Dear r* (regarding overall female clothing choices)

Recommended Posts

+1 for this thread. Stupid that knee high boots can't go over leggings or jeans without glitching... well that was patched anyway :/

Preach it girl... it takes an encyclopedic level of memorization to keep track of all the utterly arbitrary restrictions on which items can be layered/combined and which can't.

Sadly im a guy and know all of the restrictions too..lol

I mean sure on my main GUY character.. I barely care what i look like. Toss on some random clothes and im good to go.

But when i use my girl. For f*ck sakes it takes me for ever to get ready with a good outfit, im so fussy with it...lol

Nothing to be sad about my friend. I'm a guy too and the main reason my character is female is that, all else being equal, women's fashion is just much more interesting and appealing.

With a male avatar I'd either be wearing a suit or the same sorts of stuff I wear myself irl. Tactical gear is pretty unisex. With Courtney I get to be creative without being another hhhhiiillllaaarrriiiooouuusss dude running around in a mish-mash clownsuit and animal mask.

Same here, tbh the females have a great range of clothes but then they make it so stupid things won't work together...

Although I very rarely play on my female character, I do agree. Males have a lot of customization options in terms of clothing, while females tend to have less to work with. I find it amazing how they created all these unique items, yet they'll rarely get used even as a VIP or bodyguard since most players stick to saved outfits. Seems like a waste of coding, modeling, and overall work. Yes, I realize that there are some issues with these items in their current states, such as clipping issues. However, 80%+ of the work is done in these items, all they need to do is fix the small bugs they have and make them purchasable.

I want a fancy dress. Not the 50's housewife dresses we have, but something you could wear to an award show you know? Male characters have plenty of suits. Female characters have... a more limited selection of suits.

This is GTA. not the sims.

A number of people on Rockstar's payroll seem to disagree given that a lot of effort has already been put into clothes since this game has come out, let alone when it was in development.

o.O

+1 on those boots please. The black ones are kind of sexy. :3

Oh and yes. Long hair too please. Or a proper mohawk, damnit.

This too!

I have to wonder if people think they're playing as criminals in GTA or socialites in Kim Kardashian's phone app.

Compare what we have now to launch; it's enough. It may not be perfect, but nothing ever is.

Stop making the game geared more to males seriously. There are a lot of gamers who are female and you need to stop ignoring us.
Go to fashion school or look on Pinterest steal a few ideas idc how u do it but seriously the female clothing need to be overhaul ASAP.

I'm sorry, that those of us that use female characters on GTA online want better options for clothing etc. Piss off with your Sims crap. Also, Quinn I have to agree with everything you've said. It's like they design stuff on what their mothers probably wear and think

"Hey they'll like this for online!" Ummm NO!

but if it's is a tuner update or a miltary one or a biker dlc

Everyone is circle jerking each other saying that's ok we want more.

It's not ok and it's need to be improved. Some of us like pve some of us like pvp some of us like to be fashionable. It's a game for everyone.

Thank god I have boots with jeans modded outfit

How did you do this ? It looks awesome.

Ty ty it's a modded outfit made from 360 transfered to X1

I have to agree. I know stealing and killing seems to come first in GTA, but it'd be cool to do all of this while looking how we want, whether we dress up as a hipster, a model, a bum, fancy, redneck hippy, cops, robbers, or ever a f*cking clown. We might have a huge list of clothing in this game, but most of our options are reskinned textures of old clothes, especially on the men's side of the store. Another point I'd like to add about the ludicrous number of "clothes" in the store is the fact that there isn't a "change color" option for a shirt of a certain design. Instead of adding "100 sets of clothing" to a game, we get the same shirt and pants model in 5-10 different colors, more or less giving us "10 sets of clothing" in a given update..

When we take the location of the game into consideration (a knockoff Los Angeles), the clothing for both the men and women are a joke. I'll admit that with Ill-Gotten Gains, the women got some really good clothing, but compared to what we see people wear when they go out into town IRL, it does seem a bit lacking. Hell, some of the NPC's in this game have clothes I'd kill for, not to mention some of the clothes Michael, Franklin, and even Trevor have in SP. I don't know sh*t about creating textures for a video game, but would have it been possible to scale a piece of clothing on an NPC to make it fit properly on our Online character's rather oddly-shaped bodies? I'm not even going to say console limitation... wouldn't that be an engine limitation or just pure laziness on R*'s side?

This is GTA. not the sims.

Give it a rest. How can you put a single label on GTA? I distinctly remember picking different outfits for CJ in San Andreas (and getting different clothes for other characters in older games) - were they not GTA?

I bet you'd probably say there can't be any military vehicles because that would be like COD?

"This is GTA, not ....." is so annoying.

Oh ok..

For something I'm not forced to be paying for, yeah. I'll take whatever we get and either use it or ignore it.

But I won't criticize it on the basis of "I want more, I want it free & I want it now", because I'm not 18.

Please quote where I've stated such a thing.

Otherwise, get your strawman out of the discussion.

Why is it "not" ok? What exactly does not having knee-high boots damage or break?

This is not a need, this is a want.

Like I've said, look at the vanilla options and look at today, R*, for all their flaws, have kept their end of the bargain; the world has indeed evolved and will probably continue to do so.

Whether you embrace every update or not is irrelevant. The option is there to be taken.

The solution is simple: you can either change the game, adapt, or leave.

Why do you feel R* have to tailor the game to every whim they hear/read? We've gone from complete corporate control to the install-base bitching about everything that's not there.

I can bet you anything that if they added your desires, within minutes you'd find something they haven't done yet and forget about what they have already done.

Look at the yachts, look at the custom interiors...all things people claimed to have wanted for so long and stated to have been gamechangers if they were added... lol.

It's not a game for everyone. Such a game does not exist.

I don't why GTA in particular, seems to be this game that people want to make into this "all-in-one"...and yet when they give more, people just say "that sucks, we want more".

People were complaining in IV-multiplayer how avatars were so similar and how even a little bit of customization would be enough...now people want to turn this into a fashion game.

People wanted some car customizations...now that R* made V the most customizable GTA yet....nope, not enough, we want it to have the handling and customization of a full-fledged AAA dedicated racing game as only a partial feature.

Do they get any credit for it? Not really.

It would be nice for more clothes, yes...but to say "Facts"....lol.

All we get are the same old money/bling updates. Reskinned gold aircraft, overpriced and limited suits, expensive BS that gets tiring basically.

Making an update with lots of clothes and customization would be great - it would be something different from the same old tired updates we've been getting.

GTA is a game for everyone. It always has been. GTA has given players the ability to change their look for a long time now, while also having something for those that like to cause mayhem, and those who like to drive, fly, and so on. This GTA is a little lacking in clothes for females.
