No - you're missing the point, actually. You have zero say in this so accept it and move on. You are literally going to do nothing about this, or affect it in any way, shape or form.

 

Besides, you're getting what you've paid for, despite the T&C clearly stating that you are in no way promised any form of recompense.

 

 

I want my egg delivered, express delivery. They owe us that at the very least. Instead they want us to collect this egg and if you don't do it by X time. You can't have your egg back!! WTF?!

go check all the miserable cella dwellin moaners in the most recent "psn is down" thread. Getting ino economical and political spitfire over some hours the psn was down.

 

One in particular lost about 1 dollar of service time. But hey look, you get a whole free DAY for hours missed. Shall we wait to see them start a thread about how nice a customer service gesture this was? Haha! Yeah right. Theyre out trying to find other things "wronged" in their lives...

First I just wanna thank the OP for pointing this out so good stuff.

 

But I'm gonna bitch about it also, People seem to forget about how alot of games require an online connection these days to do daily objectives and other such nonsense that is there to ease the grinding or provide rewards to players.

 

So yes people only lost a day or whatever but it still doesn't get past the fact that if any player were doing a daily objective thing that carries over consecutive days ala GTA they are gonna be pissed coz thanks to Sony not being able to prevent ddos attacks these player missed out and have to start all over again, Is it fair to those players that they were forced to miss out on progress and have to start over ?

 

I was playing NeedforSpeed at the time, Well I say playing fact is I couldn't because it needs a constant connection to even load the game, So yeah I feel more than ripped off only getting a day added and nothing else, When I had a game I paid full price for and could not use.

Granted its frustrating when things get screwy, but they are complaining about an activity, recreational, a"first world" issue. And I was told I was all sorts of things, basically a naive civilian. I just know what to focus my energy on when a real problem in my life occurs.

 

I'd hate to see these people run their own business and see what happens when sh*t hits the fan. They'd probably pack up and hit the road.

 

Actually, Aliens would definitely analyze the playstation network, because if they lose one hour, one day, or even maybe a week they for sure would move on to the next planet.

 

Nevermind all the trash we have buried in our ground, thats not a problem. The playstation network is a major issue in people's lives...

 

Edit: yeah I know the irony, and complaining about the complainers yada yada yada. I spent my spare 10 minutes this AM addressing the BS...oh well

Uhh, no.

 

The DDOS attack in late 2014 meant the service was down for 3 days and everyone holding a valid account at that time had 3 days added to their subscription.

 

On 4th January 2016 the service was down for less than 24 hours, but they are adding a day to all valid subscriptions as per the OP.

 

There have been no global outages between 2014 and now, other than the incidents mentioned above.

 

 

 

For the whiners on the thread if you check the T&Cs you aren't actually entitled to any recompense if the service is down. The extra days we've had added for serious outages are purely goodwill from Sony.

 

As to 'what are you meant to do with an extra day' I'd suggest you're meant to play games, watch netflix or whatever you normally do on your console. After all, if there has been no outage its probably exactly what you would have done anyhow.

 

Other than minor inconvenience we've lost nothing due to the outage.

They owe me. I was forced to spend Christmas with family members. On the 4th I watched cooking programs all day I will not forget.

For me its not worth checking emails and typing codes for one day. That should have been automatic global. What are those jokers trying to do. Make guys like me pay an extra day. (of course they are, scammers).

Can you explain exactly how they are trying to scam you in to paying for an extra day subscription by sending you a free code for an extra day? That literally makes no sense at all.

To all the users being negative and wanting more then they are entitled to in thread:

 

Stop being greedy. You lost a couple of hours due to technical issues but have been generously given the option for a extra day. That's more then fair. Don't be demanding now for more such as a extra month and free/discounted games. Sony didn't even have to do anything.

the ddos attack from 2014 has nothing to do with this one as well..

 

and for some, there has been two PSN outages this year. The one on the 4th and then a couple of weeks ago about two hours after the day long GTA Online outage started on PS4, people that were not already signed into PSN were getting a message saying that PSN was under maintenance. It never affected the players that were logged in at the time, but did affect those that were trying to sign in to PSN. So between the outage on the 4th and the maintenance period a week or two ago, for some it ended up being basically a full day without PSN.

 

 

Some people can't play for 10+ hours every day, because of work, school, whatever, and it affects them more than anything else when they try to play for the couple of hours that they can and they lose out. And despite what the T&S says, Sony has been rather good about reimbursing us when the outages happen, no matter how big or small.

Thanks OP, email was buried under a tonne of crap so I would have missed it. A free day is a free day and I was mainly playing Football Manager while psn was down anyway. I'm one of those fools that buys his membership every 30 days so I'll enjoy my free day.

No problem. That was the idea of the thread. I would of probably missed the e-mail too if I didn't have a sub category for where all my gaming e-mails get filtered into.

I did it through the PSN app. Console was off and didn't even need a computer.
