Time Trial #19 - "Vinewood Bowl"

I still think I can get another 2 seconds off of this. I hit a rock after crossing the metal bridge in the offroad section, and I banged a pole coming out near the end, as well as I braked as not to fly off over the edge..

 

 

By far my least favourite time trial, 1:30 of boring straight open road, then extremely tight and bumpy roads that will send your t20 into the river without warning.

2 hours later after crashing, dying and water sightseeing many times, 2:55,...

 

The time is not hard to beat, but the damn bumpy curvy dirt road...

1st go didnt even make it to the first corner going down the hill, crashed into a car at lights. After many failed attempts switched to Osiris, crashed into the river and trees... Gonna give this a proper go later on tonight

 

Edit: Bought an Akuma, upgraded it and beat the timer by 2 seconds. Using train tracks is a good method and theres no need to pull wheelies all the time, I pushed up on joystick instead for a boost and more control

I may try this one with an Akuma again. There'll be traffic to dodge, and enough off road that it should be possible to beat the par time.

I would have gotten it on first try, but a small bush made me flip 10 times down into a car that made me suicide.

 

I got super lucky towards the end.

Got 2:43 on my first complete try with one crash. On a second try aimed 20secs under par but got only 19s under (2:39.042), that's enough for now. Nice to have some different route choices for a change!

Pegassi Bati 801, only cost $15K. Really rockstar made all their time trials 'wheelie fest' so bikes are the best choice.

02:54 on Bati using with default route.

 

I'll try it with a non-super later as usual. Brawler or Kuruma might be able to handle the canyon well. Will probably go with Brawler due to the amount of highways to abuse top speed.

Why the f*ck does the game not let me back on my bike if I fall off it? It's infuriating to have to travel back because I can't restart from my bike.

 

Seriously, am I the only person with this problem? I used to be able to get back on my back during TTs but since the last one, I can't. I can press Y all I want and my character won't f*cking budge, once the timer runs out BAM straight back on the bike.

2:56.3 on the Bati, train tracks. Made a couple of (minor) mistakes in the good run (and lots of other mistakes before that). Hit a rock while heading onto the tracks in the first place and spent a bit of time uselessly in the air (but stayed on the bike); slightly overshot while coming from the GOH down to the destination and that cost me a bit more time but not fatally so. Once I got the run from the exit of the tunnel to the GOH down, that part was more consistent than the long run through the canyon was for me.

It's not just you, I had the same problem in this time trial. On PC, if it means anything.

I almost always go into passive before these anyways; lowers the risk of getting shot on the way to the start or on the way back after I've fallen off the bike and not been able to get back on in time.

Bleh, best I got so far is a 3 seconds over par on my Bati if I actually finished (stopped just before the finish as it went over par so I could respawn), I just lose to much time in the bit after bridge in Raton Canyon (north side of the river), tried various routes but I hit that bridge at about 2 minutes, which is consistent with other people here, just after that I just lose too much time.

It's actually not hard. Clocked in at 2:51:8 with the Hakuchou, following the train tracks from Sandy to the saw mill. I've never beaten a time trial by 6 seconds before.

It seems to be the fastest route, but I have not bump into everything around the sawmill and then full frontal into a tree near the finish line, I'll try again tomorrow evening, time for bed, I gotta work tomorrow.
