Cultural differences. I'm sure we have many things Japanese people find annoying. They probably don't like cop dramas nearly as much as we do.

I actually like the livery better than the goofy-looking mask. I'd never desecrate my car with it of course, but it looks like something a certain kind of person might have in the real world, and it's not entirely visually displeasing.
