keeping it all consistent and consistently interchangeable with other clothes/GTAO character bodies. I get that Online has to occasionally streamline things that single-player can get away with going all-out with, because that's just a logical trade-off for the sorts of reasons I already mentioned.

I mean we already have outfit physics online

Not sure how if it works on consoles tho

^ Not really, though - t-shirts and leggings stretch and move with characters' movements, and that's basically an extrapolation of the same mechanics.

In contrast, check out the off-road chase in this video, and watch how Trevor's top blows and flutters in the wind:

(jump to 5:10, and watch things like the bottom edge of his jacket - yeah, it's the PC version, but it's the same on XB1/PS4)

That might be a tall order for Online - although I suspect it might be easier eventually, once R* and other developers start figuring out all the ways to get much more 'juice' out of current consoles (like how by the end of last console generation, a few crafty workarounds allowed much greater poly counts and so on, without any improvement needed to the hardware).

Back to female characters' options specifically (and sorry for the double-post!), can I take the opportunity to once again point out how UTTERLY BONEHEADED this mandatory 'update' was:

LhNC6AQ.png

3EM3TC2.png

:sui:

Top is from literally the day before Lowriders came out, and bottom is the same Editor footage, but with it loading the new hairstyle assets that came with Lowriders and again with Executives.

Not sure who at R* thought it'd be a good idea to give characters a mandatory case of bed-head, but IMO, it's baffling. I mean, we can buy over-priced smoking jackets, luxury yachts and designer gear just fine, but the idea of letting our characters using a COMB?!? That's preposterous thinking, clearly... :rol:

And the most frustrating thing is that if they'd only added the new variations as WELL as keeping the originals, we'd have nearly double the amount of hairstyle options, in one fell swoop! Indeed, they could still do it - just add the old versions, give them different names, and job done. As it is, the more general-purpose tidy hairdos all now look like ...ass, frankly - or, in cases like the top knot, it's virtually a completely new hairstyle from the ground up, and really would have been better-implemented as a brand-new option, rather than replacing the existing one.

Also on that note, why do we just have to have the one style of ponytail, anyway? Particularly since Lowriders added several variations on cornrows, so it's not like that's some big forbidden 'rule' that R* has. Something like this:

uwbSh5R.png

...you know - the cool hairstyle variation from the High Life Update promo pic, that was released back in May 2014. Two years later, still nothing like that added - do it, R*, DOOO EEET.

Things are really going down in the future dlc thread; big things could be ahead.

And where big things are involved, there's the potential for a lot more clothes.

If they were to add a clothing DLC, it'd be nice to see it involve perseus in some way.

Perseus in GTA IV was the high-end clothing store (GTA IV's Posonbys) furthermore it was also planned to be used in GTA V alongside Ponsonby however it was cut.

Unenterable Perseus buildings still remain in the map however and given its status as a high-class clothing store, ot would fit well with most of what you want.

Also for those not interested in clothing, there'd be another interior for them to grief people in.

Perseus was Originally meant to be in the game, so perhaps sketches or even an interior already exists.

The hats are kinda meh for me and the most worn hat for me is the black saggy beanie and the cherry beret. How I wish we could have hats like this like in GTA IV

Soviet_Red_Army_Sheepskin_Russian_Ushank

for both males and females. Also what about variety of bikini styles not just the basic two piece swimsuit with different colors or prints which looks like made out of plain laziness.

GTA V does have dynamic hair, Tracy in director mode proves it :p I just wish they'd bring back the smooth hairstyles, but keep the scruffier ones too.
