Well, I didn't expect any "fancy" new clothes in another military-based update. I mean, honestly, the girl in the promo art is wearing a pilot outfit. What did you expect?

So I just went with the flood.

I do love some "civilian" and fancy clothes and dresses but they do not work with the whole military thing.

 

So pick your battles. The "clothes"-based update will come when they figure out a way for you to buy a sweatshop and manually sew them.

I feel like GTA Online needs to go back to the simpler times of the "I'm Not a Hipster" days in order for things to get better. But after all these battle updates I don't have much hope. This war theme is a downward spiral that is only going to get worse.

It didn't get like that over night a lot of us helped make it to the way it is today. so when you have oh like thousands of views and like many many likes and people sharing ideas and thoughts for the last 88 pages. You know when u did something right. Also to say if majority of people saying the female clothing sucks then yes something is wrong.

 

But it's a new car or a new plane or a new gun everyone on here is like insta hard on but clothing for females is like meh. I'm like reeeeeeeeeeeeallllllllyyyyyyyyyy....... Why can't you give that much love to clothing styles. Look at this update the polo shirts look like they were copied straight off the guys and most of the clothing was cod crap for kids and for edgy adults. Game is set in la the fashion city of the world next to Paris shouldn't the clothing reflect that. Not cod/battlefield/pubg i always wanted to dress up as a Isis person....not.

I can confirm they are slightly different. The straps?? are thicker than the sports tops ones and more boxy around the underarms. Also the most noticable thing is that they are not tucked like the original sports tops. Look carefully and you'll see that the bottom slightly flares out

Ugly clothing style is subjective and everyone will disagree whether an item is stylish or not. One thing we do know is how horrible these clothes fit our characters. Both female and male clothes are not that great but the females are wearing their male counterparts' sizes. Just too baggy or those big @ss boots.

 

Also, to the people complaining abotu 'grand theft barbie'....I welcome anything that is added to the game whether I like it or not. I don't care for bikers or aircrafts but I am not going to bitch about it. Everyone likes certain things and we should be happy that they are addding new stuff to the game.

 

I welcome new clothes to the game. Like I said the more stuff the better. If we get our clothes than that means R* is listening.

 

I want accessories:

 

-Backpacks

-Chain wallet for male character

-Brief case

I've never been a "REEE GTA Barbie go play Sims" person seeing as I've made two posts in this thread wishlisting things I'd wanted added to the game, I also support the game getting deeper levels of customization, who wouldn't?

 

My point was that I don't think Rockstar have the time, nor are you important enough individually for them to "f*ck with you", nor should anyone lose their job because you don't like what's being added to the game.

Eh, considering the utter lack of transparency regarding feeback (and how it's arguable that R*'s GTAO e-mail address simply leads to the company shredder... ), it's not like they're actually screwing with individual people.

...but considering that character customisation really does seem like an afterthought, with the amount of simple palette swaps, and the decline in asset quality, it's hard not to feel like they're giving the finger to folks who enjoy that side of the game. Not deliberately making things worse, but just 'eh, that side of the game's not worth the effort'.

 

 

In any case, I'm a bit lost as to what to do - at best, the Kotaku article actually got noticed (but as always, we've no way of knowing if that's the case or not), and it's just that development time means that all the updates thus far were already finalised prior to them taking it into account. At worst, they've either shrugged and ignored it, or it never even made a blip on their radar.

 

Frankly, considering that not even things like Tuners & Outlaws (which I've got big issues with as a concept, but eh, if it gets a tuner update to happen...) have gotten results, I don't know what it'd take to shake things up. A constant barrage of e-mails? A slick concept trailer or similar? A decent DLC concept thread for something fashion-orientated (maybe a stab at a full Nightlife DLC concept, based on TBoGT)? At least if people knew what got more/less attention, it'd be possible to come up with something more efficient/productive...


(fwiw, having been playing Elite Dangerous a fair amount lately, and browsing the official Frontier Developments forums, it reminds me how unusual R*'s hands-off approach to community feedback is, particularly for an online game - most other long-running online games have official boards, where some of the devs actually contribute to threads, and discuss suggestions and ideas for what to add/improve about the game)

Moving forward I think R*s needs to make clothing models specifically designed for the female characters a priority again. If they want to cut corners they should at the very least work with the existing famele clothes. Take these new tank tops for example, would it have really been so hard to put those designs on this model?

Not wanting to fiddle with old code isnt an excuse, just check these fly new flight suits. I get that they have deadlines and more important things on the list. personally I say scrap their next 8 supercar designs and focus on clothing across both genders. Seriously done with parkas and garbage bags. I miss form fitting clothes

If R* keep doing Supers the way they have been since Cunning Stunts, they can keep releasing them by the dozen imo.

 

I wish they'd put the effort that they put in to cars into the clothes, though, as I agree on a lot of the female's clothes not really being form fitting.

 

Things like the baseball shirts and football jerseys, most of the suits since Heists, hoodies, button up shirts and a bunch of these military style pants all look awful.

I always said one more major dlc to see to see if they will do something maybe just a glimmer or something but the way things are heading nah they just focus on the edgy pvp players who like pubg ect. That's why things like modern dresses need to happen - there aren't existing assets R* can re-skin, and it's not like they're just going to design male character versions first, then do some half-assed tweaking to make them fit the female character model.

 

That's quite probably why a lot of the stuff that's been around since launch in 2013 still holds up as some of the best clothing in the game, while stuff added in the last year pales in comparison - all the launch stuff was specifically designed for each character body type.

 

Still not sure what the heck's going on with texture quality, though...

Dunno if it's been mentioned yet, but in case someone wonders how you can recreate outfits like "The Ace" (bomber jacket with business shirt underneath), here's what you do:

 

(- Equip a bomber jacket and notice you can't equip shirts afterwards )

- Equip a "Fitted Suit Jacket"

- Change the "Business Shirt" to the desired one

- Equip a bomber jacket

-> The business shirt stays equipped

 

 

Maybe this does also work for other combinations. I did not test any other combo, because I was just curious.

And in case there was an obvious way and I'm retarded, please let me know.

 

 

Edit: Probably works with every jacket which lets you change the business shirt. At least for some leather jackets, so that's my guess.

I was browsing clothes yet again in the game. And i TOTALLY forgot a huge problem there is in clothing in-game. Mismatching colours. HORRIBLY mismatching colours. Black bustier with black leather cut pants as an example. Many, many "blacks" look very gray. And many colours have the same problem. Greens. Olive greens. Olive Drabs. This can all be fixed with a simple update.

There are MANY unnecessary, needless, and totally questionable modifications to existing clothing. The "Bella T" for example started out life as a nice - and very useful - beige t-shirt. So they replace the beige t shirt with some T with a graphic on it? Ok...? If you want to use the existing beige shirt as a template... USE IT. BUT KEEP THE OLD ONE!

 

WHAT, THE, HELL! I had to resort to making my crew colour a beige as best as i could to continue using it as part of an outfit. I mean, really, Rockstar? How do you rationalize stuff like that? Damn, you irritate me with your lack of logic, Rockstar.

This has been one of my ongoing gripes since I started playing this game. It's as if a different person each time has done the coloring on the clothing, and none of them have a decent color chart that they share with each other.

 

I have noticed, however, that the past few updates, the black clothing has been well and truly deep black, instead of a mid-toned grey on a lot of the other "blacks". I just wish R* would show some consistency.
