Dear r* (regarding overall female clothing choices)

See, Coleco, in a perfect world, those two things would be the same update. ;)

Maybe it's just me being weird, but I think that it's all a really good fit - or maybe I'm just trying to find a way to turn my current GTAO wishlist/frustrations (nicer hair, nicer clothes, nicer cars) into something that can be fixed all in one go... :p

No, I totally agree. I don't think nightclubs would work on their own but included as part of a suitable vehicle-based theme we could have all kinds of excuses for cool clothing for divas, socialites and petrolheads alike.

Ah, screw it... Shep, we'll make our own GTAO, with blackjack and hookers nightclubs and tuners

Yeah - a nightclub update isn't really an update in itself. Likewise, there's no real 'outfits' and whatnot for tuners, either (other than ...regular clothes - although as this thread demonstrates, there's still a distinct absence of those, particularly for female characters!). But put them together, under an overall 'nightlife' banner? That fills so many niches, and in such a way that if you don't like one part of it, there's probably something else that'll suit your tastes.

...although that said, R* doesn't seem to mind going all-in with a specific theme for an update - for example, don't like bikes or motorcycle clubs? Sorry - guess I've you've just got to sit tight for another 2+ months and hope that the next update offers something you like... :bored:

I'd like them to shrink hats and simply make them un-options if your hairstyle doesn't work because i'm sick of giant novelty hats.

Yea no we aren't doing that shrink and still let all hair work with it

And yet, weirdly, some hairstyles still clip through things like helmets and whatnot - and it's kinda moot, because at least some hats (specifically the forward caps from Lowriders) fit properly, with very few issues with hairstyles.

What's really damned annoying is that ALL hairstyles have two versions - a regular version, and an 'under hats/in cars' version that compresses down to fit. I don't see why they couldn't have just done things like make ponytails and pigtails have 'under hat' versions that lie flatter, or change shape more, in order to fit the existing hats, rather than turning the majority of hats into oversized bowls that look like they're floating over characters' heads.

What do you think they'll add into the halloween update? Do you think stockings would be updated? :/

I hear some people are talking about animal tails and ears, the'd be pretty cool.

In my honest opinion, in MMO's like these, you should be able to have free reign in what you look like, as in, if you have an idea on what you want to portray, you can wear that item, like Saints Row, Online doesn't really really do that, and I understand that this is a "real life" game, but even then, the fashion is very early 2000's and vintage. Nothing people like us would be wearing erryday.

Knee high socks like Candy pointed out would make a good halloween item, alongside the stockings.

- Different colour blouses aka "shirts" would be cool to wear too.

-Devil costumes, etc etc. would also be pretty cool

-The hairbands on the pigtails and pin up could also use new colour schemes or designs.

I wish the sweatervest for the female avatars fit to the body like the Finance and Felony update's turtlenecks do.

I'm guessing that the Halloween stuff this year will likely just be last year's facepaints/masks recycled, probably with the Sanctus chopper as the new limited-edition vehicle, maybe with the Lurcher and Fränken Stange coming back as well.

Nothing new in the files clothing-wise, it seems - only new clothes are the TRON-style motorcycle suits coming as unlockables with the Deadline Adversary Mode, which might be coming around Halloween-ish (it's a stretch, I know, but eh...).

YES please - that deep black looks horrible. I like the idea of the pigtails with bandana and would maybe wear them but the black is so dark i want to write "missing texture file" on it.

would be great if we could choose it's color ...

We all know that the Rock* goons look at this forum. Why can't we have these socks when they're already advertised in game?

That's some pretty extreme Zettai Ryouiki.

Seems like R* still doesn't allow us to layer some of the clothes. I thought the clothes layering wasn't made possible in last gen due to hardware limitation? Wonder what is their excuse for current gen.

The "excuse?" That it was coded that way for last gen.

If the underlying fabric of the game is made that way, they're not going to completely gut and rebuild the entire thing for some new clothing options for characters. It doesn't affect NPCs, and it's not important enough for the resources for PCs.

Re-writing the clothing slots code wasn't deemed important enough during development. I can't say I'm going to disagree, either.

If Saints Row 2 being a last gen game can allow layering on clothes then why not in GTA?

I guess the same reason they put this in to torment me:

Sorry for being off topic, just my way of relating to people here. Wow, that still haunts me.

Seeing that 6th garage, and the way they worded it - I mean, they obviously hear people. Just p*sses me off knowing they're not listening to us.

Because R* is a bunch of lazy people

Saints Row 2 is a better game anyway...

The models are made in a different way. Seems R*'s character models are modular - torsos, arms, legs, feet, hands, etc are switched out and replaced by others that have clothing geometry on them to give the illusion that we're wearing different items. It kinda makes sense for optimization but it's not as versatile.

I would like to be able to mix and match more though... and even if physically the models aren't designed to be layered, there's no excusing different shades of similar colours in tops/bottoms. I like to colour co-ordinate my outfits and this is my worst nightmare :D Also, if bags are added they'd better match some of my shoes or there'll be hell to pay...

...and now I want a black patent bag. Gah

Yeah, pretty much. And the advantage with having clothing work that way is that it can in theory commit to a greater level of surface detail/sculpting, because clothing items don't have to look good when stretched/squashed to suit all custom character body shapes.

...except that's not quite how things happen at present, because again, R* seems quite happy to release formless, floaty oversized garments with 50x50 MS Paint textures. :sui:

Still, at least we've seen the one practical alternative to true layering in action with this update: if you can't have tights/stockings (for example) as a separate layer from skirts/shorts, just make new skirt/shorts options with built-in tights. Granted, more variety and ...better f*cking texture work would be a step up, but we'll see if things improve on that front. Baby steps, eh? :p

They're different games made by different companies using different graphics engines.

If a 550hp semi truck can haul 80,000 lbs up a twisting mountaim road, why cant the 707hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat? Because they're different vehicles built by different companies and use different types of engine.

I hate inconsistent the lighting is causing my character to go from fish to beast depending on the lighting.

And I swear something with this update made my main characters face even more aged than her mother already makes it.

Maybe I'm being punished for using the recreation glitch.

My male character is prettier

I want this soft airbrushed glow all the time

She looks real nice. Yeah, my character looks amazing in the creator, but semi decent within the actual confines of the video game.

I hope GTA 6 remedies all the things GTAO should be right now.

I'll say this, at least - can't ever go wrong with more t-shirt prints (even if it really wouldn't kill R* to add more colours than black and white - there's a bunch of others that actually exist in-game, like pink, red, tan, etc., that almost never get used), and this update did add a few good ones:

:p

Adding this one to my GTAO wishlist:

Anyone notice the plain green/black/gray Sweaters have gone from the clothing lists? Or is it just me needing my glasses again?

I'm talking about these ones - the 'logo' variants are still there but I don't like using my body as a billboard:

rdZaSIp.jpg

On topic, cute things would be nice. Dresses with leggings and round-toed flats, moar bob and ponytail hairstyles

Maybe that's more 'mumsy' than cute but whatever :)

'Cute' is an interpretative construct. What I find cute, others may not find cute, and vice versa.

p.s. There's nothing wrong with a 'Mumsy' look. I find her Smile cute. :inlove:

Who's smile, Phil?

Good points though - I'll try to remember that next time i'm getting my frump on in my baggy hoodies and jeans :D

If R* ever add an 'eat icecream on sofa' animation I will be so happy

Hello there! Does anyone know if they ever released the high cut sneakers? Were those shoes released for a limited time, cause I can't find them in any shop but they do appear in SP
