Some of you say it's because no girl plays, but if the game geared any content, maybe they would play often. Rockstars is robbing themselves in this way.

Dammit, the screenshots Rockstar released of Gunrunning only show males, so no idea what female outfits there will be. Hopefully we get a few more shots throughout the week Catsuit, please... Madafakin catsuit!

So I guess grills are getting the same military stealth jackets, camo cargo pants and boots as the bois.

Since that tends to be the case, I do expect some deeply military stealth outfits straight from Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell.

It's definitly a female and it's definitly not a new aircut. I don't think there will be any new aircut anyway with this update.

 

What i'd really (really really) like to see fixed is the size of the hats, as most of them are too large and look just silly. It's been a while now and I can't even remember when this happened, maybe not long after the game was ported to next gen.

 

I opened a ticket with R* support with evidences pictures etc... and they replied they were working on it lol.

Well as much i agree with everything else on this thread, regarding this update specifically it makes sense for both male and female clothing to be similar if they are military themed.

Females in the army ( regardless of the country ) usually wear the same thing as males when on the terrain, the only exception being parade uniforms. So it doesn't bother me this much as long as it's not the only type of clothing we're getting.

Rockstar don't care about female players though, they made this clear when one of the Houser brothers said that the key to GTA is being "masculine".

 

They have obvious bias against females, which explains why the clothing selection for females is abysmal and why the Online female character looks oddly proportioned. Almost like a male with female breasts and hip.

You're not wrong, but considering the state of certain 'unisex' clothing items, I think the problem is less 'everyone's wearing the same outfits' and more 'the female character versions look ill-fitting, almost like they're just copy-pasted with a bare-minimum bit of proportion tweaking to sorta-kinda-not-quite fit the female character model'.

 

For example, Metal Gear Solid V doesn't have the most extensive character customisation - it's mostly just different uniform types/colours that are equipped as a single suit, and almost all of them are shared for male and female troops. Which makes sense - they're supposed to be mass-produced uniforms, after all! And it's not even like KojiPro made bespoke versions for the two body types (yes, like GTAO, male and female characters have the one shared body type) - they're just stretched and tweaked to fit:

 

 

 

You can see that they're literally the same suit asset, stretched around - look at folds in the cloth, and they match up exactly on both characters.

 

However, where MGSV gets it right is proportions - it's admittedly hard to tell from those pics (particularly because I couldn't find two suitable ones that were same size! ), but KojiPro did make sure that both versions fit their respective body types properly. Compare that to GTAO, where most of the time the male versions are a perfect fit, while the female ones look too big, almost like someone just shoved a female character head on the male character body.

 

(and yeah, goes without saying that the camo prints in MGSV aren't a mess of horribly-compressed pixels, either...)

Jesus Christ. Sorry, I forgot to specify that obviously not everyone wants the slutty sh*t. Further, this thread is old. No f*cking sh*t not everyone wants slutty sh*t, but the tone of the last few posts (the relevant posts that direct the tone of the thread currently) have been talking about putting in porno level catsuits, as such that is who my post replies to. Well, not being out-and-out discrimination doesn't mean R* aren't phoning it in when it comes to female characters. For example, rather than create generic animations for online characters, they compiled a mix of animations from the three single-player characters - so in effect, all online characters play/move/fight/interact like a mash-up of Michael, Franklin and Trevor. Even the female ones.

 

And having 'just as much clothing as male characters' is conveniently side-stepping things like quality, not just quantity - and also things like ...clothing items that aren't (traditionally, anyway) unisex. R* shoved in a couple of vintage dress styles back in 2014, but anything more contemporary, like you'd be able to buy off the shelf in your average store? Nope. It's small-yet-fundamental omissions like that that are the issue, here - and just because there's technically parity (in volume of items added, if nothing else) achieved by R* copy-pasting (ill-fitting) versions of clothes designed for male characters, that doesn't make it any less true that R* still leaves a whole load of logical niches completely untapped.

 

I'll compare it to cars - yeah, hypercars and gimmick weaponised things are arguably more of an easy sell to squeakers than, say, vintage muscle or sports imports. But would it hurt for R* to dip into things they've largely neglected, instead of doubling down on the same things? I'd say 'no' - particularly given R*'s dedication to their game worlds being believable places, grounded in verisimilitude. And yet driving round in Mad Max vehicles or neon hypercars while wearing tactical gear and a pug mask is somehow a more reasonable proposition than wearing fashionable high street clothes and cruising in a Supra or a classic Mustang? Okay then.

That's exactly the problem. I'll point to saints row again, In which you could dress who you wanted to dress like. There was grunge, uptown fashion, gangster you named it, If you wanted to dress vintage, you could. There was something for everyone, in Online, a supposed MMO, is very niche. All we seem to get is more combat, and hyper cars.

 

What also upsets me, is the fact that just because "it sells" we see these things 24/7 without catering to a "Big tent" audience. The past couple months have only catered to one niche rather than all niches.

 

In terms of niches, it doesn't necessarily "hurt" the community because the community itself is diverse with its overall tastes.

Females may have just the same amount of choices but some of our choices are ridiculous. What's up with the flapper and 50's housewives dresses? I swear I tried on one of those floral dresses and I looked like I should have been basting a freaking chicken in between vacuum cleaning. How about more modern dresses for us ladies?. You can buy stockings but you cant put a skirt over it, how dumb is that? So basically our only stocking wearing options is to run around in panties looking like a Vanilla Unicorn stripper who is out and about shooting people on her lunch break. I would love to see more layering options along with more female styles that are actually stylish. I know this is an action game but Saints Row is too and they have much better customization options.
