active missile defenses near international airports

is it just me or does the defense range extend way out over land sometimes? explosions were going off near my hydra while taking off on the runway and I got the warning just off the helipad

As you didn't mention "yacht" once in your post, and NPC AA defense systems do exist in the game already, it sounded like you want the same rockets that the military base used to be stationed around LSX. Also, not enough context to conclude sarcasm on your part, and since there have been a lot of posts on this board from players wanting really REALLY stupid things, you could have been serious for all we know.

 

Generally I don't fly over the coastal areas (unless high up) unless I can see that it's yacht-free below or I'm heading directly to my own ship. I've flown over several yachts and while I've been fired at by a couple I still haven't been shot down by then.
