Dear r* (regarding overall female clothing choices)

Well...For I culd see in the trailer/newswire post the only few "new" items I could see for Female characters are the Boot Sneakers on female character (Or at least in THE female character of the trailer ._.') and just  a pair of running/sport shoes

 

 

At least this new Image is what I can see, so... I guess that we better expect nothing in this regards

Again, like with the dancers in After Hours or Cayo Perico, those might just be NPCs based on player character assets (which is why they can do poses and whatnot we currently can't).

 

I'd like to see some new hairstyles (for the first time in nearly half a decade, FFS... ), but considering that RDO went from getting better and better with the amount of well-made, varied, period/setting-appropriate clothing and the like with most updates, to ...jack squat for the last two updates (haven't had new regular clothes in the RDO catalogue since July 2020!), I don't see GTAO getting better, either.

 

 

...in fact, I've just realised that RDO had decent clothing for a full two years (launch in 2018 to Summer 2020), and that's basically the same as GTAO (launch in 2013 to Summer 2015) - it's like that's the cut-off point at which R* stops giving a sh*t about character customisation...

Racing games appear to be focusing on character customization as well as car customization. Need for Speed, Horizon, Test Drive, The Crew, etc. Those games are catching up to this very quickly, soon enough there won't be too many compelling reasons to continue playing this game.

I share my account with a girl so hence we have a Female Character I let my friend Design the Character and she looks maybe about 21 dresses or tries to like a British Girl. But some thing me and her said they needed to add was An Actual like Close to Cop Uniform, Men In gta have slip on shoes Am I sure they do so give girls The slip on Shoes specifically the Checkerboard Black and White Vans slip on. Add Converse High Tops, add more Like Ripped Jeans and AF1 Style Trainers we have Jordans and AM90 but not AF1 also she said add the ability to change your outfit on the fly so ie she goes to the beach in a Bikini hat and sunglasses she can remove them but not the Flip Flops she was wearing with the Bikini as a guy who used to a male character I dressed like A Peaky Blinder/Bussinessman/London or British Gangster with the Suit Overcoat and Flap Cap. We can replicate that as a female but add Converse to Men and maybe Loafers men can wear the Loafers Women in gtao have some rich men do it. Apart from that can't really moan I leave my Friend who is a girl to do the fashion. Oh and add all black Converse and maybe The Vans style of lace up trainers the Old Skool I think and then the Hi Top Version

At this point I would already be happy if we just get good quality retextures of the well made clothing that already exists. Instead of you know, the 30th retexture of the military gear, the crappy oversized shirts, copy pasted suits from males for females.

GTA5-Mods already has a lot of well made rextures for stuff that exists, they could just trace or copy paste those things and a lot of people would be happy. But I guess even that is out of the window by now, I guess I will just keep making my own retextures then

I honestly wouldn't use NFS as a shining example for character customization. That game allows is stuck in a very niche style with like 5 different items per slot and each having 30 textures. But yeah other game genres are catching up, just not always in the way people here would like.

This is most likely an npc version of the male character. they add those and give them new clothing/accessories but not us. They've been doing this ever since the slap in the face Nightclub DLC.

If they dont want to give us new clothes, fine. But atleast give us the clothes thats already in the game FFS! I want franklins and trevors clothing. And they cant give us the red dead online excuse because its all one body size. Basically all characters have the same body type. I really want some of franklin hoodies and trevors bowling shirts

You can literally just search "gta online female outfits" in Youtube and that'll be the overwhelming majority of what you find.

Oh no worries I have, I've made a few posts there. It's great seeing people appreciate outfits that aren't goofy looking half naked, rebreather wearing, invisible ankle having messes.

Yeah, I did as well just recently. I honestly hope it won't be for E&E exclusively, cause how hard can it be to implement it in the current gen version? RDO has dynamic hair physics iirc

Unpopular opinion; those physics only exist for the cutscene. Possibly not even the in-game cutscene that end users see.

 

It can then be added to the long list of features that only exist in R* promotional material... -.-'

how is this an opinion? people would flip if they found just how many props have scripted animations to simulate physics

I saw some new shirts, hoodies and jackets in the car meet area, but they’re all locked. You have to raise your reputation just to earn the ability to purchase them. Other than that, one new afro hairstyle and a t-shirt. I at least expected some retextures of existing items, but we didn’t even get that.

It's a lost cause at this point - and I fear RDO is going the same way. Same'll probably go for GTA VI and the next Online, too - so you'll have a game where the production values and level of world/character/vehicle detail will wipe the floor with stuff like Cyberpunk or TLoU2, only for the 'GTAO 2.0' character creator to look like a laughing stock compared to something like Saints Row 2 (2008) or Test Drive Unlimited 2 (2011).

I have a theory about the female clothing thing. Whenever you give the modern woman something and if it’s something that they don’t like bad things happen. Remember early when the game released in 2013 Lindsay Lohan got mad because she said the game was making fun of her? Anybody remember the Paloton commercial? The one where the husband bought his wife a treadmill and she thought he was calling her fat when she clearly wasn’t? Perhaps maybe Rockstar Games is being careful when adding female stuff to the game because they don’t want to get canceled if it’s something women don’t like.

I mean, considering they have sometimes put in the odd half-decent thing like a dress or something in the past, and they weren't doing a bad job with womenswear in Red Dead Online until recently (when they just stopped adding varied and interesting clothing altogether - for male and female characters), that's demonstrably not true. I know it's trendy to blame everything on "political correctness" or "cancel culture" or "something something woke something something", but ...nah.

 

It's clearly just R* treating character customisation like the lowest possible priority - nothing more spoOoky or conspiratorial than that. And it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy: R* adds crap/no character customisation options, players don't buy/use it, R* assumes it's because players aren't interested in buying/using any of that stuff, and so put even less effort in next time - lather, rinse, repeat.

 

Also, it's partly down to money/microtransactions: you can charge millions for cars that people can buy, sell, rebuy, buy multiple, etc., but clothing in GTAO/RDO is a one-time deal (because you can't sell clothes and rebuy them), for stuff that's never as expensive as properties or vehicles. So why bother putting any effort into stuff that isn't going to get you those Shark Card and gold bar sales?

Not only are the clothes piss poor, they have the audacity to lock them away. As if it's something worth unlocking. "Hey, thanks for playing a couple more hundred hours on this update. Here's a new pair of shoes."

 

Remember old updates where they just let you buy liveries and jackets day 1?

Why would rockstar bother adding clothes when more than half of the playerbase runs around in the average black tryhard outfit or choose the first premade outfit they see.

 

As soon as Rockstar notices something is being ignored they instantly drop it to reduce effort kek
