I think the correct question would be: "When will they allow us to switch shoulder views?". Because being an over the shoulder when shooting in 3rd person game... that's pretty damn stupid.

 

Matter of fact. Inexcusable. They spend so much time on 1st person, yet this is overlooked? Seriously, Rockstar. This would be extremely handy. APB had it in 2010. Why doesn't GTA V have it? No excuse.

I can see how it's useful but all shoulder switching has ever done for me was to annoy me, because it'd automatically switch in games (such as GR and APB when I did play it) I play so it'd have a "dynamic" cover system.

 

Man, just let me take cover myself, don't do it for me.

For example, in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, if you lean against a wall, it'll automatically put you in cover (which is a good feature) but it'll automatically switch your shoulder view if you do it a certain way (which happens a lot)

Why not a manual shoulder switch, like in The Last of Us?

 

Also, yeah, I'll trade Stealth Mode, which is almost useless, for good ol' crouching.

I'd actually fully support the idea of additional stances, but considering GTA:O's current status, I heavily doubt they'd make such a drastic change like that. But by any chance they do manage to refine stances, I'd also like a prone position, an ideal way to snipe. I'd always hide prone on a rooftop, lying belly down, and awaiting a prey, if the option was added. But as of now, it just seems like an idyllic hope.

This bullsh*t right here is exactly why it is 100% not needed. We need to focus on cleaning up the cancer not adding to it lol

There is a crouch function in the game, it's hidden in the files and unfinished, some modders managed to restore it:

Also, it's 2018 and RDR 2 is right around the corner, so R* is focused on finishing that game so you shouldn't hold your horse waiting for this to come.
